Robert Earl Keen in july (high risk of catching covid lol) looks to be the first show at one of our venues with a lawn..interesting seating.
"IMPORTANT NOTE: To accommodate social distancing, this show is taking place under a special configuration, referred as to White Oak Music Hall GRID. Under the "GRID" system, purchasers are buying specifically assigned areas of the Lawn, referred to as "GRIDS." Most GRIDS are approximately 50 square feet in size, and are intended for groups of friends and family. Each GRID maintains social distancing from adjacent GRIDS, and attendees must stay within the boundaries of their GRID. For more information regarding the GRID system, please visit whiteoakmusichall.com/grid
This event is WILL CALL ONLY. To prevent scalping and the potential for scalpers to sell tickets putting people who do not know each other into the same GRID, no electronic tickets will be sold for this event. All tickets will be WILL CALL ONLY, and the purchaser needs to redeem their tickets at the box office when they arrive."
this is the "grid", 6 per grid, probably going to be a shit show for Lazer. I'm sure it'll be chiller for Shakey
Druid I read an article from people that are part of the vaccine trails and they all said the second shot wiped them out and they all got fevers. How was the second shot for you and how have you been?
Second shot was a piece of cake. So maybe I got the placebo.
Really feel like ACL might've won the festival landscape of 2020. No need to fiddle with dates, no need to fiddle with a ton of refunds, no artists dropping out that have to publicly be replaced. I kept wondering if they'd still release the lineup when people were hoping for fall 2020 fests, but I really think not doing it kept them from having to constantly be tripping over themselves or have a ton of speculation.

This is also being discussed in the politics thread. 😬
Will notice of tonight's announcement hit a record number of likes in that thread? I ain't all about dat schadenfreude, but this new shouldn't be surprising, at least.
Revisiting the text thread where all my Trumper family members said this was a hoax back in March and I was literally begging them to stop being so stupid. Amazing. Absolutely humiliating to be related to these gentlemen.
I'd already heard this news when I saw your post, but I hit the upward thumb button as quickly as I could. Not, um, because of the news itself, or whatever, but because you were nice enough to fill in everyone who isn't as much of a news junkie. Yeah, that's it. Thanks, "being informed" makes me just a tiny bit satisfied inside.
In some good news, the CEO of Moderna* has said they may be able to seek emergency approval for the vaccine by November 25th. This is the date that they will have two months of data. In a shameless plug for myself, my data will be included in this. Which means if all goes according to plan and the FDA fast tracks it, we will have the vaccine by spring 2021. They have released the official phases that the vaccine will be given. Heath care workers are of course first. Storage and administration are going to be a headache. But we will figure it out.
*I promise I own no stock in this company. Wish I did.
Posted some stuff expressing skepticism about Houston being marked as an epicenter of COVID a few months back. I stand by what I said at the time, but it's no longer the case. Our numbers are now way worse than other Texas metros on a per capita basis.
OMG. I'm having to get tested AGAIN tomorrow. A friend might have exposed another friend that I saw Saturday and had lunch with. I hung with my dad for the first time in forever. The doctor was only tracing back until Saturday and my friend saw her Friday but fuck you never know with this virus.
I'm so over this. I'm terrified AGAIN. I'm going to be an isolated hermit because of this.
@people who had covid: did your sense of taste slowly fade or was it like suddenly you didn’t taste stuff. I went freakin everywhere for work a couple days ago and just had a chipotle burrito that seemed like it had less flavor

For me, it was more of a nasty metallic taste instead of no taste and everything I ate or drank tasted terrible for a couple of days. It started with waking up one morning with that taste in my mouth already. It's hard to tell if it was sudden or not since it happened overnight but I don't recall anything tasting odd the night before.

So no rapid results unless it's been 5 days since exposure. The rapid is only 86% accurate after day 5 of exposure and less accurate before that day 5 threshold. So I got the standard test. It's 99.6% accurate after 1 day of exposure and I'll have results tomorrow/Wednesday at the latest.
She said not to tell my dad until/unless either Alice or I test positive. She agreed with Kelly's doctor that contagion was the Saturday and Sunday before her symptoms and I should be fine, but I did the right thing to get tested.
They did help with my anxiety but I'm still a bit stressed. Fingers crossed for your girl.
One of my partner’s employees (we both work at the same place) tested positive, so we’re stuck in quarantine for the next 2 weeks. Going to get tested soon.

I will say this: There are parts of living in NYC through this that have been a nightmare, but the testing situation now is pretty great. I woke up Saturday, before we were supposed to drive out to a friend's outdoor, socially-distanced, small birthday gathering, with some nasal congestion. I was able to get a rapid antigen test and know I was negative - at least, as far as that test is accurate - within 15 minutes. It cost me some money, but having access to that kind of thing is really helpful.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

My wife said it was very sudden - like someone flipping off a light switch.

Yeah, I think the chipotle was just poorly seasoned
