I just looked up some reviews of Sigur Ros, and this is one that I particularly agree with:
(Speaking of a live show) "The experience lifted me in a way I've never been lifted before. I spent the entire concert wrapped up in the enormity of the sound; totally absorbed by the music. Before I was privileged enough to see them perform, I was a fleeting fan; in love with their style but still cynical. You see, anyone who has listened to Sigur Ros will agree that such beautiful music seems almost otherworldly. As if it speaks to listeners from this stunning far away land, encased in magic and totally unreachable by mortal standards."

Ahh. Perfect. This music fills my soul.
i can't even describe how incredibly excited i am for this show
I agree with all of you, if Sigur Ros wasn't playing at roo this year, I probably wouldn't be rushing to get my ticket. Nothing else really caught my eye besides Sigur Ros!

Sigur Ros is easily my most anticipated band to see at 'roo this year. The show would be mind blowing without any enhancers, but with them...man. I might believe in god after that experience.

I just downloaded a ton of Sigur Ros and I want to make the essential playlist of Sigur Ros. I figured that this thread could piece together a perfect playlist that they would want to experience at tha roo. Thanks and karma in advance.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

Hoppípolla off of Takk... is one of my favorite songs of theirs, but I'm not really familiar with their music on a track-by-track basis. I just start an album and let it play through. So I would suggest just listening to the albums.

That is what I am doing right now, it is hard to just pick songs off of an album. I just wanting to kind of see what kind of set could be at bonnaroo or something. such as which songs are pulled off of albums a lot for the live setting or are they always switching up the setlist.
The more I listen to these guys though, the more excited I am at getting the chance to see them.

That's what they played when I saw them a couple years back. It'll probably be a mixture of those, plus some new songs.
Whatever they play, I'll be just fine with. There's not really a song that I wouldn't want to see them play. Can't wait, i'm getting antsy just thinking about it!
Hey first time roo'er here. Im excited for my "bonnaginity" to be popped and am looking forward to a lot of the artists (i foresee schedule conlicts. a lot). But BY FAR, I am looking forward to this Sigur Ros set. I fully expect to be in tears by the middle of their concert. Maybe i should remember to bring some tissues to this one......

I'm determined to be front for this show. I cannot believe I'm finally seeing Sigur Ros. They are just perfect to me. They are so hard to see, I don't live anywhere close to where they tour. I've been waiting for a long time for this.

god i love ny batteri. it just occured to me that i haven't listened to Ágætis Byrjun in forever, time for a refresher ;D
wow, that was much better than I thought that it was going to be. Still wasn't like the original (Nobody could do a perfect imitation) but it was enjoyable. I would have never of expected we are scientists to do a cover of Sigur Ros but it worked out pretty well. Kudos to them, I love that song!!!
i can't fucking wait for this! i pray that it's late night. i saw them play at the Ryman in nashville on valentine's day 2 years ago.....only one word can describe it...."epic". you definitely get swept up in the songs. and if you want one song to listen to then get untitled 8 off of () i think it's also called popplagid or something along those lines on setlists.
hey seeing as how they usually bring anima or amina or something along those lines on tour with them, and the girls are their mini-orchestra when they play do you see amina getting added to the line-up? those girls can really create some beautiful music
Okay....in all honesty, I've never really understood the appeal...but I'm trying...and last night I had them in the headphones while sitting outside watching the eclipse, and I kinda got it a little....now if Bonnaroo can just arrange some strange celestial event, I'm all set...

there's definitely some shakedown snacks that might make u witness a celestial event...

Nonsense! How could there be such a thing at Roo??
