Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I have read about and followed this Kramer character since last year. It was an interesting tale and Kramer was the recipient of an incredible amount of generosity. However, for him to come on here after an entire year that could have been spent planning on how to get to Roo and ask for a handout is APPALLING. I don't see how anyone can have any amount of respect for that. He had ample time to:
1. Work and buy a ticket. 2. Arrange to be a volunteer then be there for free, legitimately. 3. Arrange to work at the festival. He can see bands between shifts.
He deserves no respect for his actions this year. It seems last year he MAY have gotten a raw deal, but I'm not even sure of that after reading his friend and (former) girlfriend talk about his actions and character. I hate to say it, but their is a chance he hoodwinked the good folks of Inforoo last year.
Just because he's a "free spirit" doesn't mean he can't find some way to earn some loot. I have an incredible amount of freedom in my life too, but I take personal responsibility seriously and I EARN the money it takes to go on adventures like Bonnaroo and what not.
wow. somehow i doubt this is kramer. i cant imagine someone would try to ask the people who helped him out in a bad spot for a handout because he dosent have his shit together. if he can find a way from cali or whereever to roo each year he can buy a ticket. makes me feel better about my decision to not chip in last year. the handout hippies bother the shit outta me. other then that i dont have anything nice to say and others have stated how i feel about it pretty well.
Your "revolution" is over, Mr. Lebowski! Condolences! The bums lost!
...My advice is, do what your parents did! Get a job, sir! The bums will always lose-- do you hear me, Lebowski? THE BUMS WILL ALWAYS LOSE!

I remember this from when I was a lurker last year, it actually was one of the reasons I joined for this year rather than just stealing good information. Felt I might be abl eto contribute somewhere along the way. I do not get the impression of balanced reprocity with this kramer fellow.

I gotta echo what many others have said. Kramer, you seem like a clever, able-bodied person. You clearly have the ability to work for your own ticket. Make the money to buy one, or make a deal with someone for an extra ticket. In the other thread weatherbill even offered you a free pass if you work a volunteer shift at the festival. That's a really nice deal right there! But please, it's so rude and disrespectful to all these people to come back and ask them for help for no other reason than they like you and they did it before. This message board is a whole community of people who help other people in various ways, every day, but we haven't made a habit of buying each others' tickets. That would pass a basic, unspoken threshold of human indecency. There's no good reason for you to come on here and try to do that when most of these people maintain that you haven't done anything in return for them. You are loved, but being loved doesn't have to mean getting a free ticket.
He's just asking...you guys seem like you would be the types to shout at the hobo on the corner. Relax guys...just ignore it if you don't want to help him.
^I feel exactly the same way.. but I'm torn - I've got to agree with outofround when he says: 'I do not get the impression of balanced reprocity with this kramer fellow.'
Well put... yet my more-liberal side says 'Does that matter? Give if you can... we've all been there'... Like I said, I'm torn.

sascwatch, I hear what you're saying, but that is kind of a brash assumption. In my experience, most homeless people do NOT have the capacity to take care of themselves, to support themselves. They truly do need help. In fact, many have been incapacitated through serving in our armed forces, so in a way they've already given something to me, so shouldn't I give to them? Kramer does not strike me as in the same situation. He seems like a freeloader, plain and simple. He's young and healthy and seems pretty smart and is obviously likeable, so there's nothing really stopping him from going out and earning the ticket himself! He did say that he was willing to do anything for a ticket, and I think he should get more credit for that, so long as he meant it. I support you, Kramer! Earn your way!

To start off with, in the nicest way possible, I think you are a big meanie
...That being said, this guy (whom, for the record I had not heard of before this thread just to clarify) is just merely asking for help. He is not begging, being rude, or stealing anything. He's posting on Inforoo for HELP! Now, think to yourself, how many times have you asked inforoo for help on anything. Doesn't matter what it is. Chances are you have asked for advice on some sort of issue whether it's camping or how bonnaroo works or something. If you don't want to help this Kramar fellow out, then don't. It's that simple. Not everyone is so fortunate to have a house and a car and a job (which often relies heavily on the former two). He's offering to get in to Roo "legitimately" by giving his hardwork and willpower in exchange for something that he doesn't have, which is money.
Just leave him alone if you don't like what he's doing and don't want to help him. Personally, I'm not going to help him out but I see absolutely no reason to insult his character. It all goes along with the open mindedness of Bonnaroo.
Im not going to put my 2 cents in this discussion cause its just another thread for people to bicker about their difference in opinion but I will say if this is the real Kramer, I hope everything works out for you. Everyone deserves to be at Roo. Where theres a will, theres a way.
what i don't understand is.. is $250 really THAT much money? I mean I'm paying my way through Computer School with a crappy Pizza Delivery job and I not only had enough for the ticket but I have about $700 I'm taking with me. And I still cover my bills.
Makes me feel rich if $250 is a lot of money. Just my two cents. Tip your Pizza man, he may be fixing your computer one day! /I'm a dork.

i have more respect for kramer asking for some help rather then all of you talking bad about him behind his back
With all due respect, I am not talking about Kramer behind his back. I am addressing his post in a thread that he started. This is the most direct way to talk to him that I can think of.
I think it is him - and I hope he posts in imeem - seems like a good solution to me - if it is good enough for will and dani to do - then it should be good enough for Kramer
"He's offering to get in to Roo "legitimately" by giving his hardwork and willpower in exchange for something that he doesn't have, which is money."
Has anyone contacted him directly yet? Is he taking someone up on that volunteer offer? Does he have a good reason for waiting until one week out to try to earn his ticket to Roo?

I just don't understand how someone able-bodied enough to get to a computer and make a post wouldn't be able bodied enough to work 1 shift for a ticket. One shift for a $250 ticket? shit. That guy will end up making that money faster than I ever did...
