Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I think its funny that you assume you know exactly why CoS handled that poll the way they did even though you have no idea.
I will flat out say Bonnaroo did not send it to them that way, I do not believe it, and never will. Bonnaroo would not send out a poll asking if people wanted to see someone who could not possibly be there.
Also since I just noticed Ollo is Alex Young, I will furthermore say that getting on inforoo and repeating the crap we throw around is not a very good source for Bonnaroo info, because I am pretty sure at this point no one on here knows anything about who would headline. He does give inforoo props and I respect that, but I do not consider it a good source of information if you are already a member of this board, because nothing new will be brought to the table.
What fiasco do you speak of? They pretty much nailed all the major lineup leaks down to a tee last year.
I heard who was headlining in October, and was sure by November. It is not like it was that great of a feat.
Let's see, it's called marketing, and yes, the poll did come from Bonnaroo. I have no reason to waste my time making such a widget/poll. We have marketing partnerships with several festivals, including Bonnaroo. All I was given was the embed code. I had no ability to manipulate or change what was on there.
As for sources, that's your own call. You can do your own google search to see who broke McCartney at Coachella in 2009, and while Bruce and Phish were very rumored, we were the first publication to confirm them.
I normally don't respond to message board berating, but I am still a music fan at heart and a fan of Inforoo and what the people on this message board do. And it's kind of lame that my name gets tarnished for absolutely no reason. But live and learn I suppose.

Ok so Bonnaroo sent you a poll to allow people to vote on acts they want to see even though several would be unavailable, with no links to the site then changed it. If you say so I will give you that though I still find it very hard to believe Superfly AC would do anything that irresponsible.
However the root of what really bothers me is that rumors get reinforced on here because one person who probably has no idea brings something up then see's it repeated online, when in reality it is the same source. Also I am pretty sure Rolling Stone was the first to confirm the headliners last year. Like I said you give us props but very rarely have I seen Bonnaroo news firsthand on your site.

For what it's worth Bonnaroo's website mentions COS. I think that's a pretty good indication that they have some sort of relationship and it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for them to send along that poll. Why would Alex lie?

Well like I said I will give him that, or at least let it lie. Of course the other side is why would Bonnaroo send a poll like that out, really neither one makes sense to me.

Maybe it was because the person who made the widget included then the names and then they were changed by others in hopes of not disappointing people... ever think of that possibility?
And every confirmation and rumor posted is checked and re-checked. Yes, some originate from here (and thank goodness for that!), but we do our own fact checking. That's all I can say. You can make your own judgements based on that.
Becuase jess has already said COS is full of crap so much that he's staking his reputation on it or something, it doesn't really matter if Roo made it or not since there isnt really any indication that any of those bands would be on the lineup.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

Well why would the widget people include names of artists who were already booked elsewhere? Someone has egg on their face over that whole incident, and like I said I will give it to you, and stop bringing it up.
As to confirmation rumor checking, well like I said I have never considered COS a very good source of info for our board members that is not to say for someone cruising the interwebs for info it is bad. However most of the quality info, from the clues to the leaks originates on here imo.
I go to COS often and I really dont care if some or most of their ROO info is from this site. Thanks to them I dont need to read through pages and pages of banter on inforoo for rumors. THEY do it for me! COS is the Cliffnotes for inforoo

I just see as a situation that you would rather have him late than to never have him.
If they did I would really hope for Ringo's allstar band to be there as well, and then to have a Beatles Superjam with Trey sitting in for George, and Robyn Hitchcock sitting in for John. Not that it would happen, but I would hope for it.
^^^ this would be amazing
i, for one, would love to see thousands of people singing along to the beatles at Roo

I actually saw Paul 5th row a few years ago ~ and it was amazing. My fave Beatle is George but I was so excited to get to see Paul anyway! He was really real and told lots of stories, and did 'special' things for the show. He was a great performer, and made it like he was just there hanging out with everyone for the evening. Definitely awesome! I would love to see him again anyday!
Has Bonnaroo ever had a composer/orchestra at the farm? I think that would be such an amazing experience. Imagine a composer leading a full orchestra performing the score from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly at nite. How unbelievable would that be? That'd be a truly unique experience.

if the lineup looks like this i will seriously cream my pants.

I don't know if anyone has brought this up yet, but could "Yes" be a possible headliner? They've only posted a winter tour which leaves the summer wide open for now.

I grew up worshipping Rock and Roll like a religion. I know its shortcomings and strengths but have loved it unconditionally all the same since I was eight-years old. I ran away and joined the circus and honestly, I'm still as obsessed as I was as a boy. I'm not a kid anymore but I still remember how it felt and it doesn't really feel all that different to me now.

^ headliner, no, but I would personally love to see them in a tent, even without Anderson as I hear the new singer is more than acceptable as a replacement. Unfortunately they cancelled a bunch of dates last spring before I was going to see them in Houston... given the individual members' health I wouldn't look too far ahead with these guys but I'd be hopeful if you're a fan.
Friday Coldplay (that band that hasn't been around for 10 years (CoS clue), I knew Coldplay would play Bonnaroo one day, especially right after headlining ACL in 05, I'm okay with it and I'm not gay because I listen to Coldplay) Kings of Leon (Beasties spot from last year, I knew they were too big to headline) The Killers (Byrne's spot from last year, pretty good alternative to KoL, think they fit well in the dark, it was only time before they make an appearance on the farm)
Saturday The Who (Super Bowl, need I say more?) Furthur (latenight Which Stage, bring back the Dead presence and do it right, the night time is the right time) Them Crooked Vultures (JPJ, Grohl, Homme = great opening to the Who)
Sunday Dave Matthews Band (hasn't been since 05, a decent amount of people leave Sunday, a decent amount could care less about Dave, fits "jammy" spot pretty good, downside is they're everywhere every summer and I've seen them 25+ times)
Why no McCartney or Waters: sadly I just don't see it happening
Why no TAB: two shows in Tennessee on tour they just announced
Why no U2: out for Saturday, wouldn't be Sunday, U2 and Coldplay in the same year? I don't think so. Although I'd say Dave and Coldplay share a lot of the same fanbase, which actually doesn't look good in writing now that I mention it
*If I had money to buy another ticket, I would bet that ticket that this is the lineup we get.
*I kind of also think that Soundgarden could be a good fit in the NIN spot from last year. Possibly move Furthur to open for DMB on Sunday. For now, I'm sticking with what I've got up there.

I agree with your thinking about 90% of the time but Coldplay, KOL, and The Killers all in the same day? That's ludicrous for a number of reasons.

The Who / Bruce Springsteen Coldplay / Phish Dave Matthews Band / Beastie Boys Kings Of Leon / Nine Inch Nails Killers / David Byrne Furthur / Wilco
09 DESTROYS that lineup and i like The Who a lot more than Springsteen.
Coldplay, KOL, and Killers on the same day would be cringeworthy.
