Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'd give 'em a shot just like i gave Petty a shot at this year's roo. Some bands of that era have emerged as being worthy of seeing again and again, night after night. They certainly have in mind the dedicated fan who has passion enough to binge out six shows in a stint. Then there are those like buddy guy or bb king or johnny cash who are/were just pure enough old school to live every moment for the pure thankfulness to the audience for being able to perform for a living and have their art emulated. 0 for 2 in the last 10 years for clapton for me. 'bout 5 for 12 on the petty. 10 of 15 on some p-funk. 15 of 20 on the dylan. much rather catch someone hungry these days for a headliner. or someone who bleeds integrity like neil young.

people need to start being realistic when they say what bands are going to headline
Bands you know will probably be there: DMB, WSP, Phil Lesh
as far as bands reuniting, the only one possible would be Phish or The Dead. Pink Floyd is never, i repeat, never ever ever ever ever going to reunite. its just not going to happen. and the Smashing Pumpkins - they aren't getting back together. so neither of them will be there.
bands that have a good chance of headlining: Pearl Jam, CSNY, Clapton, Allman Bros
bands that are a far strech: Paul Simon, Incubus, Sting
bands that you can't honestly be stupid enough to even consider headlining: Tool, SCI, Bjork, Ween
Do you think Incubus is even headline worthy at this point? I fell in love with them when SCIENCE came out, but that was their best work for me. I have their older albums too but it didn't draw me in like SCIENCE did. Maybe I'm out of the loop, but have they done anything lately that's big?

I think if Incubus were to play, it would be opening for a headliner. Unless they managed to come out with a new album that made it big. I'd love to see Clapton with Cream! That would be a good time.
I'd love to see them too, I've seen them several times and I've enjoyed every show. I was such a Brandon Boyd lover, haha. I just don't see them at Bonnaroo, although it would be nice.
A broken ipod? I'm so sorry to hear that, I can't imagine not having all that music at your fingertips. My computer crashed a few months ago and I lost my hard drive with 17+ gigs of music. Luckily that's all preserved on my ipod but if I lost that I think I'd die.

yeaahh. I told myself like 9 million times "dont bring your ipod to 'roo, its just gonna get broken". So, I did what I always do and ignored my thoughts, adn brought it anyway. Monday morning while packing up i found it in a small puddle from the rain (we didnt' close are tent door all the way, doh!). Though, I must say that since bonnaroo i've had constant music ringing in my ears, so i dont even need the ipod! I had over 35 gigs of music, thankfully its still on my computer so once/if i get a new one, then everything will be back to normal.

Awww hugs for you!! I would be lost without my iPod
When did you have the chance to use your ipod at roo? As soon as I read you found it in a puddle on Monday morning I gasped, haha. Thirty-five gigs of music is a lot! Thankfully you still have it on on your computer.

well I DIDN'T have time to use it. I brought it mostly for the ride up and back, then accidentally left it in my pocket instead of in the car (i did tent only.) I was also sort of thinking I may use the headphones to keep out the noises, but never even ended up doing that. The worst of it all is that I downloaded tons of shows from bonnaroo, and now I can't even listen to them during the day!
That's such a shame! Can you burn them on CD and listen to them that way? That's how I have to do it since I can't download anything on my computer at work.

c.....d.....? What's that? Haha, I haven't had a CD player in years. After i had maybe five of them stolen/lost in high school, i called it quits. I'll just end up buying a new Ipod i'm sure...after all, what else am i supposed to do with student loans?
haha! I must be one of the few left who listens to CDs. In the car it's strictly Sirius radio, although once I get some Bonnaroo shows burned I'm sure I'll listen to those too. I'd love to get one of those dock system thingies for my ipod so I can listen to that at home, but until then I use a CD player. That Bose one is nice, but it's so expensive!
Don't even get me started about student loans, haha. Those will haunt me until the day I die.

The Bose dock is really nice. But at home I just use my speaker system, so i have no real need for a dock. Driving was really the last good reason for me to use CDs, but at school i dont drive so alas, no cds. I actually do have a bunch of CDs sitting in my room. Most of them aren't in the right case, adn are probably scratched to hell, but I can't just throw them away. Where do/did you go to school?
Could I just use my CD player speakers with my ipod? That'd be wonderful if I could!
My brother just introduced me to the website www.lala.com - you make a list of CDs you have but don't want and a list of CDs you'd like. Lala will send you CD cases and envelopes and you trade for something like $1 a CD. They even give 20% back to the artist. Even if you don't listen to CDs anymore, you can always rip them to your hard drive and put them on your ipod. I just signed up this weekend so I haven't traded anything yet,but my brother loves it. Sound slike a cool deal.
I went to Rutgers, graduated last year. Yesterday was my one-year anniversary at my cube-monkey job, haha.

Oo, lala sounds like a good idea. Rutgers eh? Are you originally from Jersey? Didn't travel too far, did ya! I'm originally from (outside) philly, so i actually know a few people who went there. I go to a co-op school now (northeastern) so I get to work full time half the year, and go to class half the year. Friday will be both my six month anniversary, and my last day of my cube-monkey job! But if it weren't for this job, i wouldn't be on inforoo all the time
Yeah I am originally from Jersey and I didn't travel far at all. In retrospect I regret it, I'd have liked to learn another state and broaden my horizons. I loved it there though and would trade the experience for anything. The co-op sounds like a good deal. Where do you work when you're not taking classes? What are you taking classes for? I'm glad work is slow so I can slack off on here..once some quotes or orders come in I curse the customer, haha.

I work for a company set up by the sate (MA) to provide below market rate home loans. As an "Administrative intern" my job involvse a whole lot of crap work. I'm an Entrepreneurship major, hopefully also a marketing major, though I should probably get on figuring out what classes I need to take for that. Between getting back from bonnaroo, and friday beign my last day, it is practically impossible for me to work. I feel bad, too, because I hate being a crappy employee, but i just can't motivate myself at all. And yourself? What do you do?
Marketing always seemed interesting to me. I majored in journalism/media studies hoping to focus more on media studies, but that didn't happen. I had an awesome internship at Unviersal Records that lead me to a temp job there. My dream job was to work in the music industry but it's a very hard industry to get into. So now I'm in a cube quoting and ordering computer crap for Florida's school systems. Plan B has always been teaching so I'm working on persuing that. It's not so bad here, everyone's young and it's pretty laid back, but I'd rather work with children and get my winter/summer breaks back.

Good for you! Teach! Education and kids are the two most important things, so kill two birds with one stone and start teaching some kids! I'm going to apply to be a Big Brother in September, and i'm really excited for it. I love kids, and i think helping them is the best way to help the world as a whole.
I wanted to do that in school, I didn't have enough time though. And you're so right about education. As idealistic as it sounds, teaching makes other professions possible. And nowadays kids need teachers more than ever since it's necessary to have both parents working and parental prescence isn't at home as much as it used to be.
