And another thing, to all you who get your panties in a wad because you don't like promoters' choice of a third tier artist, either put on a festival of this magnitude or get over your damn selves.
This has got to be the biggest over reaction I've ever seen.

There are people who seem to genuinely believe that their tastes in music are the only ones that count and that they're therefore entitled to a festival where only bands they like are invited. In the sober light of day, I agree that my reaction was excessive. I rarely express that opinion though because I don't like sounding like the crotchety old guy talking about young people and their sense of entitlement. Also, when sober, the argument seems pointless.

Or they simply would have preferred a different main stage artist to be added.

Every one on here could say they preferred a main stage artist to the ones they are getting. To me it is a lot more fun to celebrate what we get vs mourning what we missed. Also Kenny is going to be a fun show I bet.

What "people" are you talking about here?
I don't think any of us are mad, it's just a weird add. I'm not trying to force my tastes on the festival, that would be crazy. But I don't think I need to feel bad for offering my opinion.
Plus if Dolly tagged along I would love it. She is not touring this year. So a little one-off with Mr. Rogers would be more than welcome.
I've been waiting for the to have Dolly for years and haven't quite figured out why they haven't, especially since she seems to have gone back to roots a bit. Thoughts?

Totally agree, my main point was just that I didn't think people weren't really acting "entitled to a festival of only artists they liked" as he claimed. I agreed with nodepression about it being a bit of an overreaction.

Somewhere I read Kenny has a new album to drop June 5th. Now I can't find that reference. Has anyone else heard this? Makes sense to play big a day or so after a drop. Smart business on his part.
Superjam - Rogers, St. Vincent, The Beach Boys, Afro Cuban All Stars, Bronx Mariachi and Skrillex, with Skrillex throwing in the "Just dropped in" beats.
This is one for the locals. It seems Bonnaroo gets a few acts every year to say 'Thanks for letting us take over your town for a while'. While I thought Willie, Hag, and Loretta were very cool, I can't say the same about Zac Brown Band, Miranda Lambert, etc. I think NEEDTOBREATHE is for the locals too. Pretty boy Christian rock goes over well in rural Tennessee.

Ummm ok....... I thin k the average Bonnaroo attendee likes to see some diversity. Also I drove to NYC recently and there are more country stations in the NE than NAshville ever thought about having.

When I went to NYC I noticed a lot more pizza shops than at Bonnaroo. And more fire hydrants.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

I've already 'fessed up to a bit of an overreaction. But I think the comment was "the biggest overreaction he'd ever seen." But listen, I'm better suited to the arcade and am going back there now. Talk amongst yourselves.
Maybe we should let the word out that the Pop Country Capital has moved from Nashville to NYC then. I am from the Deep South and tons of folks down here love that kind of music and Christian music as well. Maybe I shouldn't have made the leap and assumed that the folks in the state our just our north had similar tastes. Silly me!

I was obviously kidding.
I'm very sarcastic, it's something I'm working on.
To be honest, not very hard, but I am occasionally thinking about working on it.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
^^^ This could be awesome, and surreal. Especially if Miss Dolly lingered long enough to duet on "Jolene".
Jack White (hologram) handling lead guitar? Ooooo-weeee!
Nevermind.
I was just thinking this morning that a lot of the people unhappy with Kenny, are going to be more unhappy after they skip the show, and it was the one show Jack White set in on.
This is far fetched as hell, but considering it will probably be against the Beach Boys I doubt I would even care. Well I would care, but it wouldn't change who I would rather see.
