Also, former 5 Star QB recruit and one time SC Trojan starting QB this year, Max Browne, just committed to Pitt, will enroll in January and be eligible immediately as a grad transfer. One year to play. Makes the QB situation much better for 2017.
What do to you think about Canada saying Pitt did all they could to keep him? I mean, I understand it's all about money, but how often does someone admit it that openly?
We offered him 2 years, $2 million. We offered to join the 7 figure assistant club, and there are only 12 assistants (supposedly) who make 7 figures nationally. Canada is the 13th. LSU apparently offered him 3 years at $1.3mil/year with incentives up to 1.8mil/year. I feel pretty good about what we did and I do not think he is worth all the money LSU paid. He had an offense with probably 6 NFL guys on the line plus an NFL TE, a STUD RB, and a QB who led the ACC in passer rating despite the Heisman winner and Heisman runner up being in the same conference. We set a school record with points in a season (508) but we were second nationally in non-offensive TDs with (I think) 9 - maybe 10. And we led the nation in red zone offense, scoring on 82.7% of red zone possessions, including scoring TDs on every red zone possession in six of our games. In short, regression was coming either way.

Have they already hired a replacement? If not, what are some of the names you're hearing? Canada seems like one of those guys that's for sale to the highest bidder. He'll probably leave LSU for Bama after a year or two.

Coach said he wouldn't focus on this til after the bowl, so no names being discussed yet.

Maybe you can take NC St's OC again. The guys on the radio here have been mocking Doereen for letting Canada go when he got hired.
Also, OSU beat Pitt 3-0 one year in the Sun Bowl. Wanna say 2008 or 2009.
It was 2008. I took off work to watch that shit.
I saw half the game at a Buffalo Wild Wings, taking a break from driving home from NYC. It started snowing as soon as I hit Connecticut, and took five hours to drive what normally takes two and change.
Highlight of the bowl season just started: 6-6 Miami of Ohio vs. 5-7 Mississippi State. With games like this, we need another couple of bowls at 11 am on Mondays.
I knew you would not agree, but if Clemson does not stop talking about "last year" and getting redemption in the championship, Saturday is going to be a long day. Urban is a mastermind when it comes to the post season. He is about to use schemes and plays non of us have seen all year. Granted my breakdown of Clemson mindset is limited to only what I see or hear on ESPN, but again, Givin time I think Urban is the best with coming up with a game plan for bowl games. I say that with having much anguish and distrust and disgust with coach Meyer. Phuck that guy! Which is the same way I feel about coach Saban.

I don't think the team is paying any attention to ESPN. You don't overlook Ohio St, because it's Ohio St. But sure, getting back to the championship game and winning has been the goal all season. Everyone knows that doing that probably means you have to beat Bama. We'd love another shot at that.
I was gonna roast Maynar for picking Nebraska over Tennessee but he only went one point. I put 40 against my Hoosiers. We are a sorry ass pair davemaynar.
I must have been having a down day on Tennessee. Also, I spent maybe five minutes on those picks. I don't remember any of them.
So if Jabrill Peppers watched his game from a media booth rather than on the sideline with his team, is it reasonable to expect that the NCAA will be interested in this? I find it odd that he wasn't with his team, but a friend made me wonder whether him being afforded access to a booth might land him or the program in hot water. The NCAA is all about players not receiving any special treatment based on their status as players, er "student athletes" or capitalizing on their fame. Sometimes, anyway, since they seem to enforce their rules very unevenly. This is highly unusual if nothing else.
And congrats to the Tennessee fans, nice win. And sorry in advance to the Clemson fans!

Seems like he pulled a McCaffrey
How does the NCAA punish someone that is going pro?
