Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Come on. No one is ever going to like all the headliners. We're going to have a quote unquote classic act and U2 will most likely be that act. We're still going to have others that will be great. Calm down.
Dude I hope you are right - Arcade Fire or Radiohead or Daft Punk would make the festival - U2 just isn't epic enough for Roo X - it's effing Roo X!!! You are right though - we have to have a quote unquote classic band - I hope U2's it and not the Fri/Sat closer!!!!!
Thank you! U2 is not my first pick either, but I'm not going to complain and argue about how bad they are. Roo X is going to be awesome and we're going to get some awesome headliners.
I hope its true, Nashville u2 show is sold out(tickets), so this would be a great chance to see em. Plus I'd rather see them without the claw thing anyway
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
As much as I would hate the top 2 of the fake poster (u2, farthar), I would love that lineup, I counted 22 bands on that poster that were a "Fuck Yeah" for me personally.

Although Florence & the Machine would make for a great opening act.
A little perspective from one of us "older" attendees. U2 would not be my first choice but so much of music is totally subjective.
U2 have won 22 Grammys in total, from 34 nominations, more than any other band.[184] These include Best Rock Duo or Group, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Rock Album
U2 have sold more than 150 million records, placing them amongst the best-selling music artists of all-time. The Joshua Tree ranks as one of the best-selling albums in the US, having shipped 10 million units and it is also among the best-selling albums worldwide with sales of 25 million copies. Rolling Stone ranked U2 at number 22 in its list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time", while ranking Bono the 32nd greatest singer and The Edge the 24th greatest guitarist.
That being said I think the article is the product of a lazy journalist.

may be the dumbest post I've ever read----but don't feel bad; you got several other idiots making absurd statements in this thread.
U2>Radiohead>Daft PUnk (if you are Ashley Capps)
This is a band that has sold 7.5 million records in 6 years, defying the Napster age we currently live in----they deserve you respect whether you like them or not
Finally, why do people constantly bash Bono and his charitable work? it makes zero sense to me. I wish more rock artists took the initiative like him to make the world a better place. Cause this is such a negative thing for the world:

i guess artistic value gives way to commercial success in your distorted little world - I have to chuckle when you say they are "defying the napster age" with their success - could it be because the majority of U2 fans wouldn't know napster from thier a-hole - you included -Who uses napster anymore anyway - Napster went out with the ninties bro not unlike U2 or you're delerious notions. People who are saying that U2 couldn't be the "epic" band that we all wanted for Bonnaroo X...well think about this, it would be U2's first festival show since 1984! That's pretty insane, do not underestimate the back catalog of U2. Of course you have the singles and everything that everyone knows but Achtung Baby/Zooropa/Pop were all amazing albums that really bucked the mainstream.
Find an artist today that has made the jump from genre to genre that U2 did with The Joshua Tree to Achtung Baby and did it as equally successful. You will be hard pressed to find a better live act, even after you strip them down without their fancy lighting and staging.

If U2 is our KOL, we are doing pretty damn good guys.
Yep, I would probably enjoy it from camp inforoo, but it would speak well for the festival and make a lot of people happy. Personally I still do not believe it is going to happen, but it would not be a bad thing.

Ultimately I have nothing against U2 and like enough of there tunes from over the years.
If they are at Roo they have to step outside of the box though, I saw the 360 tour for free on the floors and yet I still left complaining about it being one of the worst shows I have ever seen.

diplomatically put sir - and I agree to an extent - it would not be a bad thing for the fest if they are not ZE BAND for the festival but if this is the best we're gettin, well then.........poo.

^If it is the best we are getting it is the biggest currently touring Rock and Roll act, that never plays festivals. Ain't nothing wrong with that.
still not buyin it - I don't see how they fit at Bonnaroo - there's just something incongruent about it. This is a forum where opinion's can be spouted and I'm spouting one now of course - I have never found anything satisfying in their music - they have never spoke to me. I couldn't care less about how commercially successful a band is only that they move me in some way. U2 doesn't - I am sure they have impacted some people - possibly in profound and magical ways - personally I don't get that from their music - That being said - and this is going against every natural urge and instinct - they would be a huge draw and I suppose would have a positive impact on attendence and when it comes down to it thats what organizers look for. Didn't mean to ruffle feathers but if this is true it's a disappointment for me.
