They could close out Which one of the days. I don't see them being there as they rarely bring back bigger name acts (although they have) year-to-year, but you never know.

What about Blakroc tent. Mos Def will be there already so he can play the show. If they just get a few other rappers then Black Keys can have a blakroc late night tent. Think like the Gov't Mule late night of 2007 where they played for like 3+ hours and had a ton of guests.
That'd be amazing.
I don't think Black Keys will be there this year though. I'd love to be wrong.

I feel like closing out the Which stage would be a demotion. I mean, how many Which stage closers are given prime late night tent slots the year before?

They'd be taking a slot that Weezer, Phoenix, the White Stripes, Mars Volta, and Willie Nelson have played. Not really a demotion, it's a pretty prime time slot.

On first glance it just feels like a demotion to me. But you guys brought up good bands.

^^^^This would be the only way I could see them preforming at Roo this year. Itd be amazing indeed. Even if they got rappers to preform other ppl's classics like when I saw Mark Ronson at Lolla he got other rappers do songs like "Simon Says". That way rappers who weren't part of the album can preform without doing the same songs from their set. Would be a great set IMO

That's pretty sweet thinking... Blakroc is working or finishing their follow up album too...
They had a high-profile slot last year, late night in a tent. Bonnaroo rarely has a band back two years in a row, unless the band has gotten a lot bigger over that year and can be bumped to a bigger/better slot (see: MGMT 2008/2009 and Phoenix 2009/2010). After a late night slot headlining one of the tents, the only place for the Keys to go is either headlining, or a late night on the stage. Don't see it happening this year.
As much as I love them, The Black Keys are still way too small to headline. If they do return this year (which I'm not counting on ), there are three spots where I could potentially see them: What Stage pre-pre-headliner (a la The Raconteurs in '08), Which Stage pre-headliner (like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs or TV on the Radio in '09), or late night in a tent again, except headlining the tent this time.

I honestly don't see any reason not to bring them back. No one would complain. It would also be smart. They had a big year and they're an even bigger draw now than last year. They're also a multi-year bonnaroo alumni, and superfly and AC love to showcase bands that they think they 'helped raise' (ie kings of leon). They could be in the top 6 I think.

^agreed, but i think i would rather have the blackroc show this year just to mix it up. we would be seeing essentially the same show we saw last year if they came back as the black keys.
Looks like they are going to get a stage this year. I missed them at Roo last year for the Flips but saw them in December at the HOB in Orlando. It was a great show, I've never seen that place so packed. I bet seeing them at Roo as a PHL would be an amazing show.
Me too. Most of the people I went with went to the Black Keys and when we met up later that night they were just going on and on about how much energy there was. I had a great time at the Flips but felt like I missed something special.
