to address an earlier post - glycolic acid can irritate the skin. if its in shampoo i cant imagine that it would be strong enough, however, it can be a good way to clear up skin issues.
one time my foundation wasnt working right. i tried a lot of different kinds but my skin looked....off color and ...the foundation wouldnt seem to stay on and i didnt know what the heck was going on. i went to a high end cosmetics place and was going to buy some laprarie foundation which was llike 200 dollars (i was that frustrated) but the lady said..no...i should try to clear up my skin first then try my original (cheap) foundation. she suggested a cleanser with a LOT of glycolic acid in it - a LOT -. it was a little more expensive than nutrogena but only maybe 18 dollars. WOW did it work or what. it was a little stinging to the skin and my skin was a little dry for a couple of days but in a week - my skin had totally adjusted and returned to normal. i was able to use my old cheap standby - which might have been maybelline truecolor or wet and wild or something. i still use that cleanser when my skin looks a little bit...ashy or off...and it still works and i still have the same container of cleanser. only use a tiny tiny tiny amount when i need to and use my normal cleanser (cucumber from dollar general store) the rest of the time .
so im saying..glycolic can be irritating because of how it works - i would doubt it would mess you up in shampoo because it wouild be so diluted but it could contribute to the other ingredients. i would think it would clarify your hair and give it volume.
does anyone use nutragena clarifying shampoo. if you use it every once in a while it really cleans the buildup and will give you some volume without having to use product.
im sorry i confused the thread about hair with your thread about your face wash. it WAS face wash..yeah i think its the ingredients in it. let us know if the aloe works.

they sell double sided tape to keep clothes attached to the body. i think you can even get it at walmart in the bra section. i personally have never used it but some of my friends swear by it
Post by starrynight on Mar 5, 2008 17:17:51 GMT -5
i can wear a bra with it, its comes down low and kind of goes across right where the bra strap is and then the rest is out until the bottom band. i was just worried about maybe having a fat roll or something because of where my jeans hit lol but i just put it on and i was silly, it looks fine. i hope.
I think that a lot of the celebs use wig tape to secure their clothing, because it's super strong. But I'd bet the regular double-sided stuff is easier to come by. Unless you have a wig. Hee, hee.
Ahh. Just read your reply. Glad that it worked out, tifflovesroo!
I've used regular double-sided tape and all that happened was I ended up with sticky goo on my skin and random pieces of tape stuck to the outside of my dress. But then I was at a wedding where I did a LOT of dancing. So I imagine in less active situations it would be good.
Fashion Tape is a lifesaver -- double sided, painless and doesn't leave residue. You can usually find it in the lingerie section. Seriously, it's saved hem and cleavage accidents countless times.

i FINALLY got caught up with the best thread on the boards, and i just had to put in my two cents

okay, I figure my girls would give me the best advice on this perhaps.
I have this patch of dry, discolored skin between my breasts. I'm so self conscious about it, but I've tried scrubbing it in the shower and applying lotions.
I haven't wanted to wear any of my low cut shirts for this problem, but I know going to the dermatologist is going to be expensive.
Does anyone know what this might be & how I can get rid of it?! My boyfriend thinks I'm over obsessing, but it's driving me crazy!!!
i second what someone said earlier...it sounds like psoriasis. it runs in my family, so i have it on my scalp, and i use coal-tar shampoo (which smells horrible, but it's the only thing that works for me.) neutrogena t-gel is a good, widely available product. if this doesn't work, you might want to think of going to a dermatologist, or maybe just your regular doctor. also, asking a pharmacist is always my last resort if i'm broke. most pharmacists can tell you which product would work best for you and identify skin conditions. if you're nervous about showing to a male pharmacist, you can always just find a female pharmacist.
and i don't think it's a fungal infection. it would probably be kind of scaly and white in splotches if it were a fungal infection. if it is a fungal infection, the selsun blue/t-gel will not work. you'll need a product for fungus, like lamasil at. if you need to use this, just make sure you wash your hands afterwards.
hope this helps!! my mom is a pharmacy technician, and i have had nearly every single health problem known to man!! my whole life, i've had my doctor and pharmacist on speed dial, and i've been in and out of the hospital a lot. i guess the good part is that my friends always know who to ask when they have a health problem, and it keeps me in tune with my body ;D

How about you ladies? How do you prefer your brows??
i get them threaded. apparently it isnt as big a thing out here on the east coast or something. but it is way better for your skin tha waxing and tons more precise. plus they always shape it perfect.

I just found a really cool site! www.pricepinx.com/ It will watch prices for you on a given internet site and tell you when the price drops, via email! Pretty easy to set up. Register with the site, click on the verification link they send to your email, set up a link to their site in your "Links" folder, go to the site you want to track, copy the price (lots of info on the site about how to correctly do that) and then click on the link to pricepinx in your links. And that's it! It will track the price for you and let you know if the price goes down. I set up some camping equipment trackers, but one could totally stalk clothing or anything else using it. Pretty neat!

i LOVE that first dress!! unfortunately delia's never seemed suited for girls as large in the chest area as i am
i think it depends on what you get there. I'm a C (not huge I know, but definitely not small) and I have a strapless dress from there thats way too big in the chest. Some of their stuff is really tiny though.

i'm a DD, so i'm used to having a hard time fitting into certain store's dresses.
i found a really cute pattern for a couple dresses, and my mom is going to help me sew them since i don't have a sewing machine. i just need to go and pick out some fabric.

LoL I don't know about NJ but in our malls here on long Island they have threading booths for people to get their eyebrows done while shopping. I'm too scared to try it though, I heard it hurts a lot more then waxing which makes me cry as it is lol.

yeah, i've seen threading booths and hair straightening booths throughout roosevelt field, but i've haven't tried threading either. everyone has different opinions on it. i've never had a problem with simply tweezing so i dont feel the need to try anything else, or atleast not now.
