I felt like A-/B+ and probably 4th of 4 but I still loved the shit out of it. It was a little shorter and maybe not as hard as the first two or as crazy as the rainy 2016 POTR. I think I would go 1991, 2012, 2016, 2024. But it’s more or less subjective.
What I will say is circumstantial I had the best time at 24 even if it wasn’t my favorite of the shows. 91 I was with my pregnant exwife and she didn’t love it though did love Sonic Youth for whatever reason. 12 was with E at Voodoo which was great but we had to leave Bootsy Collins early and missed maybe the first 20 minutes. 16 was with Collin on a muddy and rainy day. They all ruled. But I had more fun this past Saturday.
I gotta go back and look at all the shit I saw. I usually try to rank but it’s next to impossible considering I listened to 3 of the headliners from outside. Great sound but it’s not the same, and that’s for Paak Stones and Killers. Then Foo Fighters and EW&F were over packed so I had to walk around a bit for those. Same with Lettuce at The Joy. So those sets don’t count really the same as a set you can see everything. I think what I saw or listened to more than a pass-by goes Papa Mali Trio, Cimafunk, Widespread Panic, The Killers, Dumpstaphunk, Cory Wong, Bomba Estereo, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Big Freedia, Nicholas Payton with Nth Power (10 minutes VW), Anderson.PAAK and The Free Nationals, Government Mule, Rolling Stones, bit of Galactic but I met up with Jeremy Jamm so we were mostly talking on the perimeter til they closed out with Nobody’s Fault But Mine cover, Terence Blanchard featuring the E-Collective and Turtle Island Quartet, Foo Fighters, Lettuce, Leo Nocentelli, Tab Benoit, Nickel Creek, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Grupo Niche, Joe Bonamassa, Mariachi Jalisco, Earth Wind and Fire and Shorty & Orleans Ave. the sets that stand out the most are Stones, Cory Wong, Foo Fighters, Neil, Mariachi Jalisco, Grupo Niche, Molly Tuttle, Shorty, Cimafunk, Mule and Joe B. This was a cool Jazz fest. I saw a couple minutes here and there of plenty other stuff. I don’t speak Spanish so it’s not generally a go to for the several styles of Colombian they had or Cuban or Mexican. But that’s okay. You find shit you like that maybe you didn’t know you’d like by giving shit a chance.

It was a fun weekend that definitely flew by. I wish I had more time to do more, but not surprising I couldn't fit it all in. Worth the price for the GM pass to be up close for the Stones (and FF/Neil). I'm not sure if or when I'd do Jazzfest again just given the cost but a fun ass time I'd love to do again otherwise. I'll be back in NOLA sooner than later. Maybe Voodoo comes back? Esteban and I were talking about it. I wish I got to meet the rest of yall, hopefully next time!
