DMB would definitely be the Sunday Night Headliner if he played. When's the last time he played, 2005? A lot has changed since then, The last Friday headliners have been Tool, Metallica, and Beastie Boys, the last Sunday headliners have been Widespread, Widespread, and Phish. DMB fits into the latter.
as much as i love DMB, it just wouldn't cut it for me as the traditional sunday jam headliner. i would much rather have him play friday or saturday and let further, string cheese, or even widespread close out the festival.
DMB would make sense, especially for Sunday's headliner. They kind of fit the jam mold. They're good enough live that I'd stick around. Not to mention their drummer is one of the single best drummers I've ever seen

I completely agree. I've echoed this sentiment twice before in other threads, and it has been met with unanimous disagreement. DMB is a Friday night headliner in my book. I would, however, be surprised if DMB and WSP played in 2010. It would be the first time two previous headliners had been back in the same year. . .
I have to disagree with you on that. I think it may be their worst ever. I still like them to death but this new disc has simply not grown on me.
hmmmm you think its worse then Stand Up? Interesting. Dont get me wrong I am the only DMB in my group of friends that enjoyed Stand Up just think that Big Whiskey is definitely enjoyed more by more people. And I say they would be a Friday headliner

Yeah. I wasn't wild about Stand Up but there are songs on it that I enjoy like Dreamgirl and Smooth Rider plus You Might Die Trying and Louisianna Bayou have become live highlights. I even have come to not hate American Baby, though that took a while!

As a DMB fan I'd love to see them headline Bonnaroo. Every band has their haters, but I love their music and have seen a ton of shows at some great venues and would love to add Bonnaroo to that list this year. I think for those worried about the "frat boys", you can rest easy. You will see alot more dedicated and "true" fans out there rather than the typical frat boy fan that everyone hates. Those types show up more at local shows, and won't go through 3 days at a festival just for DMB.
And for those of you who think we are all obnoxious frat boys, well, that's just not true.

I am the furthest thing from a frat boy. Although the worst part of a DMB show are the few idiot fans who are there for the party. I see a lot more of that at Roo than I have at any DMB show.

DMB would be killer to close out on Sunday...having dave and friends would add to that! It would be SO beautiful! I have taken lots of people to see Dave who have only heard some songs and such, and not one of them has been disappointed..even if it's not their thing they enjoyed the talent and the vibe of the crowd. It's so funny to me to see people write 'dave sux'.....reminds me of every time I run into some strange being who doesn't like Robert Plant's voice, so they tell me 'Zep Sux!'.....YOU FOOLS!!!

How did you get that? Hehe....no I was saying it bugs me when people don't like someone so they say that the band sux....even if in all reality the musicians in the band are really good! You are silly!
Dave Matthews Band is playing the HullabaLOU Festival in Kentucky on July 25th. Take it for what you will.
that lineup makes me physically sick. i've been going to dave shows for 13 years, am nothing like the stereotypical frat dbag manwh0re, live 1 hr away from louisville but wouldn't go to that fest if you paid me. i think my greatest fear is that bonnaroo will one day book bands like bon jovi and kenny chesney. thank god they started this festival so i don't have to really worry about that anymore.
I can't stand Robert Plant's voice in prolly half of Led Zeppelin's songs, but I can't deny he and the rest of the band are incredibly talented and provided a lot of inspiration and influence in peoples' lives. But then I feel the same way about Tool so I get a lot of shit.
