Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Oh, I am seeing David Bazan in Asheville in March! So, elaborate on not playing Roo. He's a brilliant songwriter and I always want to hear how he feels about things.. Does he just not like Roo? I could kind of see that.
Hmmm...I wonder why as well? He would be well received at Roo I believe...he IS a great songwriter and performer. He was here not too long ago, and already booked again within the next month or a few I believe...and he's playing at a real dive ( a good dive, but a dive)...so maybe he just doesn't like large crowds??? Who knows.
As far as i could tell it is the crowd thing. if you look at his tours the venues are always quite small and it keeps a certain intimacy to his shows. I remember a couple years ago he did a house tour (went around the country and played in people houses). And also from what i heard he has a European tour in the works for this summer.
I don't know that we would see either of them, I would like Waters though. That being said as far as I am concerned Alex Young has little or no credibility, after some of the COS fiasco's recently. I seriously doubt 'roo would book Paul the year after he played Coachella.

They might make an exception, considering that Macca has said his last tour will be in 2010.

^ thats what makes me think bonnaroo may go after sir paul. i've also heard he may not tour after this year. bonnaroo can't miss out on the chance to get a beatle. whether you like him or not, he was part of the most important band in the history of rock and roll. coachella got him, so why shouldn't we?
I just see as a situation that you would rather have him late than to never have him.
If they did I would really hope for Ringo's allstar band to be there as well, and then to have a Beatles Superjam with Trey sitting in for George, and Robyn Hitchcock sitting in for John. Not that it would happen, but I would hope for it.

That is pretty much the only situation in which I would be interested in seeing Macca.
Here more fuel to the Roger Waters fire I hope he can crunch Bonnaroo in his numbers like he wont make any money at Bonnaroo!!!! Biggest captive audience in North America I say. Interesting though soon we should find out about this. About a month now!!!!!!!
1-1-12 Bassnectar NYE SHOW! 1-21-12 G. Love and Special Sauce 3-1-12 Radiohead 3-9-12 Experience Hendrix 5-15-12 Jack White @ The Ryman 6-7-12 Bonnaroo 6-19-12 Roger Waters presents "THE WALL" 7-7-12 Ringo Starr's 72nd Birthday Party Extravaganza at the Ryman
For the first time ever, Starr produces himself on his most personal album yet. Ringo is joined on Y Not by old and new friends including Paul McCartney, with whom Starr sings on Y Not’s stunning first single, “Walk With You,” a moving new song about the power of friendship. Ringo meets Hip-O on Starr’s latest solo effort released January 12th on Hip-O Records/UMe
^I like him, and would like the show, I just do not see Bonnaroo letting Coachella drink their milkshake like that.
This is my reasoning as well. However if Roo somehow got U2 and Macca it wouldn't matter if they were "copying", it would be a big step up from Coach 09 and Paul could play a 70% different set, relying more on Roots and psychedelic tunes
get back day tripper ive got a feeling obladi-oblada day in the life/give peace a chance fool on the hill let me roll it fixing a hole mother nature's son two of us i'm down carry that weight sgt. peppers magical mystery tour lady madonna ive just seen a face paperback writer
then throw in the musts like
Hey Jude, Jet, Let It Be, Eleanor Rigby, Band on the Run, Yesterday, Helter Skelter, Live and Let Die, Blackbird, Maybe Im Amazed, and We Can Work It Out and you have perhaps the greatest Roo set of all time.
Not that it would happen because i don't see U2 being billed second at their first NA festival. Whoever is Saturday is gonna be a slight step below U2 imo.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
^I am really doubting we get U2 at this point as well. There is just no buzz about it other than here, and usually the biggest bands like that really are only going to play one festival a year.

Well i've heard no who and waters and stones, you say no macca or u2. what is gonna be on par with last year who had 4 headlining caliber names and one of the mt. rushmore of rock and roll (Springsteen).
Neil could always play, phish could come back, maybe dave, or coldplay, but all the options seem very anticlimactic barring a big surprise like peter gabriel, outkast, or daft punk.

A Beatles Superjam would be hyperepic, legendary, one for the history books. The event could not be advertised for fear of unmanageable crowd size.

If I had to guess right now, leaving out my personal likes and dislikes I would go with.
Friday DMB split with KOL neither are big enough by themselves together it would be fine. LN MMJ

Tool was booked a year after Coachella had them headline Radiohead was booked two years after they headlined Coachella
I can understand your argument, but think its a possibility. Especially since other big names like The Who, Rolling Stones, and U2 are looking much less likely

Could you elaborate some? I'm interested to know which fiasco you're referencing?

What fiasco do you speak of? They pretty much nailed all the major lineup leaks down to a tee last year.

Mainly their poll, and the way they changed it. Plus their sources tend to be pretty weak.
Edit
Sorry I just noticed, I meant your poll and the way you changed it.
