That 100% do NOT help in convincing me to go this year. In fact that is quite the opposite. UGH.
Wait is Purity Ring like not good now? I only know a couple songs, but I really like those couple songs
No, their new album is fantastic. I saw them in Memphis and they put on a fantastic show. Mostly the new stuff but they threw in some old classics like Fineshrine, Obedear, and Crawlersout. So glad they got added to the lineup.

That's good to hear, I'm already not so sure about enough artists that I like on this lineup (Kid Cudi, Pretty Lights, Crystal Castles)
For those of you going (I still might go one day if the schedule looks good), Pretty Lights' set will be the live band.
Do they offer one-day tickets? My wife and I and some friends were going to go to BUKU, but after the lineup release we decided against it. We'll still be down there on vacation, however, and a one-day ticket might be worthwhile.

That's excellent. I'm not sure who will be in the band, as different live people come and go. Last time I saw it was with members of Break Science, Lettuce and a couple of other random musicians I can't remember. But since they all run around together and jam and record together, I like the live version of Pretty Lights over the DJ/Derek-only version, though that would have been fine. Did you get that info on Jambase, or did Buku put it out or something?
2024: The Floozies, Phyphr, Disco Biscuits, Cimafunk, WSMFP, The Killers, Cory Wong, Dumpstaphunk, Bomba Estereo, Molly & Golden Hwy, Big Freedia, Payton/Nth Power, A.P&TFN

This is definitely not my favorite year. But they still have a Phase 2 where they'll probably announce 7-10 more acts (no idea where they lie on the card). Apparently Purity Ring is one of them, though I'm kind of like Vieux on them. I'll give it a listen if I don't have a conflict for that. Don't forget that even if you are in town and don't go to Buku, 311 Day (and 312 Day) is also the same nights, and neither of them are sold out yet either. There should be a few officially sanctioned night shows as well as superjams and unsanctioned performances. Depending on when you get in, Buku always does a kickoff show on Thursday. Last year was Trollphace & Snails. They did a 1am show at The Joy featuring GRiZ with members of Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and then they did another late show on Saturday with STS9. There should be several other shows with all the clubs in town and people as well for 311 and Buku.

Buku just put it out.. Its his Analog Future Band..
Adam Deitch, Eric Krasno, Borahm Lee, Brian Coogan, Eric Bloom, Scott Flynn, and Chris Karns + Derek -- that was the lineup in late 2015

Thanks for the info. We'll be in town from that Thursday to the next Thursday, so a pre-show or late-night shows would be perfect for our group!
Great news. Analog Future Band is pretty great in my opinion.
Deitch being Lettuce & Break Science (Drummer), Lee being Break Science (keyboards & producer), Krasno being Soulive, Lettuce, random other bands (Guitar); Bloom being Lettuce (including Shady Horns) Soulive & Sonic Bloom (Trumpet & other horns); Chris Karns (DJ Vajra) (Turntables and scratching) and Scott Flynn from Elephant Wrecking Ball and John Brown's Body (Trombone).
I think he did something with a live band at Voodoo 2014, but I was at Foo Fighters. So the last time I saw him do a live set was at Champion's Square which I think was also in 2014. It was pretty great.

So hopefully they will put something out in the next week or two. And take this for what it's worth. I was talking to one of my kids' friends who told me that he either saw or someone told him (2 strikes) but apparently someone hit up Derek and asked which day he was playing so they could plan their trip accordingly. Allegedly he said the 11th but the guy should come for the weekend as they'd be getting into shenanigans all weekend. I expected that with the Lettuce/Break Science crew, and I doubt Derek does any solo or digital shows that are announced. Though he could be at almost anything for the late of overnight shows.

