Probably the only way I'll ever see them, so that's cool with me. Get them off the bucket list of people I probably should see, but will most likely never pay for on their own.
I really think it is going to be the Stones for the 10th aniversary though. They should be touring, and I'd rather that. (Another legend I'll never pay for but would love to check off before one of us dies.) I'll take either. Plus Radiohead and MMJ ;D
Would I go see them on their own? If the opener was good enough and it wasn't ass expensive.
Would I gladly go see them @ Roo and enjoy all the whoever-you-ares kicking the dirt because Daft Punk isn't headlining instead? You bet your sweet ass.

I agree, I'd never pay to see them. I would check out the back end of their set
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
I have my fingers crossed. I've seen them before, and it was one of the best live shows I've ever seen.. Music lovers in general should not be disappointed with their show.... and if you are, you must have been sleeping.
I hope it is U2 rather than someone like The Stones, Sir Paul, or Bowie or some other awesome classic rock act. A good friend has scheduled his wedding in Nashville on the likely Saturday of Bonnaroo, so I'll have to skip the Saturday headliner anyway. Not that I wouldn't attend U2 if there, it would just be an easier skip to swallow for me.

For the sake of an argument, I have seen The Stones and U2. And the U2 show was 10x better than the Stones. Not to say that they Stones weren't good, but the U2 show was just that much better.

Bono is at a U2 concert when he asks the audience for some quiet. Then in the silence, he starts to slowly clap his hands. Holding the audience in total silence, he says into the microphone... "every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies." A voice from near the front pierces the silence... "Well, fucking stop it then!"

I'm not surprised to hear that. I just prefer the music of The Stones to the music of U2, and probably won't get many other chances to see them.

Noted. I just don't want people to count out the show because they don't enjoy U2's music. I can't say I enjoy Phish's music (GASP) but I can certainly enjoy their show.

So, anyway, they don't make me not wanna go to Roo next year if they play. The more headliners I don't want to see the better because that means I can take a nap and a shower before late night.

But what if all the late nights suck as bad as U2?

Also Daft Punk wouldn't headline Saturday anyway so this isn't necessarily knocking them out of contention for 2011.
It'd be cool anyway... I'd prefer a good, classic band with tried and true staying power than a totally overrated electronica act that was only even remotely cool in the late 90s, hanging to the thread of their career with their ridiculous light show and god-knows-why-it's- there hipster cred.
While I feel DP would be a cool thing for allot of people who just wanna see lights and dance, U2 would put on an infinitely better musical showcase, a more well rounded concert, and still maybe have some cool stuff to look @. I'm not saying I'd be pissed if they were there, but I'm certainly happy every year they aren't.
