I'm thinking my favorite stretchy knee length knit skirt and a tee/tank. That way I can be comfy sitting for the 5-6 hours from Cincinnati (and more in line) but still be able to move around and set up without worrying about flashing anyone.
I'm a little worried...you girls seem to have every outfit planned out! It's my first festival, and my friend told me that I wouldn't wear as many clothes as I thought, so don't plan, just bring. Maybe I'll 'twirlaroo' tonight after I do laundry and perhaps have time to run last-minute 'roo shopping...eek!
P.S. I AM SUPER EXCITED BECAUSE MY BOYFRIEND FLIES IN FROM AUSTIN TOMORROOOWWW
I only have an hour drive, but I am wearing shorts and tanktop so I can be comfortable while setting up our camp. The rest of the weekend will be spent in dresses.
OK you all have convinced me to pull the stick out & *cringe* go with a couple of sundresses, and tank tops to wear with a few silk skirts that I found at Earthbound Trading Company.

OMG I can't believe I leave in 2 hours!!!! I still need to finish packing!!!
Soooo I ended up getting my period this morning, cutting my legs yesterday walking into a bed frame lol, and breaking my cell....super way to start the trip...whatever bonnaroo will take it all away
HAPPY BONNAROO GIRLS!! THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR <33333333333333
Happy Bonnaroo!! Since I'm only an hour away and we're leaving around 5 p.m. today, I'll just wear the comfy stuff I'm wearing to work: black yoga skirt from Oldnavy and blue tank top. As for the whole weekend, I have 3 dresses, 1 smocked mini dress w/ black yoga shorts to wear under it, 1 tank, 1 short black skirt, 2 bikinis, 2 pairs of leggies, 2 awesome wraps and a pair of black tights. Oh and something to sleep in.
I thought about wearing the maxi dress I just bought into Roo, but I think I might wear my cotton gauchos instead and just take the dress along. I also have a pair of bright orange shorts and a pink shirt that I might wear sometime. I'm bringing my neon green shoes in case I do. Otherwise, I plan on spending the weekend in a tankini and bottoms with my 2006 Bonnaroo sarong. Soooo comfy and cool!

Thank you to the person who recommended rain boots. I bought $7 pair at Walmart (same type for the hubby) - luckily I have large feet so I fit into the men's size. Anywho - made the festival. My husband was like, this would have been really awful if you didn't bring these. Much thanks

Indeed! My friends and I ordered mine last minute and they arrived on Wednesday afternoon...... I would have been a mess without them and damn we looked cool
I rocked the sleeveless sundresses and tops all 4 days without a care in the world! So nice to be comfortable.
Me, too! Except Sunday during the day, when I wore a man's white Oxford shirt over my dress. I got a rough burn on my back Saturday during RyG and wanted to protect it from further damage. So if you saw that, it was probably me. ;D

Well girls it was great to meet some of you at the brunch! I just wish I'd gotten to meet more people.
I got a huge kick out of seeing how many people around the fest were wearing those Walmart dresses! I had the pink one (the one with the somewhat floral pattern that also came in purple and I believe brown) and the blue and brown smocked top one with the pockets, and every day I saw a handful of other girls wearing each of them. I was wearing the pink one at the brunch and mayonaise was wearing the smocked top one and she said she had tried on the one I was wearing and I said that the one she was wearing was in my bag and I had almost worn it to the brunch! ;D
I'm so, so glad I went with dresses this year instead of shorts and tanks like I did in 07. Cool and comfortable and I felt so cute! Or at least, I felt cute whenever I managed to not think about what my hair must have looked like! Hahaha. And I felt totally awesome when I was rocking out my tutu and pirate hat too...SO glad I took the time to make that tutu! It sort of came in handy for smuggling in some glowsticks too.

Awww blurry! Damn. Oh well, that's so going to be my new facebook picture anyway. The bandanna that matches the previous outfit instead of that one is an especially nice touch, I think! ;D

