Hate to drag up an old post but oh welll......
I am a HUGE and I mean HUGE Xavier Rudd fan, but from seeing him at other venues, all smaller venues, I could tell he wasn't really feeling it. His set list was basically the exact same, except shorter, from his previous tour with the exception of a couple songs off his new record. Also, he is best seen as a solo act. Adding drums really didn't go. It's a shame because the last show I saw of his, there was sooooo much good energy and vibes flowing, I felt higher than a kite from that alone. I hope he never plays the Roo again, it just doesn't fit him.

it fit him the first time he played at roo... I didn't see him this year...he was up against The Hold Steady ;D
The Police let me down and I stayed far away from Tool and FOW. From the tapes SuperJam sound great but I was so far away I left after about 10 mins. because all I could hear was the DJ's from the arcade tent.

I thought it was pretty cool, but that was the first time I've seen him so I wouldn't know.

tool and the police were the worst bands i saw all weekend, but they weren't bad, they just weren't as good as most of the other bands, also, they're too mainstream for me

xavier rudd was my suprise find at bonnaroo, along with franti. The only things that bummed me out about was saturday night having to choose btw. all the late night music, i got the beginning of the flips, then gov't mule(best set at roo!) and on that note, Allman brothers deserve to headline this year!

I agree on The Police.
But Tool? WHA?!? I don't think you can call them mainstream...can you? ???
Personally, the White Stripes turned me from a moderate listener into a huge fan on that Sunday afternoon. blew me away
I second that!
I third that. I was not near by - close enough to see them about 1" tall on the stage but center and I loved every minute and have gone from a "eh, they're pretty cool" fan to a "WS is utterly brilliant" fan.
But then many shows at Bonnaroo did that for me. the only show that disappointed was The Police, but I wonder if they even knew what they were in for at Bonnaroo. Wrong location - maybe in an arena the same show would ahve been better.

I agree to that. My buddy told me how great of a guitar player Jack White was, but I had no idea he was THAT good. I definately had a lot more respect for them after I saw them live.
Y'know, i wouldn't put anything I heard into the "bad" category, SuperJam was underwhelming, but far from bad.
I guess the worst thing I could have heard, would be Lilly Allen. I made an attempt to stay as far away from her set as possible, and I think I managed pretty well. Some of my poor friends were not so fortunate... btw, I heard that she was really messed up on stage. What's all that about?

Saw one song at superjam then left, worst superjam bonnaroo has ever had. Also white stripes were good, but jack had his guitar not in tune or way to loud and sounded all fu@ked up. Did anyboby else notice this?

i wasn't happy that superjam and string cheese played at the same time, so my choice wasn't that hard, it was the last time i was gonna get to see the cheese, so i was there for most of it, i did walk away at one point to check out superjam, but i was there for maybe 5 minutes at most, the other tent was overcrowded, couldn't really hear that well, wasn't sure what song they were playing at superjam, looking at the set list now, i think they were playing superstition, but going back to the cheese, that was one of the most memorable incidents for me, really glad they had keller up there, wish he would've played with them a little longer

Well I thought the Superjam this year was great, much better than last year's snoozefest (gimmie a break, G.R.A.B. is not a superjam. they were touring after Bonnaroo already. more of a warm-up performance). Superstition, It's Your Thing, some Sissy Strut teases and a 30+ min Dazed and Confused!!?? I don't know which tent SCStick was at Friday night, but I was having a ball.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

Yea G.R.A.B. kicked ass, and I was at SCI for one set and STS9 for the 2nd set but stoped buy superjam and kept on walkin. Also SCI was on a stage not a tent so HA, victory is mine.

^^^Although stallion don't need no help from nobody, I'll jump in on his behalf and clarify that by "SCStick", he was talking about YOU, not SCI. Also, I agree. This year's SuperJam was great. Maybe your mistake was to try and "buy superjam"? Such high caliber musicians don't come cheap, and I'm not surprised you ended up disappointed.
OK, I'll try and stop being a d!ck now. No hard feelings I hope. ;D

^^^I can respect that; I've been on the fence about his voice for a long time. I do dislike his plaintive ballad croon, but I think I like his gusty hard rock wail. So, for "Both Sides of the Gun" I always skip the first disc and go straight to the second (better songs there anyway!)

admittedly, i was pretty far back - but i cant say i was at all impressed with the white stripes.
