Like I said yesterday, I think I fucked up by not getting a ticket for yesterday. It still sounded great from outside, but it was probably one for the books. Edit to say the only report I got past that was she was talking with Dave and told him anytime me and her see them we’ll end up sobbing for my hero so he told her to tell me what’s up. Haha. NGL I hit her up with a verse or two from the festival today and you know I was misting. I’m not even a giant fan or anything but they affect her so they get to me.

No. It was outrageous. I never seen the Joy that packed. Upper balcony bar had people 4 deep watching. I stuck back in the corner by the elevator. I ended up giving up during the second set and walking home (still beat the streetcar those motherfuckers).

Yeah so it was kind of a random surprise set for me. I didn’t even know one of the songs. But solid as hell. Got some nickel creek in as well as Leo Nocenteli. More later but getting to hang with rooloo Tristan cookin mama and dan808 was the best part of the day. Fuck yeah. We shall see what tomorrow brings.
Edit to say that two of my kids ended up going to Break Science and ran into the sax player for the Stones and Jesus Coomes of lettuce as well. Said it was a good show.
Brother in law waited on Mick Jagger yesterday at Clancy’s. Haha. Guess the stones stayed for a few days to party. \m/.
Fun as shit day yesterday as mentioned. We walked over from my apartment after slamming a couple drinks. It’s kind of overwhelming on a 1 day so we hit the bar and we kind of walked around by different food areas. 3 of us got that dark roux gumbo from Prejeans (pheasant quail and andouille) in Lafayette. That’s always good. I was asked what to get and I said it didn’t matter. Anything that catches your eye will be good. So we fucked around and walked over to the other end to catch Meters guitarist Leo Nocentelli. That was pretty good. We passed back around Congo Square which was where Cookin Mama I’m pretty sure got a sweet potato pie. That was also very good and not overly sweet which I appreciated. Then we walked back to get a spot for Neil which we could have had almost rail earlier but was filling up. Swamp/blues guitarist Tab Benoit was playing main. That was a pretty rocking show. I bailed to go hear Nickel Creek and hit the bar to grab a bag of beers and ice. Nickel Creek was fucking great but the sound was too low on that stage. I moved to the left side and could hear it better but there was too much bleed coming from PJ Morton and Cowboy Mouth stages. I’ll see them again any time but I was kind of annoyed as that show was meant to be crystal clear. I found my way back to everyone though it was a trek through the crowd. We had a ball for Neil. Not really anything I give much of a shit about today so I’m going to just pull a leisure day. I’m probably going mostly to eat. I’ll pay respects to browell’s cousin for a song or two and probably will try to see a few minutes of Bonamassa and then split Earth Wind and Fire and Tower of Power. Not going out tonight because I gotta drive to Panama City in the am. But I’ll try to recall shit from the beach and recap. Again great hanging with JJamm, rooloo, blotter, Dan, CM and Trvstn.

No. I want to and all my kids are working. But I gotta leave at 7am for Panama City. Correction was Mick couldn’t make Clancys so W shot his wad early. I walked and went solo today. I planned to eat new shit but literally had a repeat of shrimp bun bbq oysters and vegetable ceviche. I’m usually proud not to ever get something again but I blew that out the water. Today was different. I walked in with no schedule which I don’t ever do but idc. So I saw Groupo Niche from Colombia who were great. Lots of smiling faces leaving that including me. I walked over to Bonamassa who was better than I figured. Next I stopped at Mariachi Jalisco whom I loved the fuck out of. Then I walked over to EW&F who was great but ultra packed. So I walked over by Shorty intending to hit the blues and jazz tent but ended up staying. Uptown Ruler Cyril Neville came out and sang and drummed with Shorty last 10 minutes. It wasn’t getting better than that so I just hung until the end. Lots of great I saw over the last 8 days but lots more o didn’t. I’ll try to figure a top few tomorrow but Stones, Neil, Cory Wong, WSMFP, Paak, Killers, Cimafunk, Bomba Estereo, shorty and much more, it was great. Yo IP, you might not reply but I’m interested in what the best shit you saw this weekend.
