I was there when that fence came down, it was awful! One my favorite live shows had to be the Allmans in 05 at the roo. This is one of my all time favorite shows. Its about damn time the brothers are back! Hopefully they can come close to topping that show, getting a Jessica and a Franklins Tower was incredible, also the best Whipping Post I have ever heard.

Steve Miller Band- State College, PA in 1996; my first concert, age 9 Simon & Garfunkel- Washington, DC in 2003... brought me to tears numerous times.... just pure, timeless harmony & simplicity. it was unbelievable. Radiohead- Bonnaroo 2006... everyone's already covered the awe of this show. i personally was at the gates at 10:15am... made the mad dash to the stage with the other hordes of people around 10:30, and staked out around the 8th-10th row for ten hours before their set came on. it was SO WORTH IT. holy christ.
i'm going where the sun keeps shining, thru' the pouring rain, going where the weather suits my clothes. backing off of the north east wind, sailing on summer breeze, and skipping over the ocean like a stone.
Arcade Fire at Randall's island last October, hands down best live show I've ever seen. Nothing I've seen live can come close to the performance they put on.
Explosions in the Sky are excellent live, as well as Man Man.

I bet it was worth it. Especially since the What Stage-lineup that day was fantastic. Neville Brothers, Elvis Costello/Allen Toussaint, Beck, Radiohead. If you're going to spend an entire Bonnaroo day at one stage, What Stage Saturday '06 was a great time to do it.
Hey, Jude, don't be afraid. You were made to go out and get her. The minute you let her under your skin, Then you begin to make it better.
And any time you feel the pain, Hey Jude, refrain. Don't carry the world upon your shoulders. Well don't you know that it's a fool who plays it cool By making his world a little colder.
My top ten no order pink floyd 94' foxboro stadium life of agony 2001 i think irving plaza nyc radiohead every time flaming lips roo' 07 ben harper everytime the dears middle east boston 07 guns n roses boston garden 93' tool every time pantera wallace civic center 94' led zepplin roo' 08'
Others that are up there...Lyrics Born before he used a band, first Aesop Rock show, first Ben Harper show, Peter Gabriel and ABB @ Woodstock '94, practically all of Bonnaroo '02, especially Trey & late nights, FLIPS Bonnaroo '03, 2x I saw Radiohead, David Byrne Roo '04, Ray LaMontagne Roo '05, what I caught of MMJ Roo '06, lots of local bands...
Phil and Friends Roo 06 dancing in the rain, and there was this absolutely stunning woman in this soaking wet almost see through dress with a perfect body who was also dancing in the rain. goodness.
There are the great concerts I've been to (see top 5 concert threads), and there are the great experiences that don't necessarily add up to the sum of the very best.
The a couple of the most memorable that come to mind:
*DJ Spooky @ Waterloo Park followed by Serena Maneesh/Xiu Xiu/Magnolia Eletric Co. at Emo's- At the end of an exhausting non-stop night of music, this band from Norway I knew next to nothing about played what is easily the most beautiful song I've heard live, "Don't Come Down Here". (First song on their myspace: www.myspace.com/serenamaneesh). It was beauty than fuzz and then beauty than total absolute noisy chaos. Perfect end to my night. As much as the band was killing it, I left on a high note 2/3 through their set.
*Camera Obscura/I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness @ Emo's- I have a bit of a crush on the lead singer for Camera Obscura, and a weakness for perfect pop songs. And while that set was great, it was the set at the Emo's bar that gave me one of the most memorable live moments I've ever had. I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness was already a song or two into their set by the time I came in and the dance floor was already moving, filled with hipsters in their skinny boy jeans, doing their best Ian Curtis impressions and trying to look effectively detached from the basslines that made their hips swivel awkwardly. This woman who looked to be in her thirties came in wearing a sun dress looking completely out of place. She smiled awkwardly but looked completely lost, and didn't look like she was with anybody. And while the band played "According to Plan", she just started looking more and more broken down, and we made eye contact, and she burst into tears.
STP - Tabernacle - ATL STS9 - Tabernacle - ATL Nirvana - (oustide) - Miami Phish - (cheesecake) - Everglades, FL {is the Tabernacle the best place in America outside of Red Rocks to see a show??}

SERIOUSLY. i adore the neville brothers... beck's set was INSANE (who can forget those marionettes? i was out of my mind) and i had a nice little nap during elvis (no offense.. hehe)

i am proud to say my first was bob dylan when i was 12. my next favorite was weezer when i was 20 in nashville. but my all time favorite would have to be radiohead roo 06'. best show of my life and now i am going to see them in atlanta 2 days before i graduate college!!!
Flaming Lips/White Stripes NYE 2004 - The Aragon Ballroom, Chicago
Both bands were on stage together leading up to the new year. At the end of the countdown they launched into Seven Nation Army together. Tons of balloons dropped. It was the happiest large collection of people I've ever been a part of. It was magic.
