Just a helpful suggestion. He said he would do anything. Contributing to society and working to earn something is a viable alternative to begging for handouts.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
He didnt say "hey guys, want to buy me a ticket?" he said he'd be willing to do almost anything for one, this could include doing some work for someone over the next week that they consider worth a bonnaroo ticket.
If he were able to work 40 hours over the next week for someone and lets say they only considered his time worth 6 bucks... thats 240 dollars.
In my opinion though, he didnt come out and say "buy me a ticket"

^ The issue is that a lot of people on here pooled money last year to get him a ticket because of a really bad situation. He'd apparently arranged to work the festival in order to get in, and that did not work out. He showed up again this year without a ticket and a few people are upset about that.

I think there is nothing wrong with him asking "i got no cash but am willing to do almost anything to get in again this year". That isn't saying, hey will all of you pitch in and buy me a ticket?
I am all for barter, the more transactions outside of our capitalistic society, the better. I've read the whole thread last year, and the majority said they respected the way he lived. Now because he is still living the same way he's some sort of mooch? All he did was offer to exchange whatever services he can provide for something with an assigned monetary value. To me that fits the definition of a job.

I'm just saying it comes off to me as kinda rude. I wasn't thrilled about the whole Kamp Kramer thing last year, but I kenpt my mouth shut and let everyone do what they felt was a good deed and help this guy out.
Fast forward a year. Kramer knew he wanted to go to Roo. He had a year to find work at the fest or volunteer w/ clean vibes. He's had a year to work and stash some cash away for a ticket. and a week before the fest he shows up here again asking for help. That strikes me as kinda dickish. I'm all for helping people in a bad situation, but this just smacks of helpless hippie syndrome. He found a place that was nice to him in the past, and has returned a year hense to exploit them again. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all. I'm just advocating a little personal responsibility.

Sooooo....just don't give him money this time, right? People are really pissed on here. Don't let it get to you.

I'm not saying we should all pitch in and buy him a ticket. Adam and I had to eat ramen for about a month to be able to buy our tickets, being full time students it was hard to pull off but we wanted to go so bad we made sacrifices.
I just don't understand the hostility towards him. I respect anyone that isn't hurting or bothering me. He's done neither. Hell, maybe he hasn't posted back cause he's been working so hard to get a ticket.
Nothing could make me negative right now.... I'm going to BONNAROOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
fool me once shame on you! fool me twice shame on me!
although i like the way bush says it better.
but good luck to kramer. i think erveryone should get into roo. but imo roo is earned. its not just a right if you show up and ask for handouts. its all good to be willing to do anything a week before the show but where was that attitude a month ago when getting a job and earning some money would have fallen under the "ill do anything" category. how does he keep affording to make it to manchester but is then magically short the cash for a ticket? and its not like he came around inforoo and posts all the time. just when hes at the gate without a ticket. again i hope he gets in but it definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth and i didnt even donate. helpless handout hippies are only around because kind souls keep enabling them to be around. i dont know if this applies to kramer but this is how it all comes off to me. im sure kramer is a good dude. but its just a fact that the people that need the handouts to get a ticket are the same people bothering you for food, water, and beer inside. and they are the ones who walk off with your stuff while your at the show. not saying kramer is doing that. but that happens alot. and i seem to remember somethings along that line happening last year with the whole krame situation. just too much sketch and drama for me. but hey more power to him. i wish someone would get my ticket every year.

wow, you guys need to relax a little... Kramer has done nothing. if you can't help....move on to the next thread. I'm sure he doesn't even have enough computer time to read all this anyway.

People keep saying that those of us bothered by his post need to relax (as above) and that we shouldn't argue about it. But do you not notice that the arguing is happening by those on the other side countering us with such suggestions to "relax" and "ignore it"? The reason it bothers me is that, when I read the posts about him from roofanintn, teine, annaparker, and others who know him personally, and talk about what he's done and what he's doing, the subtext that shouts out at me is that he is a self-centered guy who is taking advantage of good people for personal gain. It's not like I'm taking it personally, because I know he's not just asking ME for a handout or something. Rather, I'm annoyed that, to me (because I haven't met him and I might be totally wrong), he seems to be freeloading on these fine people and their goodwill. If that is indeed what's happening, then I would be very pissed, and I'd want to do something to look out for our Inforoo friends.
The thing is though, a lot of people are acting like he is asking all of us to buy him a ticket.. I just don't think thats the case.
Yes he did show up unprepared for roo, yes he could've set up a volunteer bit with either the festival or clean vibes, yes he doesn't have a job and hasn't saved up like he should've
But he isn't asking us to buy him a ticket, as was stated in another post, he is trying to find a way at the last minute to barter in some way for a ticket. If you don't want to buy him a ticket, then dont! I sure wont either!
He very well may not make it into roo this year.. Last year was a completely different situation where he'd actually set things up to volunteer, and the good folks around here helped him out when he got screwed over.

