So I just went to my local record store a couple of hours ago. They were selling 'The Whole Love' a day early and they were also having a listening party for it. If you stuck around to the end, they were having a drawing for a killer prize pack, and ... I won! It was pretty much everything that came in the deluxe pre-order (a t-shirt which is unfortunately too big, a tote bag, a yo-yo, a bookmark), but it also came with a poster signed by the whole band AND the clear 7" they were selling at Solid Sound this summer!
Here is a picture of all the swag:
Here's the other poster. I replaced a Sonic Youth poster I had up in my dorm with this new one:

The poster was pretty cool, it's 3D and comes with a set of glasses.
Well Chris just inspired me to look through some old pictures, my freshman dorm.
I've got both those Pink Floyd and Dylan posters hanging up in my house. I'm pretty sure every college does their poster "fair" with the same batch of merch.

The one UT has when I was there was a business that went around to colleges doing the sales. They'd have a few people who actually worked for the company there then students would fill the rest of the slots in exchange for posters.
Here's two I remember from mine. I went to college in the late 90s and it shows.
My friend posted these videos on facebook and I thought you guys might get as much of a kick out of it as I did. Apparently at a book launch party Jeff Tweedy did a solo set entirely of black eyed peas songs, pretty much just mocking them and tearing them apart. and it's pretty funny.
Thanks to Holls, I'm making my first trip to the Ryman tomorrow!
So pumped!
How was the Ryman show? I wanted to go, since the Ryman is the best venue in Nashville, but tickets sold out quickly. That ATL setlist is crazy good
I only went to the second night, but it was awesome. This was my fourth Wilco show, and every time I see them, I'm blown away by how tight they are as a band. This was my first time at the Ryman, too. Might be the best venue I've ever been to as far as sound goes.

Pretty much what Chris said.
I don't think I've ever felt the need to commit it on this but the crowd was awesome! The whole place had such a great energy to it. Tweedy kept commenting on how "you guys are really feeling it."

It's the Ryman baby. The place is haunted by the spirits of every great country musician. The wood in the seats are soaked with sweat from music fans all over the world, so I expect nothing less than perfection.
