I became a Clemson fan in 1994 when I decided to go to school there. I have never experienced a 10-1 season. It's pretty awesome. We have to win next week. I can't handle losing to the Cocks another year. With our offense, I believe we can. Our defense has gotten better this year, doing better of late than I expected. This will be a LONG week.

i remember the late 80's/early 90's run of 10 win seasons. but this is the only the 2nd 10 win regular season we've ever had. the other was 1981 when we won the national championship. so if we beat sc and win a bcs bowl i think we can say this is the 2nd best season clemson has ever had.
After last night, not surprised by Dooley at all. Over/under attendance at home game vs Kentucky? I'll take under on 60k.
Yeah, tickets were already at a low of $15 on stubhub before the game yesterday. I just checked and they are now at a low of $8. I don't think they were even this low for the GA Southern game.
I work with a guy who has had season tickets for years and years. He said the only reason he is going Saturday is because he already has tickets and knows he won't get anything for them if he sells them.
And I forgot about Florida St., I just figured they beat everyone else in the ACC.
Probably not. Kentucky is having an even worse season than us. Their coach got fired 2 weeks ago. They're currently 2-9, so we should be safe. There's just not a lot of interest in the last home game because we are definitely not going to a bowl, and there is little joy in beating Kentucky and it would be horrible to watch UT lose to Kentucky as well.

Bob Stoops has been brought up a bunch to replace Dooley at UT. Does anyone know why? I figured he was firmly in place at Oklahoma and wouldn't want to leave.
lol@the amount of butthurt if nd loses to usc setting up another sec/sec title game
I have a feeling either 1) Florida loses to Florida St or 2) Pollsters won't put Florida in over Oregon. Imo Oregon would have a better reason to go in, assuming they win out.
And if Georgia somehow beats Alabama, I'll just puke if they represent the SEC in the championship game. They haven't really played like a championship team this year. They've only had 2 ranked games all season and got crushed in one of them and beat a questionable Florida team in the other. This coupled with skipping the entire SEC West and close games with UT and UK make me not think too highly of them as a BCS champ contender.
Just a random thought, I wonder if the SEC will eventually drop the championship game in light of the playoff format. If they didn't have one this year, it is possible they would get 3 teams into the playoff. With a championship game, the loser would probably drop out.

In other news, Maryland and Rutgers have joined the Big Ten, making them an even worst conference...I wonder why they would want those 2 teams. I'm sure the kids will love the trip from New Jersey all the way out to Minnesota...
And now the ACC scrambles to find another school. Looking like it will be UCONN. Not sure how I feel about that. It would be great for trash talking with my CT co-workers, but it doesn't help football at all. Even with all they are going thru, I wish they would pursue Penn State. Or convince ND to come on in for football. We have $50M to offer now. Ugh, life in the ACC.

^^^How about South Florida? They fit nice geographically and their athletic teams are slowly getting better. UCONN is just so far from the rest of the conference. That's what I don't get about a lot of this realigning business, the geographical representations are becoming meaningless and schools have to travel halfway across the country to play each other, see: West Virginia or Iowa State going to Texas.
Well, they've added Pitt, Syracuse, & BC, so why not UCONN.
Yes, I personally wish they would choose schools closer to where most schools are geographically, but they did away with that years back. I don't see myself making any of those trips anytime soon. Not sure how I feel about USF. I guess I'd just like a 'sexy' add & that's not happening.

Rutgers is 9-1 this year (yes, they did lose to Kent State). They've been a program on the rise for years and seem to be getting even better, landing a lot of four and even five star recruits. Why wouldn't the Big 10 want them?
Maryland is terrible and is going to get beat up even worse. They can battle Indiana for the conference's cellar dweller.

I know Rutgers program has been heading in the right direction, but I feel they'd be no better than 5th in the Big 10 this year. Probably 6th, maybe 7th.

True they've been getting better, but in the Big East no less. The Big Ten, as mediocre as it is, still probably has 2 or 3 teams that could go undefeated in the BE year in and year out. I guess I'm just not sure if they really think they're upgrading or just wanting to expand. It seems if they wanted a more consistent program and ones that add basketball, they might have gone after Louisville, Cinci, or Pitt from the BE.
