Iam going to go from the past years, and use my psychic powers. The three headliners are FRIDAY- Phil Lesh and friends SATERDAY-Trey Anastasio SUNDAY- Widespread Panic I really see them heading back the first couple of years.

Yea it has, not in that order, and I bet you see 1 or mabey 2 of them back in 08. Also would rather see them than some mainstream bullshit. In 2010 bonnaroo will no longer be the same as it was 5 years ago.
Friday - Daft Punk / Chemical Brothers / Something really sweet hopefully w/ Lazers Saturday- PRINCE .. hell yeah Sunday - Some incarnation of the DEAD

thats been done
Multiple times......What makes you think they won't do it again? I'm pretty confident in saying one of those acts will headline. Maybe with Thom Yorke or The Who.
Now those would be headliners I would actually be excited to see.

Yup, Iam sure everyone has noticed every year they have atleast 2 "Jamband" headliners. This is because this is the roots of this festivial, the whole reason Bonnaroo started. Their are alot of other great festivals that have jazz, metal, bluegrass, or what not, as thier main headliners, but I think Bonnaroo should go back to first made them BONNAROOOOOOO! Also I hear every year Thom Yorke should come so will someone give him the message, thanks.

You lost me there. The last two years there has been only one jam band headliner; Phil and Friends last year, WSP this year.

Yea chefchick you are right they are rock.I was kinda upset with their show. I felt like they could have found someone better, I acutally left to get a good spot for late night action. Tool and widespread made up for it tough.
My best guess would be PJ, Led Zeppelin and Dave Matthews Band. DMB hasn't played in awhile. It's pretty damn hard to ignore those Zeppelin rumors considering JPJ appearance at the festival this past year. And I would bet that PJ was Superfly's first choice for the Friday Night slot before they chose Europe over Bonnaroo.
I don't think the Allman Bros are big enough to headline, just my opinion though.
My personal dream lineup would be: Friday: Arcade Fire > Radiohead Late Night "Headliner": Portishead Saturday: Raconteurs > Led Zeppelin Late Night "Headliner": The Mars Volta Sunday: Wilco > Neil Young & Crazy Horse

we are all entitled to our own opinion but i def. think the allman brothers are def headline material. but im a big jam head so..lol..it would be a dream come true...lotso corn material
^^^I think the Allman Brothers would run into the same problem Widespread Panic did last year...the audience demand doesn't match the headlining slot. Besides, they've played Bonnaroo, and they didn't headline then. They've played other major festivals and didn't headline. Thus, knocking them up to a headliner slot that doesn't make sense unless you have a Dylan-esque return to prominence through record sales and what not. As it is, The Allman Brothers are definitely a pre-headliner and not a headliner. Not a knock on them. Just the reality of their draw power.

Allman Brothers could definitely headline, but they won't. They can play just as long as Panic and DMB, but I just don't think it will happen. They have a good following, and I think they started playing in the mid-to-late-60's, and I think they are known as the kings of southern rock. I think Bonnaroo tends to go after a slightly bigger name for the headlining spot though. The only way I see them headlining on Sunday is if they get somebody that is really huge, who they would have to pay a lot of money, to headline on Saturday. So let's say they get like Roger Waters, U2, Eric Clapton, The Who, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, or maybe even Radiohead again to headline Saturday, those are bands who I think you would have to fork a lot of money out for, so if something like that happens, I think the ABB could headline Sunday.

But I know that Led Zeppelin won't ever happen at Bonnaroo. Believe me, I would love it. I think everyone would. And I'm pretty sure U2 and Roger Waters wouldn't happen either. Again, I would love either of them to headline but it just doesn't seem likely. To me, the most likely headliners seem to be bands like Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, the Who, DMB, Eric Clapton, REM, RHCP, David Bowie, and again at some point, I think the Dead will be back, maybe not this year, but they will be back again, hopefully with Bruce Hornsby. I think Radiohead will be back again at some point also.
I don't think you guys are getting my point. I'm not saying the Allman Brothers couldn't fill a 3 hour slot. I'm saying there isn't a demand on the scale of Bonnaroo for them to do it. The Black Crowes and Ben Harper are bigger draws than ABB. And unless Duane magically rises from the grave to join them onstage, I don't think that's going to change.
Half the bands who play Bonnaroo could probably fill a 2-3 hour slot if given the opportunity. I think Trey & Friends is more likely a Sunday headliner than the Allman Brothers Band. And I don't think either would happen.
