Don’t think I can camp again, finally got bad enough neighbors to completely ruin it for me. I genuinely don’t think they sleep! But the second I hear them close their eyes this morning I’m 100% blasting music

So has an act ever played one year and headlined the following year or does it take three years minimum usually? Billie played outdoor then headlined three years later, yeah? Also, I had a thing typed out about how something is always missing with Jungle's live shows then they stepped it up in a big way for the second end of their set. I think the backing tracks are too loud on their older stuff but they seem to be getting better and better live.
A recent post on the subreddit claiming the Sublime crowd was larger than Lana’s yesterday.
This is far from the truth. Yes, Lana’s crowd dispersed because her set seemed like it ended and then she came out again, but it was massive when it started.
I hate to play the misogyny card but man I wonder what the science is behind the sub’s hate boner towards Lana. I haven’t seen a single post talking about Tyler’s historically weak W1 crowd.
Misinformation goes crazy! And it’s hilarious because every hateful post about LDR, regardless of if its truthful or not, immediately gets massively upvoted. Weird.
I can’t speak to weekend 2, but Sublime’s crowd when I got there 15 mins in definitely seemed bigger than Lana’s crowd when I got there 15 mins in W1. It also seemed like one of the biggest crowds I saw all weekend though, bigger than Tyler or Doja as well. And nobody’s crowd came anywhere close to No Doubt’s.

You're right, people don't dislike Lana's set because she sounds bad live, plays all slow ballads, and has the stage presence of someone pacing in the doctor's office waiting to hear if their lump is cancerous or not - it's because she's a woman!

Black Keys 2011 to 2012. But that was due to other stuff. Remember that Billie was a replacement and if Covid never happened she mightve just headlined this year because the new album is out next month.
Yesterday was phenomenal. No doubt >gesa>orbital made for one of my favorite nights here in 14 years.
Someone was talking about gesa’s lights and they’re not wrong. I had to look away several times, but to be fair I was peaking then, but damn that made it way more intense.
It was pretty neat to see Blake Shelton last night. He was 10 feet from us and was just so darn cute watching his wife do her thing. He had a smile on his face the whole time.
Okay I'll say it: it's time for a Coachella cum leak, even if its just a dribble. GV can only give us blue balls so many times before someone blows a load so messy that it scrambles the lineup placements.
Yesterday was just absurd. What a ridiculous amount of talent booked. Raye, a superstar. No way around it. Prydz and Anyma drew a huge Quasar crowd. Sublime sounded good! My wife hates their music and still dug the show and huge crowd. Batiste, already said it but one of the best shows I’ve seen at any Coachella complete with a marching band parade through the crowd with Yo Gabba Gabba. First half of Jungle was super sexy, great crowd. Then it was time to unleash the serotonin and IsoKnock is the future sound. The kids were going feral. Ran over to main and literally got the four No Doubt songs I wanted, then ran through two packs of gum for Sserafim (total party) and Dom (starting to come down and tired but still so fun).
Crowd was huge today and the vibes are perfect.
ETA: how could I forget dancing with Mikey on the Do Lab stage
Jon Batiste put on one of the most mindblowibg shows I’ve ever seen at Coachella
These show reviews for him are crazy. He’s generally a really boring live show. I wonder if he really wanted to bring it at Coachella or if he’s turning a corner with his live performances. I didn’t catch him on stream either week.
I had zero intentions of watching him before the livestream. The entire outdoor theater was just rocking the whole time. Virtuoso musicianship, inspirational vibes, everybody just danced like madmen.
my pitch for if they keep booking “sleepy” headliners is give them 2hours in the sunset slot silence other stages if necessary. the festival always has a crowd that wants to end the night dancing so no matter how good the headliner is if they have a song with a grandpa guitar or no light show it will be deemed an L
this goes quadruple for Oasis
Not true, mellow headliners are fine. Just put on a good performance. If they booked Adele, it would be an amazing set even if it's mostly slow songs. Because she's an excellent performer with ridiculous vocal prowess.

Some collectible disco sharks were created, by the guy that made the original, for the 10 year anny of it and available through that coachella quest thing, he’s giving one away at 1pm by the rose garden. They posted this on Reddit, but one of the old heads go and snatch it from the kids. Thing looks amazing.

Tyler's crowd wasn't big but it wasn't historically small. Did you see Tame 2019 and how most of the festival chose finishing Billie Eilish and getting a spot for Kid Cudi over them? Or LCD 2016? We don't have to exaggerate other crowds to defend Lana lol Also I see more online posts from Lana fans about how it was the best Coachella set of all time than negative posts. That fan base is very cult like and can't handle a, single, non positive word about her

Reddit in general kinda hates women. I mean, communities like that literally gave birth to incels.
But yeah, I’ve noticed they give female artists very little or no chance, especially POC women. Before the performances, Ice Spice and Doja Cat got so much hate for pretty petty reasons.
While I agree with your Doja sentiment, saying people gave Ice Spice hate for petty reasons is completely revisionist history. People hated on Ice spice because her performances before Coachella were ass. Super glad she stepped it up, but there’s a reason why so many people were surprised by her Coachella performance.

we had some "high energy" neighbors but thankfully they seemed to burn out Thursday night. It's always a crapshoot though and bad neighbors can really ruin a good thing.
Sublime had a nice crowd - but not bigger than Tyler (or Lana). Getting to either headliner from the outdoor was relatively tough. I got to Sublime a few songs in, and it was spread out - lots of folks towards the back but spread out and easy to get closer. No Doubt was probably the biggest of course (I got there early so not really sure but it seemed it).
Top 5 yesterday: Last Dinner Party No Doubt Raye Gesa Ice Spice
Wearing a Boygenius T-shirt and blue bucket hat today. Say hi!

Delusional to think Adele would be a bigger draw at Coachella than Lana. Go touch grass

Where did I mention draw? I mentioned quality of performance.