I think this is about as close as a post is going to get to reflecting my feelings. As one of those who threw a few bucks into the pot for his ticket last year, I can say that I'm a little disappointed he hasn't come up with the ability to get in on his own this year.
Kramer, if you actually end up reading this thread, you know as well as any of us that you could have made this kind of money with a few days of manual labor. I truly hope you make it in and I get to hang with you again this year, but there doesn't seem to be any unfortunate happening or mistreatment that lead to your situation this year -- unless there's something we're missing.
For those of you taking cheap shots...if you don't want to be bothered with him, why must you be bothered posting about him?

POSITIVE NOTE............
I just wanted to say (regardless of Kramers situation this year) what inforoo did for him last year was truly amazing!! I love doing what I can to help people, and seeing people get together and do what you did for Kramer shows me that the world (or some people in it) still has some compassion left.
And if I win the lottery between now and next year, I will buy you ALL a ticket!!!!
Really guys, great job last year. Try not to lose sight of the positive!!

All I'm gonna say is those of you going on and on about "why don't you just get a job like the rest of us" are oblivious to a rather important part of society.
Not everyone has/can get jobs easily.
Example: My girlfriend just graduated with a Psych degree at a relatively well known University. She had over a 3.0 GPA when she graduated. Sounds like a pretty good start coming out of college, right? Well she has been looking for a solid job since January and still hasn't found anyone to hire her besides the grocery store that she's worked part time at since she first got a car, and the only reason she can work there is because she has a reliable source of transportation. This Kramar guy, whom I've stated before I do not know nor know anything about, but it doesn't sound like he's got any reliable transportation other than his two feet, which most companies don't like to hear.
Maybe some of you should open your eyes and realize not everyone can just walk in a place and walk out an hour later with a job.
well ill just leave kramer out of it. i dont know him. but on the job front anyone that can walk and is capable of manual labor can get a job and afford roo. it might not be your dream job but you can flip burgers, make pizzas, cut grass, change oil, etc... it isnt glamarous but its better then looking for handouts imo. lots of people dont have cars. i was 19, with an infant, a sick girlfriend who couldnt work, and no car. and i managed to have a job, an apartment, and get a car after a while. i rode the bus to my job at a pizza place at night and caught a ride home with someone or walked home when i got off. it wasnt fun. it wasnt glamorous. it sucked ass. and i still could have saved up and made roo if it was important to me. its what people do to take care of their responsibilities. but some people choose not to do that. people who are capable of handling their responsibilites and dont and then ask those who do for freebies are going to evoke a negative reaction from most people. its just the way it is. so thats why i think so many people have spoken up. plus arent we all hear to kill time and discuss our thoughts on different subjects? thats why i post.
again hes only popped up on inforoo twice. both times at the gate in need of a ticket. if he was even a little bit involved in the inforoo community in any way but looking for something maybe people would give him the benfit of the doubt a bit more. he would have known there was a ticket give away that he could have entered. and its only 250 dollars. get a job flipping burgers at wendys now and you can make that by roo.
people who pay thousands upon thousands of dollars to go to college for something and cant get a job afterwards are in a tough spot. but its all in what you decide to invest your money in. there are fields where there is a large demand for workers and there are those with not so much. invest that money in something thats gonna be worth it. i know way too many college graduates that work in the service industry making less then their boss that might not even have a ged. i have a friend that just graduated for interior design. shes gonna be working at dairy queen and mall stores forever. i feel for her but it was her choice to spend thousands to learn something that she cant get a job doing. atleast your girlfriend is likely to find a job eventually and when she does she will be making a nice salary. my friend dosent even have that going for her. any job she gets with her degree wont pay much more then the jobs shes working now. oh well i hope it works out for both of them. and for kramer too...

I will buy this guy a ticket if someone will tell me how it can be done. It's too late to order and have it delivered to me. So, can someone closer to the event do it and I will send the money through paypal or however you want. Message me, or send to my email jlevasseur06@yahoo.com I'm at work all night and will be waiting for instructions. I would prefer if an administrator could take care of this. I will be checking my mail and this site on the hour until I get a response.
It's BONNAROO my friends, let's spread the love. ;D

Karma for you, my friend.
Not only have you made an incredible act of kindness, but you potentially could have put an end to a seemingly endless debate!
While I certainly hope BigLou's very kind offer is legit and that Kramer will be joining us all, it doesn't mean I can't also wish that he had been able to get in through his own efforts. Ya know, it's possible to be really happy with an outcome, without believing the events leading up to it were 100% ideal. Not everything is so black and white, folks!

I've sent a PM to Teine, hopefully someone closer to the event can buy the ticket and get it to Karmer. I will transfer the money to where it needs to go. This will be a second chance for Karmer. My opinion is, three strikes and you are out. I don't want anything except for him to make a real effort to correct his life. If he comes back to us next year this way, I won't even acknowledge I ever heard of him before. This is your last chance my friend.