Joy did GRiZ w Pres Hall Brass and Tribe last year. Tribe was different night than they played, so it would be super cool to catch Pretty Lights in any capacity at 1am. Haha. I'd go provided I could still stand from Turkey 101. \m/

Lame. They posted it on SnapChat as well. My tickets as of now are looking like they are up for sale. I might wait until I get the wristband in hand and they sell out and maybe make a profit. Unless any of y'all are interested. In that case I would just like to recoup my spending.
BUKU 2016 FINAL LINEUP ANNOUNCED! We're excited to announce that Purity Ring, Deorro, Rae Sremmurd, Datsik, Claptone, Lee Foss, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Break Science, Oneman B2B My Nu Leng, Sunsabetchez, and KTRL will be joining us for BUKU 2016!
Artists by Stages, additional VIP S.S. BUKU performances, and local showcases have also been announced - see below for a full listing

Rae Sremmurd will be fun. I'm also looking forward to Purity Ring even though we knew about that one already. I'm just really happy to finally see which artists are going to play which stages
It looks like the Ballroom Stage is my stage again this year....Purity Ring, Crystal Castles, Rae Sremmurd, A$AP Ferg, Cashmere Cat b2b Trippy Turtle, Earl Sweatshirt, Mystikal b2b Juvenile b2b Fly Boi Keno, and Break Science.
Will definitly be up front for CHVRCHES at the Power Plant stage, and I'll probably check out Cudi and Pretty Lights over there too. Mija is the only thing I'm super interested in at the Float Den, but she'll probably be early in the day so I can most likely see her. Then I need to look up all these artists playing the Back Alley

Here we go, 'BUKrewe! Purity Ring, Deorro, Rae Sremmurd, DATSIK, Claptone, Lee Foss, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Break Science, Sweater Beats, and more just announced! We've got some rad additions to the VIP S.S. BUKU and FRONT YARD too!
None of these do shit for me except Break Science. BLARG. Over BUKU this year.
Son of a bitch, Anderson Paak alone really makes me wish I could make this
Only things I know on the additions are Break Science - which is awesome for me since the first time I saw them was Buku 2013 and loved them and Datsik who I don't mind (we already knew Purity Ring was getting added). From what I can tell from simple Wiki/Web searches:
Lee Foss - is a deep house/techno DJ from Chicago area who also has an act known as Hot Natured with Jamie Jones, Ali Love & Luca C). Deep House is hit and mostly miss for me, but I'll give him a listen at some point.
Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals - Looks like he's a DJ/Producer/Rapper from Oxnard in Southern California and the Free Nationals seem to be sort of a downbeat band. I found a clip with a chick rapper and I think he's producing. Could be a sleeper show here.
One-man b2b My Nu Leng - Says One-man is a DJ from London who plays a mix of dubstep-hiphop-grime-UK funky and garage; My Nu Leng looks to be a dual producer/dj outfit. This could maybe be a cool add. I have no idea.
Rae Sremmurd - Duo of rapping brothers out of Tupelo, MS now based in Atlanta who rap trap and dirty south (along with some pop rap stuff which apparently went pretty high in the US charts). This might be cool, and Buku has no shortage of good rappers.
Deorro - Los Angeles/Mexican-American DJ fka TONIC who Wiki says plays Keyboards and Turntables and styles include Dutch House, Progressive House, electro house, trap and Melbourne House whatever that is.
Claptone is a German DJ from Berlin.
I'm thinking Sunsabatchez and KTRL are both local NOLA DJ's but I could be wrong. ------------------------------------ Top sets going into the weekend (as of now) for me are:
Pretty Lights Future Analog Band GRiZ Break Science Mystikal x Juvenile x Fly Boy Keno A$AP Ferg Baauer Feed Me Funk Hunters Future Datsik Yellow Claw G. Jones What So Not
So if any of the other top shit like Kid Cudi, Chrvches, Miike Snow, Crystal Castles, Rae Sremmurd etc. are good, it should be great. Hoping to get GRiZ again for a latenight live band show and certainly Pretty Lights already said they have some Grade A Side Sh*t planned for Saturday night, so hopefully he does something with Break Science or other members of Lettuce/Future Analog beyond the set they do live on the river.
