How about ANY band making great things happen at the moment....
Bonnaroo has been signing stale acts in key scheduele spots for a couple of years now. It doesn't seen to be a problem to sign more current acts for Vegoose, and that's not to say that EVERY Bonnaroo act has been stale. Many of the undercard artists have been phenomenal. But "certain" bands/or types of bands seem to be perennial choices for Bonnaroo. Artist choices that aren't on the cutting edge lend to Bonnaroo as more of an annual, lumbering novelty show(i.e. Lolla in the late 90's or Woodstock 99-00) as opposed to a special "What are they gonna do next?" event....
Les Claypool - definately Violent Femmes - would be awesome Alison Moyet with Yaz The Cure The Black Crowes and/or Christ Robinson and New Earth Mud Jack Johnson

but none of my suggestions, meg?! that's ok... i guess those would be... *sniff* ok choices too...
Blue man group, i mean i'm not into em so much, but i could see it
completely missed this post, wish i hadn't. VERY GOOD suggestion! Blue Man Group would make a helluva late night show, like their late night shows in vegas! :-)

I put this on another thread, but late night thingy Cheese (which for some reason got edited there and I guess will get edited here... to Thingy Cheese? Someone's fairly common name is obscene, yet there's apparently no problem with a word like cocksucker--- go figure? : So anyway... Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine would in my opinion, be an awesome late night good time, and would be a great alternative to the usual late night trippy hippy jammy psychadelic type selections (all of which I love) Definitely check him out should he make a rare appearance in a city near you... Cheesy goodness at it's greatest!
i love Richard Cheese... there is a morning radio show here in Va that is pretty good friends with him and they play his songs segueing in and out of their show all the time.
I think a mix of all of 'his work' would be great music to sit around and drink and shoot the poo with your friends!
