really just fatigue/dry throat. i guess some mild brain fog
Can you get/do you have a netti bottle for sinus rinsing? Did that twice a day the last time I had it and it really helped. Also, if you can get some Betadine, gargling with that helped me (and, supposedly, helps reduce viral load in the upper throat, although there are no RCTs on that).
I do have a neti pot but i dont have any distilled water so i’ll see if i can have someone pick some up for me. good to know on the betadine
welp, today marks my 3rd time having covid. mild symptoms so far but does anyone have any specific tips for home remedies? i dont think i qualify for paxlovid either
1 part whiskey 1 part lemon juice (squeezed) 1 part honey
Heat up whiskey/lemon a little, add honey and drink plenty. More a throat soother, and it may not offer that much in the way of rehydration.
You can heat honey, but there can be some type of issue with toxins if it goes much over 100F.
passing on the whiskey but honey and lemon help quite a bit

Yeah, that's Irish remedy stuff my aunt told us back when. You don't need whiskey in the mix (acts as a pain duller) but you still don't want to overheat the honey. Honey-lemon made its way into throat drops many years ago. But it's similar to a hot toddy (just more concentrated). You can add other things in like ginger or tumeric if you want.

Make sure they get the correct betadine. There is a douche and you don’t want to gargle with that!

I managed to go 4 years without testing positive for covid even though I'm sure I likely had it at least once, but I finally tested positive a few weeks ago and I'm still in the tail end of symptoms. The boyfriend and kid also had it but they rebounded in a few days.

So far this hasnt been a terrible experience but this third time having it is prob the worst. dry cough, dry throat, fatigue. thankfully no brain fog at least but ive been trying to keep my mind engaged and active while getting through this. in a weird way im kinda happy i tested positive yesterday because i fly to SF next week for outside lands and it would have sucked to: A) test positive right before leaving, B) test positive during the trip or C) test positive upon returning

thanks! you too! at least you got it out of the way before OSL! you'll likely be surrounded by covid there so at least now you'll have some resistance.
it's been pretty rough but I'm getting over it. I had a fever for around 12 hours that had the absolute worst fever chills I've ever had. and then it was just 2 solid weeks of congestion and coughing. for a while I couldn't hear out of my left ear all that well, so I would "clear" my ears/sinuses and then just hear this squeeking in my ears while the pressure equalized but then it would just clog up again in 10 minutes lol
the fatigue was rough, my legs are still kind of sore every morning and yeah, the brain fog was the worst! I'm nostly better now, but since i'm a smoker, the cough will definitely linger for a bit longer I'm sure.
The worst part of this might be that I work in IT and had to deal with the Crowdstrike issues while dealing with Covid! ugh!
my opinion on covid has completely changed after catching it this third time. the first couple times it was basically nothing but ive been symptomatic since last sunday, still testing positive, and felt a little dizzy when i got up. i can feel the virus wreaking havoc on my various organs while my O2 sat is still good, i’m really scared that this will turn into long covid.

thankfully negative today! but breathing feels a little more labored than before i caught covid. otherwise not many lingering symptoms as far as i can tell. O2 sat still good
Maybe a dumb question but does anyone have resources for finding infection numbers? "Surges" are all word of mouth at this point.
You can get some stats for NYC here, looks like NYC's surge peaked already and is on the decline, we had been averaging in the high 800s and 900s for at least a few weeks previous. www.nyc.gov/site/doh/covid/covid-19-data.page#sum

Thanks! I've got a mural gig I can't miss at the end of the month, trying to figure out how bad it is right now.

Last shot for me was first week of April, so I’ll be going first week of October for the new one. Been sticking to an every 6 months schedule so far as that seems to be the long end of when current research says protection wanes.

Cool cool cool this "flirt" variant is so fun - super mild but you still have covid. I tested every other day when symptoms started - had a weird fever, then nothing, then a day of feeling fine, then a day or two of chest congestion. I had my shot coming up so I wanted to test just in case. I'm guessing I'm on Day 4 at this point? #naturalimmunitynow

Uhhhh, that's a little concerning, because this is kind of what's happening with me. I had a random fever Monday afternoon - 100.7 not that high, and it went back down by the evening and hasn't gone back up since. I feel generally fine but have maybe a little more snot than normal. I tested on Monday and this morning, and was negative both times. I figured that meant maybe it was just allergies causing my mild congestion and that I was in the clear. Guess we'll see.

I started feeling post nasal drip back on Saturday, then runny nose / tired on Sunday & Monday (but not even as bad as allergies or a cold). Chesty feeling yesterday. Basically normal today. So…yah you could have it and not be testing positive yet.
My girlfriend is a day behind me in symptoms but is now out of town on a gig, and she was negative this morning. Thankfully (?) she’s in Utah where no one gives a shit.

back in July when I caught it it was exactly that. a quick fever that really only lasted like 10 hours followed be a couple days feeling just a little run down but otherwise fine, and then a couple weeks of congestion and coughing.

Well, shit. I masked Monday and yesterday around my wife and daughter, but didn't this morning because of the second negative test. I hope I didn't infect them if I have it.

if it's any consolation, the boyfriend and kid also caught it and only had the quick fever and they were perfectly fine after that.
Also, shout out to COVID tests for being more or less useless at the time when an accurate test would be most useful.
idk, when i had covid recently i got a solid red line on the test i took. it was negative the first day i had some fatigue but solid red positive the next morning.
