I hope KoL doesn't cancel just so people can continue to whine. Also, I hope they don't cancel because the idea of WSP playing makes me really angry.
I agree, I don't like wsp, imo it's a bunch of old dudes who though ABB and GD were really cool so they made a band....it's lame i don't get it. At least KOL has 50% good and original material even if the other half is crap and their music in general now seems to taking a backseat to their music. At least KOL had a few years where they were a good band and not a bunch of copy cats like wsp.
I think the rescheduled date supports them canceling, not that I'm banking on it, it would just be too good to be true.
They have a big gap between their Roo show and their next show in the UK, which could just be a courtesy for fans to make new plans, but still, they could be trying to take as much time as possible to heal him up.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

I do. I don't mind them. Would I like it to be Daft Punk or Arcade Fire or Neil Young? Sure. MMJ? Sure, but they aren't "headliner" status yet (I love 'em but they aren't a top 4 on the bill band quite yet, despite their epic 2008 set).
They are going to bring it. They're going to play a lot of old stuff, probably a few songs off their new album (the hits), but I think people are going to be really pleased with their set. The negativity about them is just stupid. If you don't like them, no one is forcing you to see them. I hate Phish and DMB and I found ways around their godawful music last year and I will this year.
The absolute best way fix this debacle, would be to give Umphrey's Mcgee the time slot that KOL currently holds. I dont care what all you UM haterz have to say, UM is on the rise. They are getting better and better each year with no end in sight. UM will eventually headline Roo, why not just make it now

This ^^^ or just move flaming lips to headline and um to the flips spot
Kings of who????? it doesn't really matter if they cancel there's already so much to see do we really need more? But I do have one thought.
Have Damian Marley do a solo set (Maybe just wishful thinking). If you haven't seen Damian before you don't know what your missing, even if you don't know his music he put's on one hell of a show.
I recommend to anyone that likes Damian come down to Miami around the end of February for Marley Fest it's one of the few times you can see all of the Marley brothers (except Ziggy, he hasn't showed up in years) and sometimes a Marley sister Rita usually makes a appearance and Mama Booker was there every year until she passed. Best one day festival I've been to, next year I will make it 12 years in a row.
I agree that the cancelation of this show will probably save his voice for Friday but since this thread is really more for wild speculation and revisiting the fact that many of us don't feel that KOL are worthy of Roo headliner status....
I suspect that Superfly/AC has been in touch with Uncle Neil. His tour is about to take a break for a couple of weeks so he is free. They have also promoted his current tour.
While it may not bring them in much additional revenue with a headliner change at this point, they are still advertising walk up tix in Manchester for what seems like the first time. In addition, fielding the festival sans one headliner does tarnish the festival's image a bit even if they are under no technical obligation to replace a dropout.
I would also love it if My Morning Jacket were to step up and be the first Roo undercard to headline instead of KOL. They deserve to be known for it more than KOL since they have done more to contribute to the festival's legacy than possibly any other artist.
Finally, arguably less headliner-worthy than Neil or MMJ but with potential would be Arcade Fire. They are prepping for a tour and don't have anything on the books for those dates. Roo fans would be very satisfied.

I bet the Bakerton Group is going to be pissed. No self righteous HIPSTER CIRCLE JERK will happen at their gig as promised.
So because a lot of people on this board, who have fairly given KOL a chance, do not want to be anywhere near their craptacular performance on What Friday night, butinstead want to see an instrumental version of Clutch, a group far from hipsters radars, they're participating in a "HIPSTER CIRCLE JERK?"
That's wrong on so many levels. Enjoy Use Somebody for the millionth time.
I did not mean for this thread to turn into a I hate KoL thread. It was more for letting people know that they cancelled the show this week and see if any thought AC/Superfly would bother adding a headliner at this point, but threads have a mind of their own. That being said I really like the MMJ idea!

love it. why the hell not! they're infinitely more talented than KOL (imo) and would make for an incredible night show! i'm wishing. hard.
