On her debut disc, The Ghost Who Walks, Karen Elson spins intriguingly unsettling tales of lost love, dashed hope, romantic betrayal and various crimes of passion witnessed only by the full moon. In a coolly inviting voice, strumming an acoustic guitar, she summons up a dark yet seductive atmosphere, an after-midnight world that’s irresistibly alluring. The arrangements for her small band – featuring the virtuosic Jackson Smith on guitar, Elson’s Citizens Band co-hort Rachelle Garniez on accordion and vocals, The Dead Weather’s Jack Lawrence on bass, My Morning Jacket’s Carl Broemel on pedal steel and producer Jack White on drums – evoke the lonesome feel of country (“Cruel Summer”), the tormented side of the blues (“The Truth Is In the Dirt”), or the haunted stories of traditional folk balladry (“Stolen Roses”).
Does that mean Jack White will def be there, and thus making the rounds for stand ins?
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

I think that means Jack played drums on her album. She's played shows here and there but I don't think Jack is always part of her band. But, as others have said, With Wanda Jackson and Loretta Lynn also there, and Jack living in Nashville, there is a distinct possibility.
Here's hoping a Jack White-curated Third Man Tent is one of the announcements.

Gotta wonder with Elson, Loretta Lynn, and Wanda Jackson all being there if they'll put them together in a tent and have him sit in all day like OCMS did last year in the Prine tent.
Jack is a member of the Third Man House Band, which is what has backed Wanda Jackson on previous tour dates. But the fact that the lineup did not say "Wanda Jackson and the Third Man House Band" makes me wonder if she'll be backed by them on this occasion. Nonetheless, I have a very good feeling he will be at Roo in some form.

I think it's entirely possible. It's in Tennessee, the lineup has 3 very recent collaborators of White (Wanda Jackson, Loretta Lynn, Karen Elson), and it's Bonnaroo's 10th anniversary. I wouldn't put it past Bonnaroo to have Jack show up as a surprise.
I recently bought tickets to see Wanda Jackson in March and the bill reads "Wanda Jackson, The Queen of Rockabilly with Dex Romweber Duo and special guest". Not sure who that special guest would be other than Jack, so if he tours with her this spring I see no reason why he wouldn't play with her at Roo, which is a much larger setting than her tour venues. His name not being billed with hers on the lineup could be due to an intended surprise appearance or simply out of respect for Wanda and not wanting to steal her thunder. Also, as others have said, with his wife, Wanda Jackson, and Loretta Lynn all in attendance, I would bet money on him being there.
Don't get your hopes up. I saw Karen Elson play the Speaking Clock Revue. Jack White did not show up.
Were Loretta Lynn (who Jack played guitar for and produced a grammy winning record) and Wanda Jackson (who Jack just produced a new album of and also played on the record and some live shows recently) also? Because that's where a lot of the hope is coming. If it was just one of them I'd say not to get hopes up. But all 3 of them being there? And in Tennessee?

But that wasn't the 10th anniversary of Bonnaroo And even if he didn't play a full set with her, I could see him coming out just to do a song or two. Plus, we have so many other collaborators/good buddies that will be there as well.
I think it's pretty likely some heads will explode

I am pretty sure Jack will be backing up his wife, with the other two this seems pretty obvious. JJust do not count on him doing much else.
This. With the three artists that are playing that he recently did work with (producing and playing in the band) he'll be there. but i doubt he does much more than those three.

I think theres a possibility of him coming out for a song or two during the Superjam, depending on what day Karen Elson and Wanda Jackson play/what day the SuperJam is.
As others have said, with Karen Elson, Loretta Lynn and Wanda Jackson already there, I would be pretty surprised if he wasn't there in some form - at the very least as a spectator, if not as a performer too. The fact that he only lives an hour up the road just makes it all the more likely. I doubt we'll get him as an official ad, but I could easily see a few surprise guest spots here and there.

Seems like something they are holding back just to make an announcement about later on.
Could be something like Jimmy Buffett was announced last year. Personally, I think it's possible that they don't announce it at all and it's just spread around by word of mouth after he shows up at one show.
