It sounds like they were on track to get a permit for Douglass Park. (Anyone know if it was still granted today? 😂)
So this act of defiance to move last minute out of the city likely cost them in ticket sales and refunds? (I’d assume on beverage purchases as well because everyone has to drive. Not sure who pockets proceeds from parking though.)
If they didn’t want to be in Douglass they should have given it one more year then strategically moved somewhere else with a full year of planning. Rather than move after selling tickets for another location and announcing the move such that it overshadows the lineup.
I know they managed to get back to Douglass (Thank God) but every year I attended (been to 4) there were always people from the neighborhood trying to harsh our buzz. A number of them seemed to despise Riotfest.

I just spent 10 minutes looking at both the list of 4pm NFL games for this Sunday as well as what Rob Zombie's 2024 setlist looks like. Didn't reach a firm conclusion on the best way to maximize my time.

I decided that for free I can't turn down the Spoon-Annie-Pavement-Beck run but I'm really mixed on Sunday.
The SC-Michigan game should be over by the time Spoon starts and I think that's my last real commitment for Saturday. I don't have high hopes for Northwestern at Washington.
Gwar vs Lamar/Dak is a real tough call. Can't commit yet. Leaving my options open.

If the MSU- BC game was earlier it would be an easier choice for me, but it's at 7:00. Plus I think the Tennessee- Oklahoma game that night could be a good one.
It's live music but also a fest run by a man child who has changed the goal posts a dozen times this year and is having to paper the fest likely due to some kind of tax evasion scheme.
There's always a non zero chance you show up and the fest is canceled and there's a long winded rant from Riot Mike about how the Chicago aldermen killed punk rock.
