good article
makes me even sadder about the white stripes break-up, and that i never got the oppurtunity to see them live
Whadd'ya guys make of this quote over from the CoS article that they got from DIY that they got from Q magazine "“I won’t join another band again. Three’s enough for one lifetime. If I can’t say it in any of these bands, then I’ll say it by myself”.
“I won’t join another band again. Three’s enough for one lifetime. If I can’t say it in any of these bands, then I’ll say it by myself”.
Hmmm... I guess he means The White Stripes, 2 Star Tabernacle and Jack White & The Bricks?
I might actually be okay with him just doing solo stuff. And for those of you who think that The White Stripes was essentially a solo band... well, you're dead quackin' wrong. Meg's contribution to The White Stripes' sound was invaluable, and will never be replicated.
The White Stripes have so many good songs I just can't imagine Jack not playing them again, I hope somehow he does. If not, I'll hold onto that 2007 memory as long as I can.

I'd be excited for pretty much anything involving Jack White. I'm a 'roo virgin, so I don't really know what it's like, but I've been hearing a lot about this "Superjam," and I feel like no matter who is involved it will be great, but if Jack White were involved, it would be even better

I wouldn't be surprised to see Jack White go as far as to do a full set by himself this year, especially if he's likely to come anyway. I'm not counting on it but I know he could throw together a damn good set on the fly.

Jack White playing his first full solo set would be something huge and Bonnaroo would likely want to promote that and capitalize on it.
Jack White showing up unannounced to guest with his wife, Wanda Jackson, and Loretta Lynn is something that Roo could keep quiet and would lead to a lot of buzz about the festival.
Article about Jack White's newest project, a traveling record store . The article mentions after appearing at SXSW it will travel to various other shows and festivals. Perhaps Bonnaroo will be on that stop with Jack White himself driving?

Jack White will 100% be at Bonnaroo, as will the rolling Third Man Records Store (http://pitchfork.com/news/41824-jack-whites-latest-crazy-awesome-innovation-the-third-man-rolling-record-store).
The most likely place will be playing with Wanda Jackson and "The Third Man Band". Wanda is currently only billed as herself but seeing that most of the Third Man Band reside in Nashville, we may get a whole set with Jack on the axe.
A cameo during Loretta Lynn's set would not be too surprising (Portland, Oregon live would be amazing).
Jack's wife is playing, but he tends to let her do her own thing. He may be at the side of the stage watching in support but don't expect a guest appearance.
The dream scenario for any fan would have Jack being involved in the superjam with Dr. John and Dan Auerbach. I'm predicting some kind of Captain Beefheart (who passed this year)tribute involving all 3. If this happens I may poop and/or finish in my pants.

See y'all there!
I want to believe. But I don't trust brand new posters promising amazing things like this. Still......if what you say is true........I will be a happy boy.

I'd be pretty surprised if they wouldn't show up. Seems like the appropriate venue. All signs point to him being there with someone or all of them (Loretta, Wanda, Karen). My preference would be to Loretta. I like the Wanda Jackson album, but now nearly as much as the Van Lear Rose. That could turn anyway into a country music fan.

With all due respect, does having one as opposed to thousands of inforoo posts change the credibility of an individual? I think if somebody posts, makes sense and maybe even provides a little evidence it is relevant regardless of number of posts.

Quite frankly... yeah, kind of. Anybody can create an account and start some bogus rumors, but we figure someone who's been around here for a while and established some credibility probably isn't going to risk their credibility and get people all pissed off at them. If that seems jaded, it's just because we see those fake rumors pop up a few (thousand) times each year and get so tired of it all that we don't know who to believe.
All i'm trying to say is that there are people who have been to 9 Bonnaroos and have vast amounts of musical knowledge but have never posted on Inforoo as well as infinate other reasons as to why they are just as credible as say for instance, you.

Yes. It does.
Many, many people have signed up to this forum with the intention of lying or messing with people.
If and active member had posted some information it makes it easier to trust that person. When WolfmanJess or NoDepression or Garageland post a rumor or potential inside info I have more reason to believe them then a random poster who signed up for one thing. I know their track record and have seen their contributions.
Now that doesn't mean someone who just signed up is automatically wrong/lying. We don't dismiss everything a new poster says.
But when a brand new poster claims "Jack will 100% be there" without any real evidence then you can understand where i'm coming from.

In this instance you said this:
I think if somebody posts, makes sense and maybe even provides a little evidence it is relevant regardless of number of posts.
and in this specific example the poster made sense but provided no evidence. They just stated that Jack would 100% be there as if it were a fact.
If they provided some evidence I wouldn't have said that I didn't trust brand new posters with info like that. Also, if you read my post I give him the benefit of the doubt by saying "If what you say is true...".