Having mine squashed in my bag for a couple days helped a bit, I think!
Beyond that, I don't know. What kind of tulle do you use? If it's the coarser stuff with the larger holes in the netting, I'd switch to the softer more tightly woven stuff - more comfortable and less poofy. But if you're already using the softer stuff I don't know. Maybe take some old pantyhose or tights or something and pull the tutu into a section of one of the legs of the tights so that it's all squashed into a narrow cylinder and store it like that.
okay. first i'd like to say thank to everyone for all the advice. as for clothes, i overprepared beyond all rational thought. (actually for everything, especially food, but that's another story). i brought roughly 15+ outfits, not being sure if i wanted shorts or skirts/dresses each day, and pants for at night. i knew going in that i wouldn't wear it al, but i wanted to have options i figured i'd let you all know what i wore, as i just did laundry, so someone might have a good idea what to wear next year, or so you can all have a good laugh.
i'll mention here that i saw about 50 girls wearing the cute $10 smocked dress i bought at walmart so i didn't wear that.
drove up in shorts and a tank. changed in line into a tank and boxers because i'd been in the car for 15+hours. thursday night we got soaked and changed into board shorts, a tank, and a hoodie. bikini and boxers friday, jeans and tee friday night. smocked dress from target and another bikini on saturday morning, wore jeans and a corset tank and my cloak to nin that night. saturday night into sunday i didn't sleep went from late night-morning moe to the cinema tent all wet cold morning while the fam slept. crashed for an hour or so and switched to a v neck shirt sunday afternoon. that lasted me all of roo. we'd packed up the car sundy morning, because we heard about the impending hailstorm, so we slept in the car sunday night and i woke up halfway through atlanta. switched into some drawstring shorts for the rest of the ride home.
1 shorts, 2 boxers, 1 drawstring shorts, 1 board shorts. 4 tanks, 2 bikinis, 2 jeans. 1 dress, 1 cloak, 2 shirts. that's it. four festival days and two days driving. so much for overpacking. i didn't even wear one third of what i brought.
here's what i've decided, fashion-wise: 1. all of my snug fitting button and zip shorts just looked awful to me. every day. too damn hot. elastic waists and boxer were my cool and breezy friend. 2. same went for the sundress. may wear more of these next year but my karizas were long and it was mudaroo so no thanks. 3. bathing suits are your friend. they are also perfect underwear. no wedgies and somewhat wicking, aka no swamp ass. hooray. 4. wearing jeans at night was great but i rolled them up to almost my knees. mud. again. now, i roll them up anyway because i am a huge dork but still. 5. high socks are your friend. the grass is sharp. the mud is gross. and its cold at night. i wore flips during the day except when it was super muddy and i wore sneakers at night and when i wore sneakers, i wore high socks. my legs were happy. 6. mud boots are awesome and i wish i had some. i will bring them next year. rain on the ground mixed with sand here in fl is very different from what happens in tn. i've learnt my lesson. actually going to look for some crazy cowboy boots for a fun statement next year. hehe. 7. bandannas and hats were invaluable. so was chap stick. i have this loreal color juice glossy lipstick/balm stuff and it was fun to not be chapped and have bright red lips. 8. i actually wore makeup. not foundation and not during the daytime, but it was fun to do some craaazy eye makeup at nights. strangely enough, i dont have pictures of it. think glittery and swirly and insane. went well with the glow stuff. 9. we didn't bring nearly enough glow stuff. we'll know better for next year. oriental trading company. yeah. 10. my feet got really dried out and built up calluses pretty fast even though i'd smoothed them the day we left. this made for sore feet after about saturday afternoon. bringing a heel shaver next year. 11. if you get your hoodie wet, it's going to stay wet. we hung clothes on the fence and on the makeshift clothesline we made from there to the canopy with bungee cords, and most everything dried, but the hoodie didn't. and it gets COLD. i stole husband's all weekend and i'm betting he was cold. bringing a backup next year. 12. there is no such thing as enough socks.
I wore my Sanuks around all weekend, and love love love them!
Oh, and in sorta fashion news... I picked out my ring this weekend! ;D
It's just the stone in a very plain setting right now... but I'm looking around for the mounting I actually want. I want a vintage filagree setting, so I've been searching antique jewelry stores all day. yay! If any of you girls know a great vintage jewelry store, please let me know.
www.FayCullen.com is where we acquired my engagement ring, they are a great company to deal with, and they have some amazingly beautiful antique jewelry. I highly recommend checking their stuff out, though I don't know if they have settings alone.
Wow. I'm really digging up the past. But I have to say thank you thank you thank you thank you for posting this link. My guy and I just got engaged and he got a ring from there and it is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!

Ok ladies. I need some help! I'm looking at wedding dresses online, but I'm terrified of looking like a commercial bride. I love these that someone posted a ways back wai-ching.com/ but I can't find anything else that I like. I need more options than just one designer. Anyone have any links for some really unique dresses?

Honestly, I have found some really awesome and unique dresses on Etsy. Like abstractpretty has some really pretty dresses and pieces she has made: www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5032591§ion_id=5431901 and I *know* I've seen a dress on Etsy that had an entire front panel (top to hem) that was a forest mural with the bride and groom on it. Really cool looking, for me at least.
Also check out offbeatbride.com. Ariel compiles photos and stories from "offbeat" weddings; it's a good inspiration site.
Congratulations Clarity!!! I'm happy you also found a ring at Fay Cullen, I'm still in love with mine and love knowing it's one of a kind!
to anyone looking - for wedding bands I highly recommend Etsy (GOD I LOVE THIS SITE!) - unique styles, much better pricing, and direct from the artists themselves, that's where we found my fiancees' wedding band! Etsy is also amazing for any other wedding ideas like invites, decor, bridal accessories, and it's worth a look for dresses too!
I can't think of any specific dress sites but in the meantime offbeatbride.com/ has been a HUGE source of information and ideas for me - including dress ideas, you might be able to find something through there. They also have a community you can join offbeatbride.ning.com/ which is also really helpful
This site is also great and brides can resell their dresses here too: www.oncewed.com/
Clarity - is there any specific styles your going for - casual, retro? Does it matter what color it is or if it's short or long? Sometimes you can find white dresses at clothing stores that work just fine as wedding dresses
Bonzie - occasionally makes dresses, but makes really beautiful boleros that can be paired with a simple strapless dress (be sure to check out her sold items to see everything she can do!)
oh and I just have to say the weddings on www.oncewed.com are so beautiful they make me want to cry! They are so beautiful it hurts! I can only hope my wedding will look as amazing as these!

I guess I don't really know. I've never been one of those girls planning since they were 8, ya know? But we are almost definitely going to have an outdoor wedding, possibly in my mom's garden (she's an amazing gardener). So I don't want something tooooo formal, and I love really unique exotic dresses, hopefully that aren't all white. Very non-traditional and whimsical. Like I love the wai dress with the dip-dye turquoise. Love it!

I know nothing about wedding dresses but I like the idea of looking on Etsy. You could look around for someone whose style you liked even if they don't specifically have dresses that would work for a wedding and then see if they could do a custom piece for you, if their price range is such that you can afford to pay extra for custom. I bet there are a lot of people who would love to do that if the price was right, and that way you could work with the designer to come up with something great. And how awesome would it be to have a wedding dress that was custom made for you?!
