Sufjan Stevens would be a headliner at Newport, right?
Not too sure. I suppose we could get him instead of MMJ on Friday, but I'd much rather him AND MMJ. He's doing pretty much his whole new, folk fest friendly album on tour, so I hope we get him!

I don't think my heart could handle that on top of today's announcement!
We could also get the Basement Tapes at the top of Friday.
Everyone is available except Taylor. That's a good enough ratio
should i be ashamed that i like the Modest Mouse tune Lampshades on Fire? Its grown on me like barnacles.
On June 6th we are getting Hurray for the Riff Raff at the tiny Columbus. We are in.$15. Our first trip to the renovated Columbus was with ITM. That was a wonderful night. Providence Lupos/Met/Columbus are starting to get some good music, Finally!
I love and chuckle reading ITM's veteran posts about NFF. As I 'mature in years of age' its become my goal to not inflict my will on others. That said I hold firm that forcing ITM to except an NFF ticket and all but dragging him up here was a life success.
K2b - you will be here for NFF. Steph - you too. uh -oh..sounds like I'm breaking my rule. BAD Dobby!
Really want to pull something/sometime together to meet the fabulous folks in this thread that are not yet Quack Clubbers.

It was wonderful! Thank you so much for thinking of me, yet again!

Getting schammered with you and your mom in NYC- Absolutely F-ing PRICELESS. OK maybe we just got started at the Piggly Wiggly pub before parting ways but Priceless weekend ... At least i could leave under my own power unlike the billypilgrim NY weekend.
Has everyone heard the new Calexico? It's on NPR first listen and very, very good. I think it may be my favorite of their albums. Sonicly it's more reminiscent of their early stuff but it has their improved songwriting of the last two albums. Best of both worlds and a really great album

Also, with the Splendour in the Grass announcement, we can most likely count out Of Monsters & Men, Florence + The Machine, The Districts, Boy & Bear, C.W. Stoneking, and Blur (I was positive this was the year we would hear an acoustic version of Song 2 at the Fort!) Three more off my bingo card...

I am definitely looking for the Quack Club badges this year! I've enjoyed everyone's comments and knowledge of music so much. It would be great to put faces with the names. And my friend gets tired of my lame dance moves---we need others to do crazy dance moves with!
Hi y'all. I've been lurking on this thread since its inception, even was following most of last years thread for NFF and y'all seem like a fun bunch. I figured I should go ahead and create an account finally considering I may very well be going to the festival alone this year.
Last year was my first NFF and I immediately decided I'll be going to it every year from now on as it blew every other festival I've been to out of the water. This years lineup already has nailed a few acts that i've been dying to see for ages (Laura Marling was probably the most exciting one for me).

Mortopher - welcome to the safest little corner of Inforoo! Are you local to NFF or a traveller?

Figures I was sick on the day the band I was most hoping for gets announced - The Decemberists!!! Now just add MMJ and Dylan to round it out and I'll be happy ; )
Incidentally, I noticed someone complaining in an Instagram comment that there were more Newport vets this year compared to normal, at least so far, and fewer first-time artists. As a first-timer myself I wondered - any truth in that?

This is true, there are more vets than new artists this year, so far
