Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
How many of you that said you want to donate have done so? Has anyone helped him out...because he started another thread asking for help. If you don't have a problem and like his choice, then why haven't you helped him out yet?
If Chris or Joel let's me know what I can do to help - then I will.
I don't have a problem with his choice Brook - but that does not mean I like it either - but it is his life and his choice. Yay that we live somewhere where we can choose.
There are those of us that got warm fuzzy feelings for helping him out last year and if I get warm fuzzy feelings helping him out this year - then that would be a good thing also. He gets something and I get something. Seems like a win-win situation to me.
He obviously feels close enough to the inforoo family to put himself out there and say something about a ticket - why jump on him for asking?

But, like...Lou said he would...so should we wait for him to answer you?
So, what, is that one person willing to donate (2 with Meg)?
I'm just trying to get the people that are angry with those that don't think he should be given money to donate to what they feel so strongly about. That's not too much, is it?
Weatherbill offered to take care of him if he would volunteer to do a 12 hour shift on the gate or something on another thread. What happened to that. He said he would do almost anything. Seems like a reasonable offer.
No, this isn't the case this year.......Have your read anywhere in here where I said that I was going to help him out? Nope....Know why???? Becasue I'm not.......
I CHOOSE not to help out Kramer this year.....But here I am in here trying to defend those who want to..... ???
And I'm trying to defend those who don't want to help. That's all.
And that is the VERY point of the entire argument....Why are you defending those who dont want to help in a thread that is asking for help.

Its not that they are angry or feel strongly that people dont want to donate (speaking for myself here), I personally dont care if anyone donates or not and will not be angry with anyone no matter thier choice. The strong feelings are coming from the fact that there are epople on here who think they need to continually come inot a thread about donating, and bash the people who want to donate.
It has absolutely NOTHING to do with anyones desire not to donate....

If Kramer were serious about this, then why didn't he come back to this thread? Why did he start a new one?
It doesn't seem to me that he wants to answer anyone's questions or get people to see his viewpoint, but rather ask for money. That doesn't seem right.
And that is the VERY point of the entire argument....Why are you defending those who dont want to help in a thread that is asking for help.
Just dont post....simple as that!
Because it's my opinion. Are you going to tell me I can't voice my opinion? I haven't been mean or insulting to anyone.
I guess I can word it the same way you do O.....You can express any opinion you like, I am just (your words) trying to "understand"......why people need to continually come in and bash those who want to help, or try to encourage people not to help. Understand, I am not talking about you specifically, go back read both posts, it is easy to tell who I am referring to....

So, I refuse to waste my time reading all these posts since I last read yesterday... but here's the outline.
1) Kramer starts thread asking for help getting a ticket 2) People Argue 3) Biglou comes to the rescue and offers to buy a ticket 4) ...this is where arguing should stop, because it's not going to change anyone's mind.
If you insist on arguing, exchange telephone numbers or email addresses or whatever you feel fit to do and just whine to each other.
Or, you can go outside and scream in your best Cartman voice, "GUDDDAAAMMM HIPPPIEEESSS!!!!"
...cause that would make me feel a lot better probably

This is my last post about this because I don't care anymore. (To no one in particular.)
If you want to donate, then please do so. Help him out if it will make you feel better. Don't talk about how you love his lifestyle and respect that he chooses not to work and then get upset at the people that disagree. Don't tell people they are wrong or are being mean if they don't want to give and voice their opinion as to why they don't want to give. This is a forum that has discussions.
Again, if you donate, then donate. If you're on here saying how he should be helped and then DON'T donate, then why are you in this thread? It's the same as someone coming on here and saying they won't donate.
If Kramer were serious about this, then why didn't he come back to this thread? Why did he start a new one?
It doesn't seem to me that he wants to answer anyone's questions or get people to see his viewpoint, but rather ask for money. That doesn't seem right.
Not to kick the hornets' nest or anything, but it would stand to reason that a guy without a ticket who walked here might not find the easiest time getting at a computer... or, like, sleeping indoors and stuff... so maybe he didn't have time to read through the FIVE PAGES of everyone bashing him back and forth for asking and asked again out of desperation. Maybe that's why he started a new one. I don't know... I don't have a dog in this fight, so I'll back out. But the perspective of others and why they do what they do is never an easy thing to understand... just go easy and hope that people return the favor when maybe you do something they might disagree with...

I know I said I wouldn't post again, but I have to respond.

Well, he had resources to get here twice. If he were serious, he should want to know if people would help him out. How is anyone supposed to contact him anyway? I would also think he would have the time if he can show up several weeks early for Bonnaroo. I'm not being mean here, but I just feel like he is wanting money for nothing. And again, that is my opinion folks.

I would never ask people for money if I chose not to work. There is a difference between favors and freeloading.

Roofan:
I have not bashed those who want to help. It's their money, and they'll do with it as they wish.
I am encouraging people NOT to give to this guy's cause. Why? because it's obvious that after last year (during which I kept my mouth shut), Kramer thinks he can be irresponsible and the good folks at Inforoo will bail him out. That is taking advantage of a fine and good-natured community, and I think it's wrong. It's sorta like feeding the bears. If we keep encouraging this kind of behavior, it will only lead to more people with "unconventional" lifestyles to come here looking for a handout. I don't want that on this board.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
I understand how you feel, and there is a difference between favors and freeloading. There's also a difference between asking and demanding/taking... Just like we've all used this board to ask for advice or some even for rides (yet this isn't freeloading?)...
Also (and I don't know this guy from Adam, so I'm going out on a limb here) there's always the possibility that he can't work. Able-bodied isn't always able-minded. My point with the perspective thing you quoted was that you never know exactly where someone is coming from. It's nice that you feel that if you CHOSE not to work you would never ask people for money... But something tells me that you may feel differently if you were in that position, even if it were chosen... Depends on the amount of need/desire I suppose...
