Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I would also like to thank Newport for booking the only four modern Country artists that I like. (Ellis, Fritz, Simpson, & now Romano).
No love for Kacey or Hayes Carll?
I can't get into Kacey (although I sure would like to... heh), just checked out Hayes and he ain't too bad. When I was a youngster, my parents brought me to all the country shows that my dad would play in so it was forced upon me. I of course rebelled by listening to heavy metal once I got older. But once my musical horizons broadened more, and I got into folk and bluegrass, country music is starting to creep back into my life. The last thing I want to do is to make my father proud...
What do y'all think the odds are of Avett Brothers being there this year? I'm seeing them the Wednesday after in upstate NY and they're going to be with Madisen Ward and Shakey Graves. I wouldn't mind seeing them for a third time this summer.

I would say that if anyone is going to be there it would be Seth And Jessica
should i be ashamed that i like the Modest Mouse tune Lampshades on Fire? Its grown on me like barnacles.
On June 6th we are getting Hurray for the Riff Raff at the tiny Columbus. We are in.$15. Our first trip to the renovated Columbus was with ITM. That was a wonderful night. Providence Lupos/Met/Columbus are starting to get some good music, Finally!
I love and chuckle reading ITM's veteran posts about NFF. As I 'mature in years of age' its become my goal to not inflict my will on others. That said I hold firm that forcing ITM to except an NFF ticket and all but dragging him up here was a life success.
K2b - you will be here for NFF. Steph - you too. uh -oh..sounds like I'm breaking my rule. BAD Dobby!
Really want to pull something/sometime together to meet the fabulous folks in this thread that are not yet Quack Clubbers.
This post has all sorts of happiness in it!
My favorite Modest Mouse song off of their new album is "Sugar Boats." The last time I played it for a friend I was met with the response: "Damn, are we at a circus or something?"

Come back from Coachella to see this. Talk about catching some feelings.
(She stood right next to me!!!!)
fawnmart, you are always too amazing. Always. Fingers crossed the stars align & I make it a work trip. Because that's how this needs to happen. And there really is no reason why it can't happen that way. I'll know more on the 28th when I come up there.
Fri: MMJ Sat: James Taylor - or Alabama Shakes if they spent too much trying to get... Sun: Bob Dylan
If this were the case, then either we're not getting Dylan or The Decemberists are pre-HL and NFF got an unexpected boost in the budget.
I sort of laughed off the idea of having James Taylor as a headliner until I saw the dates. I can now support this idea. I'd be surprised if we got both JT and Dylan as headliners though.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Am I the only one that actually hopes Dylan doesn't get added as a headliner?
I understand the historical connection to NFF, but I can't think of a single person I know who has said they actually enjoyed a concert of his in the past few years. Some even going as far as walking out of the show because it was so unbearable. While it'd be neat to be able to say I was present for him at the anniversary, it isn't much more than a novelty to me (for lack of a better term) and would much rather see some who is still able to sing or at least be decipherable.

Saw him last year in Providence and I enjoyed it very much, and hope that he does get added

I saw Dylan at the Academy of Music in Philly last year.... his voice isn't what it used to be, but just being in a room with Bob Dylan was good enough for me! I'd love to see him play on Sunday!

Looking forward to Angel Olsen. Never quite gotten into the records, but I know critics in particular LOVE her and hoping to be impressed w/ the live show.
I think the thing with Dylan is to know what to expect. A lot of people I've talked to who were dissatisfied were hoping for him strumming acoustic guitar, singing "Blowin' in the Wind." Which is not an unreasonable assumption for a "classic" act (many of his peers play to their history more), but not at all what you're going to get with him. It's all full band, he'll play little if any guitar, and the songs will often be radically rearranged. Also, while he'll do a few chestnuts, it's going to be a lot of new stuff too. If you're ok with that going in though, I think you'll like it a lot more. His voice is pretty gravelly these days, but on a good night he can still sing the hell out of some songs. And he's pushing himself creatively in ways few of his peers do, rather than resting on laurels.
Whether or not we get Dylan I've decided I really want Emmylou Harris to pre-headline Sunday. She's the last FloydFest act I'm really hoping we get. Especially because the idea of her being there while First Aid Kit sing "Emmylou" is pretty awesome

Additionally she is playing a free show in Boston on Folk Saturday, so I'm also pulling for her as well
