Location: *sighing heavily* SeatGeek Stadium, Bridgeview, IL just kidding motherfucker! We're back in Douglass Park! Fuck you!
Wait, how the fuck do I get to Bridgeview?: Plan on getting a rental car or as close of a hotel as you can now! I have no advice beyond that. How do I take the CTA to Douglass Park? Long story short, Pink Line to Kedzie or California. A bus if you're feeling truly crazy. Be careful on the trains.
Are they still doing aftershows?: Apparently. More on that as information comes out. Hell yeah they are:
Their presale is one of the better deals in American festivals. Hoping for the Dillinger reunion to make a stop there
How much is it?
If I remember right it's in the $150-200 range. I think I got the 2022 year with MCR and NIN for a little cheaper too, but things have changed since then
I got mine for $200 before taxes/fees last year (it was $240 total) and I don’t believe there was a cheaper tier than that too.
My bank app says it was $219 and I bought in May. I feel like they do it differently every year but regardless the Presale is a significant discount
I think a lot of it may be tax difference too, half of the fees on my order were taxes. Edit: but I also bought mine in May too so you may have just gotten a cheaper tier
Keeping an eye on this, as I mentioned in the pitchfork thread I want to visit Chicago next year and build in either this or that. Last year looked phenomenal

So with only 2 unannounced cities left and no dates announced between September 1 and October 4, Riot Fest looks like a lock for NOFX's farewell tour. Given the fest's history with NOFX, it'll be interesting how and if they incorporate any aspects of their traveling Punk in Drublic fest. To me, there are 4 options:
1. A headlining set: Even if they played their best albums, are they big enough to headline, marketed as their last Chicago show ever a la Slayer in 2019? Maybe if it was something like Punk in Drublic, The Decline, and Heavy Petting Zoo (yet to be played in full), but that's still a long shot IMO. 2. Headlining a smaller stage x2: I like the idea of NOFX taking over the Radical Stage for 2 days, with the openers being a bunch of the Fat Wreck Chords bands that have supported them on tour. It would be like a fest within a fest! 3. A Thursday park takeover: Punk in Drublic Thursday pre party? Just NOFX and their buds scheduled like 2021? Open to people who just want to go to see NOFX and not attend a full Riot Fest? Does RF occurring a week later than normal make this more or less likely? 4. A normal festival set: They played 2 fests in Germany and have one scheduled for Tokyo. Nothing special. This would be disappointing, but I wouldn't rule it out.
Any thoughts or opinions? Do you even like NOFX? What bands would you hope they brought along? So far, the bands that have opened the most are Pennywise (x6), Circle Jerks (x8), The Bombpops (x5), CoDefefndants (x13), and Get Dead (x9). I wouldn't mind seeing Lagwagon (x4), Bouncing Souls (x1), The Vandals (x1), or Days 'N Daze (x2).
I like NOFX, I don't think they could be booked as a headliner, even if it's billed as their last Chicago (and Milwaukee) show like Slayer in 2019. I think it's most likely they would just close a side stage while the headliner plays on the main stage. An after show at Concord or something could be in play as well.
Last time NOFX played was 2021 and they were 4th on their day. Even if it's their last Chicago show I don't think they'd headline.
They headlined a side stage that year opposite Smashing Pumpkins and Lupe Fiasco. I feel like they would still be in the same situation just maybe with a longer set.
The amount of people on Reddit raging about the $200 weekend ticket is insane. I wish any of my local fests were that cheap
They still think it should cost $50 and you pay the bands in cases of beer. I mean they just really hate that its a popular event and its not diy anymore.
Saw No Redeeming Social Value last night. They’re always so god damn fun. But my entire body hurts now. How have they never played Riot Fest? I ask this question every year.

Never heard of them.
Late 80s/early 90s NYHC band that sings about partying. They’re super over the top and ridiculous. A breath of fresh air in a scene that sometimes took its self too seriously.
EDIT: I think they’d fit in perfectly with GWAR and Andrew WK
Speaking of 90s ska punk, Sublime is back? To recap... 1988-1996: OG lineup 2009-2011: OG rhythm section with ~Rome~ 2011-2023: OG bassist, ~Rome~, and a rando drummer (OG drummer admitting he regretted reforming the band) 2023-2024: OG rhythm section with OG frontman's son Thoughts?
I will never begrudge musicians for going out and earning a living, but Sublime died with Bradley. I will be annoyed if Riot Fest books Frankensublime, because they would likely take a prominent spot on the lineup that could have otherwise gone to a good band.
