Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I've been reading through this thread just to get an idea of what rumors are out there besides Zep, which is not happening. Everyone's forgetting the rumored line up that was posted via internet 2 weeks prior to the official line up being announced last year. That list consisted of Pearl Jam and Bob Dylan headlining. Instead we got The Police and Tool. The year before that in 2006, Pearl Jam was also rumored to headline 'Roo but instead Radiohead got the bill. So, since I started counting, this is Pearl Jam's third year rumored to headline. I'll believe it when I see it. Everyone's forgetting another big band that has reunited with all original members also this year, particularly from overseas...Blur. They would be a fantastic Friday headliner and would make 'Roo really stand out from the other festivals this summer. On a side note I would love to see the Gorillaz play Bonnaroo sometime in the near future as well. Radiohead is another name I keep hearing thrown around. Radiohead will certainly NOT play Bonnaroo this year as they are rumored to be a Lolapollooza exclusive this year. This is backed up by guitarist Jonny Greenwood saying in a recent interview that they would love to play Grant Park again but have been unable to do so with JUST Radiohead due to the city's contract with the festival. Another band a lot of people have overlooked is Jack White's other musical rendering, The Raconteurs. They have had their new album written since last April and currently, they are more than half way finished with it. Jack reportedly said he loved the atmosphere at Bonnaroo and he'd love to come back again. On top of that, the Raconteurs are planning a US tour during the summer. The one band I 100% guarantee you that will be at Bonnaroo this year will be My Morning Jacket. Jim James said last year that the only reason they did not play in '07 was to work on their new album, which they'll be unveiling details of after the new year. Another shortlist of possible 'Roo '08 contenders: Mars Volta, Interpol, Morrissey, Supergrass, Modest Mouse, Mute Math (again), Babyshambles (really crossing my fingers on that one), Band of Horses, Common, My Bloody Valetine. One band I think should play but is unlikely: Violent Femmes.
i think he was talking about the chick at the bottom standing next to a kenny rogers lookalike...
ps- hell ya...
damnit, it seems like tinyurl doesn't work anymore for me here at work. I'll just have to trust you guys that there was something interesting on that site.

The Shins. The Shins the Shins the Shins.
I want them. They're not touring this summer, but they're one of the biggest indie acts of 2007. Superfly would be crazy not to pick them up.
Some other rather big/moderate sized indie acts:
Of Montreal (if you liked Gogol Bordello and his style, you'd probably like their live show) Band of Horses Man Man The Mountain Goats (okay maybe that's just me, I <3 them however) Akron/Family (Again, another AMAZING live show)

Gorillaz would be the ultimate. I really doubt Blur has the ability to headline bonnaroo though. I could see them playing before the headline act though.
^ The Mountain Goats would be freakin' sweet! As would Man Man (those dudes are crazy entertaining live), Band of Horses, and the Shins (I think they'll definitely be at Roo this year). My buddy was just telling me about the new Akron/Family album last night...sounds really cool. I like the way you think! K+

so you know nothing about Led Zeppelin i take it... thats bonham's symbol, sorry yo burst your bubble man.
Ok, so just because I was stating the OBVIOUS about the coincidence of the symbol on his drums and bonnaroo's logo that makes me know nothing about Zep. Get over yourself, I was just trying to help add fuel to the fire of the Zep reunion so the people on the board can have fun with it. Take a chill pill noob, and write something productive, not hating on someone stating a coincidence downing the rumor of Zep playing roo and have a "roo" like symbol in the pic they used for the articles.
Now thats out of the way , the you tube videos look great of the band and it looks like they are having way too much fun to not have a tour next year. Here is wishful thinking that they are playing 30 minutes from my house next year.
on every forum ive ever been on for any type of hobby or music ive noticed that everyone jumps on people for the stupidest shit. It's an old picture of zeppelin with bonham's symbol on the drum, its not like its brand new from the show so how could it ever be connected. Making a simple statement that i don't feel your point holds water. If you wanna take what i say and go ripshit about it go right ahead but its just a simple comment. Maybe i shouldnt have said you know nothing about zep and for that i apologize, otherwise chill out man and enjoy the music

i would like to see something like the chili peppers friday zeppelin saturday and phish sunday, but thats asking a hell of a lot...perhaps if they cant get zep, they could convince david byrne to reunite the talking heads...that would be awazing as well.
and i also think there will probably be a really strong late night, probably better than last year with the money theyll be pulling in, which should be pretty damn impressive...lol i guess this is not a rumor at all, i just felt like joining the discussion...
i feel like seeing zeppelin or chili peppers is even more probable than phish reuniting, especially at bonnaroo of all places. I love phish more than any other band but i don't see them reuniting at Bonnaroo, they would probably have their own festival when they do get together.
I'm more of an observer here, but I saw someone mention Blur and I had to jump in. Despite the fact they are one of my all-time favorite bands, I am not holding my breath waiting for them to record a new album or tour. They have reconciled with Graham Coxon but according to a post on their official site (http://www.blur.co.uk) made on October 4th, 2007:
"In light of recent press speculation, blur.co.uk would like to confirm that Alex, Damon, Dave and Graham met for an enjoyable lunch on Monday, but there are currently no other music plans for Blur."
However, there is another recently reunited British band who IS recording a new album and has been touring recently and that is The Verve. Now that is a band I would love love love to see. I think their psychedelic vibe would work at Roo.

No problems my friend, I was just having fun with the "coincidence" that the bonnaroo symbol and the picture of Zep that billboard chose to pick that had the same symbol front and center of it, with an article debunking them going to roo. I found it funny so I posted it about it, that simple. Apology accepted and I apologize for agging it on with my post. End of discussion.
Anyways, I would really like to see Queens of the Stone Age play around the same time that The Roots played last year with a pre-headling spot. They have never played roo, and supposidely there set at Vegoose was one of the highlights of the festival.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

yeah, these are the bands that roo needs to book. also whoever mentioned babyshambles, my fingers are crossed too. though i'm not sure of the chances.
well, you ask me why i'm drunk all the time it levels my head and eases my mind i just walk along and stroll and sing i see better days and i do better things
It was just mentioned as a gig. The guy who told the story assumed it was Bonnaroo and speculated it as bona fide fact. The problem with the PJ rumors is that PJ has no association with the festival or the people who put it on. They do with ACL and Sasquatch. So while I certainly wouldn't rule out Bonnaroo by any means, I would also suggest that Sasquatch and ACL are just as likely the mystery gig in 2008 for PJ.

Its def. not concrete. I find it to be more feasible than some other rumors. I think It would be awesome for PJ to play. Even more awesome if they had Eddie do an acoustic set and some of his stuff from "Into the Wild"
take this with a grain of salt, but i have a friend who's brother works for superfly in bringing in bands/setting up the lineup, and supposably led zeppelin is "a sure thing" for this year. i know its kind of a chain of sources but any positive news is good news for me she's going to ask her brother about pearl jam so we'll see what the deal for that is
