Congrats to the Clemson fans here. Nice pick play on the last touchdown, but you guys earned this one.
Man, Alabama needs to fire Saban. How long is the title drought now? Watson just looked too stellar, so surely the Browns will draft Trubisky, or a tackle.
What an incredible game. When we were down 14-0 I thought we were about to get one of those classic Bama beat downs. This team played so many games like that this year. Why not do it against Bama too? Deshaun is amazing. Hunter Renfrow was a freaking walkon. Making plays like that in the national championship game. I've waited my whole life for this. No more hearing about not winning one since 81. We are the champions!
I cannot wait for Sang's stream of Clemson articles and pictures to start flooding on here and Facebook. And by that I mean, I will be even more of a ghost presence than usual.

Honestly, even when y'all were down 14, I never though y'all were out of it. Bama was and has been more vulnerable than people think lately. And part of the reason is that even the players started to believe their own hype. And that usually leads to self destruction. But that's just one factor of many. Like that fact that Clemson played their asses off an fought to stay in the game.

I agree with this. I feel like there was a wider gap in how the two teams played early than the 14 point gap showed, but Clemson never felt like they were out of the game. Funnily enough, I was talking to a couple co-workers yesterday about the game. When I told one that I thought Clemson was going to pull out the W, he said it'd be funny if Alabama opened up a lead to where everyone started the "Well, here we go again" narrative only for Clemson to come back on them. Looks like he was right on with that.
I would also like to say that Clemson's postgame interviews were the best. Dabo was so emotional on the field it looked like he could barely do the interview. Boulware (as much as I have a general distaste for him) was on fire most of the game, and I have to appreciate how he thanked players from recent years, such as Boyd and Watkins, for helping build the team to what they are now.

I was doom and gloom for a little bit there. I wasn't feeling what you guys were feeling. But once we made one big play everything seemed to open up. I love Dabo, he got so much shit when he got the job and when he would say the things he says after games. The players bought what he was selling though and look where it took us. I'm going to be so sad when he leaves us for Bama. I love Boulware. Boulware is me. He's every Clemson fan growing up here, he just got blessed with not only getting to play for the Tigers, he turned into one of the best players.
Thought for sure that this was going to be the game Clemson's turnovers came back to bite them. ACC all the way! Congrats to all the Tigers fans. That was a fun game to watch
What a fucking game. I'll admit, when it was 14-0 Bama and Clemson had already fumbled a snap, and failed to convert on the blocked punt I said the game was absolutely over. Good shit Clemson.
So, three days later, the loss still sucks. Empty feeling still lingers when I hear about it on the radio; however, I'm always looking forward to next season. Jalen Hurts has a full season of experience, and an offseason to get even better. We lose all of our LBs, and a few on the OLine (plus if Cam leaves early). But with how Alabama always is, we won't have any rebuilding just reconfiguring how all the pieces will work together.
Open up the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium next season against Florida State, so that'll be a fun game. Congrats, Clemson. But we'll be back again soon barring catastrophe or another all-star QB to play against us.
I know that there are lots of Clemson alumni here because you guys are always posting about the team, so I'm really happy for all you Clemson grads who got to see your alma mater beat Alabama.
Interesting random comment, why are you specifically happy for the alumni and not all fans?
I think I heard FSU say, "nice pick!", Haha, could be, but honestly, if that is the case, Bama should have never let Clemson drive on them late in the 4th. D was tired, they were on the field a lot in the 2nd half. penalties and missed opportunities killed drives, 3rd conversion for Bama was horrible, all of this uncharacteristic. Was it great Clemson D, the loss of Lane as OC, or was it having a freshman QB in the NT game, it does not matter Clemson played a better 60 minutes of football and congrats to them for that.
Did anyone else watch the Megacast? If so how did you like it? At first it was too much, Finebum was a bore(maybe he was stunned?), but after a bit it was enjoyable to hear, on the other end of the table, a coaches POV during the game, hope to see that guy there next year.

I don't think Hurts is going to be your qb. I don't believe he has the ability to throw the ball down the field. I don't believe it's something that he'll learn. But I mean you are Bama and almost won the game anyway. You've never really had a great qb, so maybe he will be able to get the job done.

I watch the Coaches Room every year - I think this was it's 4th year and I think it was the first year that a Pitt coach wasn't in the room. It's actually terrifying to hear some of their comments. For example, Addazio has no idea what the rules are. After Clemson scored, he asked why they would kick the XP, saying they should just run the ball out of bounds to run out the clock (it's an untimed down) with the implication being that a return by Bama would be a TD (it would be 2 pts and make it 34-33). Other coaches didn't jump on him until one - I think BYU's guy - said it's an untimed down. Another example was on the PI call right before the final TD where they were all saying "half the distance to the goal" (it's a spot foul under 15 yards) and one coach, I think Babers, saying he'd decline it because you're getting closer and it's tougher to make FGs from closer on the hashes. Just ridiculous comments that would worry me if my head coach said them.
However, I've said it ever since they started and I'll say it again - the Megacast is the single best thing ESPN does.

You're right about that. We've never had outstanding quarterbacks, but we make up for it with great D and RBs. Perhaps not everything Jalen needs to improve on will be corrected, but if he can work on eliminating mistakes and being the "game manager" QB Alabama typically has, we should be okay. I wish for once we'd get an all-star QB, but I'll settle for anyone who can win at the end of the day.

I think it hasn't happened because it wouldn't be fair. Kinda like Clemson not being able to get a top 5 rb.

That is pretty terrifying that coaches dont know simple rules.

Agreed! and that does not surprise me about Addazio. Idiot.
In your above comment, not sure about the conversation, but in college football, if under a certain yard line and on the hash mark and kicking a FG or PAT, the closer the attempt is to the goal line, the more difficult the kick becomes. It is easier to make a FG or PAT kick from say the 15 yard line, over the 5 yard line, when on the Hash Mark.
Dear Alabama fans, you just got one of the best ADs in the country. I hope you're smart enough to appreciate it when he points out that there are indeed sports outside of football. Also when he doesn't listen to your advice when hiring Saban's replacement (or any other coach for that matter). Just trust him, he knows what he is doing.
