___________________________________________________________________________ File a Led Zeppelin reunion tour under "What May and What Should Really Come to Be." Just don't count on it happening this spring.
Robert Plant has set aside the month of May for a European tour with Allison Krauss, with whom he collaborated on the recent album Raising Sand.
Plant and Krauss will kick off their jaunt across Europe May 5 in Birmingham, England, before continuing on to Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway, it was announced Thursday.
The trek is slated to wrap May 22 in London.
The duo has also said they plan to tour in the U.S., though no dates have been announced.
Plant, of course, is fresh off of Led Zeppelin's hugely successful one-night show at London's O2 Arena Monday, which sparked renewed rumors that the rockers would go on to launch a full-scale reunion tour. Most notably, the rockers were being touted as a headlining act for this year's Bonnaroo festival, which is set for June 12-15 in Manchester, Tennessee.
Despite the high hopes of fans and concert promoters alike, no such plans have been announced.
Plant, in particular, has seemed opposed to the idea of hitting the road with his former bandmates.
"The whole idea of being on a cavalcade of merciless repetition is not what it's all about," he told London's Sunday Times before the O2 show.
That said, if the band did decide to tour, there's little doubt it would be a sellout event.
More than 20 million fans entered the lottery for tickets to Monday's concert, for which only 16,000 tickets were available, according to organizers.
Meanwhile, Zeppelin's temporary return has propelled the band to a sizable increase in radio airplay, according to Mediabase, a firm that tracks such numbers for more than 1,800 radio stations in the U.S. and Canada.
Over a two-week period, the band saw a 15.1 percent rise in airplay, with 4,139 spins recorded on Monday and Tuesday of this week, up from 3,514 on Monday and Tuesday of the week before.
The number of song titles in rotation also went up 21 percent, from 84 to 106.
It seems plenty of fans are ready and waiting to get the Led out.
Just to make the distinction, A Zeppelin tour is not needed for a Zeppelin appearance at Bonnaroo. It would just make life a lot easier on regular Roo attendees if they were to headline Bonnaroo in the middle of a North American tour rather than doing a one off gig that would undoubtedly result in the biggest ticket clusterfuck in Roo history.

I agree, superjam with members of Zep would need no real planning.

I made a list of bands touring the midwest and south over the next year. I just thought maybe since they are touring the general vacinity they could possible play Bonnaroo also. I included states like TN, GA, AL, VA, WV, NC, SC, Fl, MO, KY:
DJ LOGIC JOHN PRINE BOB SCHNEIDER BEN FOLDS RAUL MALO DEL McCOURY BAND YO LA TENGO BIG HEAD TODD AND THE MONSTERS FOO FIGHTERS BAND OF HORSES JJ GREY AND MOFRO SHARON JONES AND THE DAP KINGS VAST YONDER MOUNTAIN STRING BAND WILL HOGE BB KING MADELEINE PEYROUX RAQ PATTY GRIFFIN EMMYLOU HARRIS SHAWN COLVIN THE MOTET JASON ISBELL GORDON LIGHTFOOT DIRTY DOZEN BRASS BAND BRAD PAISLEY LOTUS DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS THE LEE BOYS REV.HORTON HEAT THE BLACK LIPS THE BRIDGE CITIZEN COPE ANI DiFRANCO BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN MOODY BLUES RICKY SKAGGS AND BRUCE HORNSBY FLOGGING MOLLY G.LOVE GOV'T MULE KELLER WILLIAMS ARLO GUTHRIE WILLY PORTER BLUE MAN GROUP CHICK COREA AND BELA FLECK REBA McENTIRE ROB ZOMBIE DRESDON DOLLS FRANK CALIENDO WHITE RABBITS THE WALKMEN GALACTIC RANDY NEWMAN DARK STAR ORCHESTRA

^^^Thanks brokenlight, that'll help with my entry for the guess the lineup contest!
And re: Tom Waits, there was this quote from the article:
The show is being hinted at as a precursor to a Waits tour next year. The artist said in a statement, "Somehow we return like the salmon to perform in important towns like Nimrod, Minn.; Square Butt, Mont.; Peculiar, Mo.; or Diagonal, Iowa. We just may be coming to a theatre near you."
That man is such a badass. Everything out of his mouth is pure gold.
But to make a distinction, Bonnaroo, TN is just a state of mind, not an actual city...
it was ment more on a play of what sting had to say during the police performance. every year i get my hopes up for tom and every year i get shut down. but superfly did book that little juant last august (06') and im betting they book this one too. and i 100% agree. the man is a bad ass.
Yeah, the ticket situation would get nasty if Zep was actually announced.
Here's what I propose...
Have a big "?" in place of a set (like last year, that turned into superjam) and keep it that way Bring back JPJ, like, I dunno, as a guest for someone's set. Bring in the Black Crowes, with Jimmy Page. Fly in Jason, for no reason. And, thusly, the most obvious, bring Plant and Krauss.
Throw them together into the "?" placement, and voila.
I really am beginning to believe that Zep is not gonna tour this year. But that's a simple way that they could get away with a "shocker" performance.

I really dont think they would have an un-advertised headliner. I would assume they'd much rather just sell out the tickets in a matter of days/weeks than leave a major headlining slot unannounced.
For sure... You know SOMETHING is gonna be done. I'm completely sold on Krauss and Plant, so, I mean, it'd be kinda slack if they DIDN'T do something special this year...
I could definitely see rush as a possibility. In fact that seems like the perfect band to take Saturday headliner. All we need now is a Sunday night band that can jam for 3 hours like no other. Wide Spread of course is always a possibility, and so is Govt Mule. And we need a psychedelic, yet rocking show from an act that is cutting edge for Friday night. for instance, the last two years we had Radiohead and Tool (Two Amazing Picks). Who I would love to see fill this slot.
Daft Punk - I feel possible. They put on an amazing show at Vegoose, and have the power to take main stage to another world. And they are still out there playing shows (but not touring).
Gorillaz - No Very Possible, but I would love to see what kind of mayhem the Gorillaz would bring to main stage.
Chili Peppers - I know they are off tour, but it is possible they would come and play Bonnaroo (Since they did play Coachella). And I think they have the Rocking Funk feel to do an amazing job.
