The Who / Bruce Springsteen Coldplay / Phish Dave Matthews Band / Beastie Boys Kings Of Leon / Nine Inch Nails Killers / David Byrne Furthur / Wilco
I would honestly probably not go if the big names on the lineup was set up like that. Or just go for one day and try to buy a cheap wristband off of someone.
Friday Coldplay (that band that hasn't been around for 10 years (CoS clue), I knew Coldplay would play Bonnaroo one day, especially right after headlining ACL in 05, I'm okay with it and I'm not gay because I listen to Coldplay) Kings of Leon (Beasties spot from last year, I knew they were too big to headline) The Killers (Byrne's spot from last year, pretty good alternative to KoL, think they fit well in the dark, it was only time before they make an appearance on the farm)
I agree with your thinking about 90% of the time but Coldplay, KOL, and The Killers all in the same day? That's ludicrous for a number of reasons.
Saturday The Who (Super Bowl, need I say more?) Furthur (latenight Which Stage, bring back the Dead presence and do it right, the night time is the right time) Them Crooked Vultures (JPJ, Grohl, Homme = great opening to the Who)
Sunday Dave Matthews Band (hasn't been since 05, a decent amount of people leave Sunday, a decent amount could care less about Dave, fits "jammy" spot pretty good, downside is they're everywhere every summer and I've seen them 25+ times)
Why no McCartney or Waters: sadly I just don't see it happening
Why no TAB: two shows in Tennessee on tour they just announced
Why no U2: out for Saturday, wouldn't be Sunday, U2 and Coldplay in the same year? I don't think so. Although I'd say Dave and Coldplay share a lot of the same fanbase, which actually doesn't look good in writing now that I mention it
*If I had money to buy another ticket, I would bet that ticket that this is the lineup we get.
*I kind of also think that Soundgarden could be a good fit in the NIN spot from last year. Possibly move Furthur to open for DMB on Sunday. For now, I'm sticking with what I've got up there.
The Who / Bruce Springsteen Coldplay / Phish Dave Matthews Band / Beastie Boys Kings Of Leon / Nine Inch Nails Killers / David Byrne Furthur / Wilco
09 DESTROYS that lineup and i like The Who a lot more than Springsteen.
Coldplay, KOL, and Killers on the same day would be cringeworthy.
yea it would suck for us but it would be huge for bonnaroo. they would have lots of people that have never been to the fest before.

I'd have to say we're due for headliners not as good as last year. Reason being: in 2005 we had Dave and two nights of Panic. In 2006 we had Radiohead, Petty and Phil. Much better than the previous year. In 2007 we had Tool, The Police and Panic. Not as good as 2006. In 2008 we had Metallica, Pearl Jam and Panic. Better than 2007 but not by a lot, in my opinion. Then in 2009 we had the Boss and two nights of Phish. Probably the best headliners on the lineup since 2006, in my opinion though, best headliners ever. I'm just saying, I wouldn't be surprised if the headliners aren't as great as last year (as far as the people here on inforoo would consider).

^Yeah but the headliners you listed would be imo the worst Bonnaroo has ever had. There is a difference between music I do not prefer to listen to like PJ or Metallica, and music that is just bad uninspired stuff like Killers, or KOL.
The more I think about it the more I don't care who the headliners are. Pretty much whoever they get I will probably be more excited about than I was for Phish and Bruce last year.

A Thieve's Parade 2/24 Conspirator 2/26 Kevin Smith 3/11 Keller 3/17 Papadosio 3/18 JJ Grey 3/25 Bela Fleck/Edgar Meyer 3/26 Toubab Krewe 3/27 O'Death 4/11 Budos Band 4/22 EOTO 4/28 Summer Camp 5/6-29 All Good
I really believe the headliner that has been around for less than 10 years is the Gorillaz not KOL or whoever else everyone has been talkting about. They have a new hyped up album coming out this spring, they're a well respected band, they'll probably be touring, and they were formed after the millenium
But they are rumored for Coachella. If they play COachella it will most likely be their only fest. Coachella will want to keep them exclusive since they probably won't tour.

Pretty much any group of headliners that doesn't include Phish will be a letdown, and I've come to accept that. I just don't think any band can even come close to matching that energy. I don't think I've ever experienced anything even close to when they came on and started Chalkdust; even my friends who hate Phish were sucked in by those first few minutes.

If natedogg's prediction comes to fruition, then Bonnaroo must not want to make a profit this year. I think I threw up in my mouth a little seeing the Friday night list.
I am jealous of the people that had the foresight to sleep through the boss. But hey, I did get to hear a Christmas song! wtf
haha, yea i woke up to see them playin santa is comming to town, wasnt sure if i was really seeing that and decided to go back to sleep till it was time for NIN
I grew up worshipping Rock and Roll like a religion. I know its shortcomings and strengths but have loved it unconditionally all the same since I was eight-years old. I ran away and joined the circus and honestly, I'm still as obsessed as I was as a boy. I'm not a kid anymore but I still remember how it felt and it doesn't really feel all that different to me now.
