negative for Covid. Might take another at home just to be safe… but where does that leave me with attending large events this weekend? Possibly the flu, more likely a cold. No fever as of now, but a big and frequent productive cough. Can I go to a wedding tonight & a concert tomorrow?

Only if you can control that cough. Drink a bottle of Delsym. Ok, just two tablespoons full. Brand name. None of that genetic shit. Take a sudafed if you don’t have heart disease or high blood pressure. And mask up.
edit-and do something stylish. For Taylor I wore an N95 under a sequin mask.

Cough is worse and fever is back, so no wedding tonight or concert tomorrow night (friend I was splitting the drive with already cancelled because he can’t afford to get sick rn) Bitterly disappointing, been looking forward to this weekend for months.

Must be because I had the flu for Christmas. I’m not feeling up to par. It increases my paranoia like looking in my mirror and seeing a police car. \m/ gws been fighting a minor cold and mostly winning.

I'm sorry. I know that sucks. But you did the right thing staying home. Get well.
Bona Fide Masks, where I order all of my FDA-tested and highly rated N95s, has a 25% off sale through 12/1.
(BTW, when I just came to the thread to post this, I accidentally clicked upon page 1 and wondered what the quack was happening, with so much talk about festivals being cancelled. I couldn't believe that a new surge had hit but wasn't receiving any press coverage.)

This week, every day, I get an email from work about another person who tested positive. I've been bartending with a mask the last week to make it to the holidays without interruption (which I often get tipped *less* when I do nowadays lol) only for my girlfriend to inform me someone she hung out with last night (indoors) tested positive this morning.
I can't be mad at her (she's already mad anyway) but the stress of this shit for the 4th Christmas in a row is the fucking worst.

Sister had a co-teacher come to work with a COVID positive husband and coughing all over the kids. No mask. My sister kicked her out.

Hoping you guys stay negative.
IN WHAT UNIVERSE?! Doesn’t she have sick pay?!?! Whyyyyy!!!
Yikes, the cases in my state (Massachusetts) have been trending upwards in recent weeks and are the highest they've been since early this year. I've been intentionally doing limited exposures to indoor air in public spaces over the course of the last few months, including one 30 minute meal in a restaurant, but I'm wondering how wise it is for me to do another table service restaurant meal with numbers on the rise due to the new J1 variant. I'm still waiting to get a Novavax booster until after my annual checkup in a couple of weeks, and I'm hoping that I've had just enough exposure to the virus to "top off the tank" and keep antibody production happening since I was last infected in early August.
I hate having two long weekends in a row without something fun to do, and I'd really like to do another indoor dining thing more time-consuming than grabbing a taco or a pizza slice and eating it in five minutes. With my mask on until the food arrives and going back on after my last bite, I can't imagine that I'll be unmasked for more than 20 minutes.

Decisions, decisions.
Please, for the love of God, go and and get a meal. Sit down, relax, and enjoy it.
