You don't have to be into, you know what, to like Sigur Ros. I know many friends not into, you know what, that love Sigur Ros and at the same time, have many friends into, you know what, that can't stand listening to Sigur Ros.

No doubt guys and girls, this will be one of my great experiences from this year. Although it will be my first time seeing them live, I feel like I've walked with Sigur Ros for years now.

I am not into 'that stuff' at all and sigur ros is one my favorite bands. I am emotionally moved everytime i listen to them. It is beautiful. Great meditation music
I cant wait to see these guys live. I got the Hvarf Heim album off Itunes and it came with a bonus video. It shows them playing a concert in the countryside of Iceland, what an amazingly beautiful place to live. Im seriously considering moving there someday. I hear they have some hardcore gamers there also so its looking more and more attractive.
I just watched Heima and all I can say is ..... wow. Wow. Holy crap. Wow.
I cannot believe how good they sound live. At times I seriously thought that the audio was pre-recorded stuff from a studio, it sounded that good. I cannot wait to see these guys.

Been studying all day with Sigur Ros in my headphones and all I can say is wow, I feel like I have retained more in this study session than I have in a long time. This show is becoming more and more of a must see for me even if I have to ditch a few friends for an hour (I am trying to get them to listen to it but they keep saying it just makes them tired). I will say that I will be very disappointed if they conflict with some other acts that I really want to see but oh well, I will still be happy no matter what.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

Very true, but seeing Heima in HD while , you know, was incredible.

man Sigur Ros was a must while studying freshman year. i also felt they totally calmed my nerves that tend to take over and stress me out when i have a lot to study for. God, they're sexy.

haha i'm writing an essay right now with sigur ros playing. it's perfect study and chill music.
i couldn't decide if i wanted to go or not to bonnaroo but when i saw sigur ros was playing, that's what made my final decision that i was going to go. i've never seen them live before but i bet it's amazing.
See...now that makes sense...I'm not into [Those things that are of course not at Roo] at all...maybe that's why they don't seem to move me.
I don't eat any sort of cheese snacks or other chips but Sigur Rós is one of my favourite bands. You have to be in the right mood for it. Driving home at night, after a good night has ended, your best friend in the passenger seat, tired, ready for bed, and generally happy with life. This is the right time for Sigur Rós.

QFT. Glad to know I'm not the only Sigur Ros fan from New Orleans.

Word. There's an entire group of kids a few years younger than I am, still at the high school I went to, that are even more into post-rock and especially Sigur Rós than I am.
A bunch of them actually started a band called "Good Day for an Airstrike" a couple months ago. Impressive for how long they've been around. They sound almost exactly like Explosions in the Sky, which isn't at all a bad thing.
I haven't listened to Sigur Ros much lately, but today I came upon them on shuffle.
I always underestimate just how good this band is. There really is almost no other band that can invoke emotions out of me like this band. And I honestly have never looked up translations to the lyrics. It's a perfect example of music surpassing any barriers language hold over us.
God, I cannot wait till June. I'm going to do my best to be near the front (and I don't care who I have to miss in order to achieve this goal).
So with both Phil & Friends and MMJ being announced that they are for sure going to be late nite acts, I'm not as sure anymore about Superfly scheduling Sigur Ros for the late nite. And even if they were late nite, there would be a huge conflict for me and I'd end up missing one of my top five for this year.
Their set better not conflict with anyone else I want to see...(ie Kanye)
I need to have a clear mind for this show...no distractions. I need to know in my heart that I am in the right place at the right time in the greatest place on earth.
That being said, there is no doubt that I will be smoking before this show. a lot.

Haha I thought I was the only one that studied and listened to the Ros. I agree Its awesome especially when your a political science major and read through pages and pages of theories every day.
They fend off the pre-exam anxiety like no other, and better than chain smoking and drinking while studying like I usually wind up doing. Although, all three make a wonderful little family together.

Uh, I don't know if anyone's brought this up yet, but I was just watching a video of them live and thinking about them at 'Roo...what about the noise from the other stages? The arcade tent even gets really loud. It seems like this could detract from their music, since it's so quiet and spacey.
Edit: After thinking about it, I don't recall ever getting noise pollution at any other show. Oh well.

Anyone feel like organizing a "no standing" effort for this show. I feel like this should be the kind of thing experienced by a few thousand people sitting on blankets rather than packed at a stage, in a tent. I realize it wont happen, but a man can dream.
I'm down for a "no-standing" show but I don't see that happening. Wouldn't mind sitting and becoming one with the ground... Either way, as long as I get to see Sigur Ros, i'll be as happy as can be.
