A few months before bonnaroo I posted a thread titled "I know its a little early" in which I wanted everyones opinion on who they think is going to play Bonnaroo 2007. Well since Bonnaroo 2006 has happened I want to see who everybody thinks is going to headline 2007.
So who do you think is going to headline 2007? Don't give me who you want to headline, give me who you think is the most likely to.
Personally, I think that they are going to stick with the formula they had this year, a band well known to the jam community(Phil Lesh), and band that people have requested for years(Radiohead), and a music legend(Tom Petty)(I know a lot of you don't consider Petty as a music legend, but just bear with me a minute here, okay).
So with that formula I'm going to go with Pearl Jam as the band that people have requested for years. Each year the rumors of PJ playing roo come up, and each year they are shot down. For a while they weren't playing any music festivals at all, but they finally are again this year in europe.
For the music legend, I am going to have to go with Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Young's already played, so he would already know what roo is about. I was going to go with David Bowie in this spot, but I think there is a better chance of him headlining Coachella, and I don't see both having the same headliner. Clapton was close too.
For the band well known to the jam community I'm going to have to go with Widespread. I really didn't want to use them since they just played two nights in 05. But I just can't think of anyone else to fill this spot, unless SCI could do it(maybe a Keller Williams Incident)
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
This was the first year I was interested in all the headliners. I think WSP are likely -- pushing a new album this year and all. God I hope Clapton doesn't headline. That man hasn't done anything worthwhile in a couple of decades and I'd really have to be bored to end up at that one. While I haven't been a hardcore PJ fan since Vitalogy, I've always looked for an excuse to see them live and Roo would be a good situation. I really don't think SCI have the draw to headline a fest of Roo's size yet, but who knows. Those are my comments on your thoughts. ;D As for my own guesses -- I really don't have a clue -- which is kind of fun. Rumors of a Dead tour would indicate that it may be a possibility for a headlining spot at Roo, but we'll see. Now that they're doing their best not to "repeat" quite as often, things should get nice and interesting...
Maybe Roger Waters or David Gilmore. I dunno this next line-up is gonna be very interesting, because I don't think they're gonna want to fall back into the same headlining patterns as before ala Dead, Dave, Trey, Panic. I think they're almost gonna have to have one of these as a headliner though. (cough)phish(cough cough)
yeah, I really don't have much to add.. but I have already heard of a rumur of Incubus after Radiohead drew in so many people... Incubus is really good, and put on a hell of a live show, but I think they could do better. And I definitly think Gnarls Barkley should be there next year, not a headliner though.

Me and my friend have discussed Incubus so many times about playin Roo. They can definitely jam but I think they would be a late night or which stage show. not headlining. I could understand not wanting incubus at roo though also.

*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
I saw em at Lollapalooza a few years back, and they annoyed the hell out of me. I hated how the lead singer was always moving his arms, and has his shirt off. He's sooooo artsy and sensitive I mean if you like em, that's cool, but I don't think they'd fit at Roo, at all.
actually i know a guy who knows a guy that this one guy bought a rabbit from and he says mtv is buying bonnaroo and phish is definetly there man! theyre gonna be playing under the big rollercoaster cause an amusement park is buying the property. the ferris wheel was just the start

I will try to stick to originl formula. Friday (Rock Hero night)- Bruce Springsteen & the E street Band Saturday (Requested favorite night)- Pearl Jam Sunday (Jam Favorite night)- The Dead
incubus, tool, and sting???? ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if they had that it shoulda been this year 0n 6-6-06! thankfully i think those headliners are about as likely as oysterhead sharing a crappy daytime slot with death cab for cutie...... oh sh.it
