Crowd was not as far back as for Mumfords but at least to the bobbleheads. Neil said the crowd was ten times bigger than any crowd they'd played for before!
it was an amazing set. Well worth skipping the Black Keys to get a good spot. Sorry, Auerbach brothers....not that I don't love you, but.....I love Neil more
While MMJ took the prize for best show of the weekend, Buffalo Springfield was a close second. Bluebird, Mr. Soul, and Rockin in the Free World blew my mind. It was even more unbelievable that I was so close in the pit to see them.
I really, really do wish that they will fix the sound problems at Which for the people in the back. While it was perfect up in the pit, I feel bad for those who couldn't enjoy what I did. Its a show and experience I'll never forget, but I wish I could share that same sentiment with a whole lot more people.
Which stage is really miserable. Great show, but I wasn't far from the right of the SBD and many of the "turn it up" chants were coming from that area. That's just inexcusable. Oh, well - still enjoyed it.
I think it's safe to say that Neil refuses to play Bonnaroo ever again due to Eminem.
Um, why? Was there some kind of problem between the two of them?
Springfield had to leave the stage early, because Eminem had his slot adjusted, and then Em didn't even get rolling until sunrise and only played for like a half hour.
It was nuts, I've never seen anything like it. Even Nine Inch Nails and David Byrne weren't that crowded. There was probably 55-60,000 people at a stage built to hold half that amount. The walk from What to Which alone took close to half an hour just because there was so many people going down the path from What to Which at the same time.
It was a great show, but they reeeeaaalllllyy needed to crank up the volume on Which. You couldn't hear shit if you were past the first set of beer tents. That was my only real gripe with the set. I also would have loved an "Expecting to Fly", but I knew it wasn't likely given their typical setlist this tour.

I was in the pit for The Black Keys, stayed for the whole show, and then managed to get over to the Which, and move pretty close, about in line with the soundboard, with a group of 5 people, without any problem and before BS came on stage.

Wait, seriously? I walked up at about 9:15/9:20 and wasn't too far away. Then the combination of the sound being extremely low and the prospect of a thunderstorm had a ton of people leave. I got pretty close to even with the soundboard by like quarter to 10 without any problem. I only walked past Mumford and Sons but that looked more packed to me?
So I keep a long, long list of all the shows I attend online. I got to counting all the shows I attended and I found out that the Buffalo Springfield show was the 200th concert I've seen. Pretty cool.
Actually reading that post about Em reminds me about something a photog is was talking on Sunday said. Apparently he saw Neil and Em chatting sometime Saturday afternoon. No idea if its true but I wonder what they would talk about and how much they know about each other.

I will never get over missing this show. After being disappointed by Mumford, it took us until Black Keys started playing to even get to the What. By then, we decided to bolt for the rv and get back for BS. However, that storm rolled in and we had to pack everything up at the rv, which caused me to get back into Centeroo just in time to hear the end of Rockin' in the Free World.....miserable failure.
Same here. Entered Centeroo everyday at about 12:30 and didn't leave until 4am. Thursday I went to Futurebirds and didn't leave til after Deerhunter. Heck, even Sunday night I didn't get back to the RV until 5:30 in the morning.
