^^ That's fine, but the closer the games, the higher the variance. Honestly, they should have lost to Pitt though, that was ridiculously lucky. Purdue by 3, BYU by 3, Pitt in OT. Let's face it, they're no championship contender. I will give them credit for the OU game though, that was impressive.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda. ND is legit, their defense is frightening and if you don't see the value in their style don't blame the team. They are a football purists wet dream on defense.
How you can say matter-of-factly they're not a championship contender is beyond me. They have a scary good defense, an emotional leader whose fortitude while dealing with personal tragedy is remarkable and oh, yeah, they're Notre f*cking Dame. Do you realize what it would mean for ND and the NCAA in general to have them in a national championship game?
Start using your head and realize that the NCAA is a giant money-making racket and ND makes them the most money if they're in a title game.

By 'not a championship contender' I mean I wouldn't put them in above Kstate or Oregon. I just wouldn't put them in that league. They have a great defense, but their offense is poor. Oregon and Kstate have much better balance. I'm not talking about who the league would like to have in the game, just who would be most deserving out of the 3. There's still a long way to go though, this is all pretty moot.
You make a good point, sir, but ND can still eat a value sized bag of d*cks.
With my incredibly Irish name I know it's a shock, but my family loves ND. So while I don't particularly follow college football as a whole until it's time to scout the inevitable Jets draft busts, I know my ND football. That being said, UT can suck a donkey d*ck

Why aren't they in the same league as K-State? You don't think ND has a chance to absolutely thump the Wildcats in a head-to-head? Because I sure as sh*t do. The Big 12 is a trainwreck and their defenses might as well be mannequins. They don't have a single team that even sniffs the Irish defensively. They'd eat that read option and sh*t out silver. And their offense isn't poor, it's a run-first offense that is focused on ball security, clock control and field position. They know as long as they don't turn it over a bunch and give the opponent short fields, they'll only need about 20-25 points to win comfortably.
I personally think Oregon is the best team in college football, and it's between KState and ND for who has the right to play them.

I'd agree with Oregon being the best, though honestly the meat of their schedule is ahead of them, so we'll see if they can keep up the pace. Hopefully Mariota and Barner don't get banged up anymore.
On a positive note for UT, Bray is on pace to hit 4,000 yards if they can make a bowl game (though it's possible without one). He has 1,060 yards to go to pass Tim Couch's SEC record of ~4,265. The negative side of this is I still have to convince people at work why he's not a top round draft pick.....
if UGA upsets alabama and still gets snubbed out of the bcs title game by a limpdick team like ND somebody is getting murdered
Eww, Georgia? They have a nice record, but who have they had to play? They somehow avoided the entire SEC west this year. They've only played 2 ranked teams - a blowout vs SC and an 8 point win versus an equally "meh" team in Florida. Not to mention a 5pt win over UK and 7 over UT. I'd say they're fairly overrated, imo. I guess we'll see against Alabama.

You will have trouble convincing people on Bray because:
1) Nobody wants to talk about the offense. In addition to his season marks, he also set a UT record for passing yards in a single game and is #2 on the SEC list. Nobody said sh*t about this because the defense blows, and everyone is knee deep in Dooley speculation. 2) He has some consistency issues. He has had some awesome games, but he has had some crap games as well. 3) All evidence leads toward him having a crap attitude. The stuff with the police I am not terribly worried about. He is young and drinks. He has a tendency to give up in rally situations, and there is the ever present rumor of locker room issues and him purposefully tanking the Kentucky game last year rather than go to a sh*tty bowl. Once again, the last part is rumor, but it's something that has followed him the entirety of his tenure here.
1 loss SEC champion > undefeated team not named Oregon
Undefeated teams with wins against 4 ranked opponents (two in the top 5) > One-loss teams with one win against a ranked opponent (who wasn't in the top 5)

^^ No one has wins against 2 top 5 opponents or likely will. Unless you're using pre-season rankings or rankings at the time. The same rankings where Arkansas and Michigan were top 10 teams :0

Let's face it, he has one of the best o-lines in the country and some of the best receivers too. He's only been sacked 5 times the whole season, at least 1/3 to 1/5 of what most have been sacked in the SEC. With all of this, he still just complete 61% of passes. Not exactly precision passing imo. He's more of a volume passer, which is like calling Westbrook a volume shooter.
Ultimately, NFL guys will likely look at how he played in SEC games and those haven't been his best games. Though I will give him this, he has improved in those games. He played well against SC and Mizzou. He just needs a ton of improvement in pressure situations. If he returns next year (and I think he needs a ton of development), the o-line won't be nearly as good and neither will the receivers and his stock may drop. He might just take that 3rd-4th rd draft pick and leave.

I still honestly go back and forth on Dooley coming back. I had a moment of clarity this morning. The Vandy game is at 7 tonight, and I am worried about it... the Vandy game. Add this to us being 4pt underdogs and Vandy being bowl eligible already whereas we have to win out to secure it. Not good. Not good at all.
I'm supposed to be in Atlanta right now, but car problems put a stop to that. I've been pretty depressed these last 2 days , but after a call this morning from our awesome aunt & uncle giving us 3 tickets, I will be sitting in Death Valley very shortly.

How happy is Alabama that it was Oregon and Kstate that lost? They had trouble with Manziel and would've had trouble with Mariota or Klein. Notre Dame plays straightforward football and so does Alabama, which is to Alabama's advantage.
Non conference game would affect the bowl position? Didn't Clemson win the ACC already?
I think Stanford won the Pac 12 North beating UO and OSU. Makes me a little hopeful about the Civil War next weekend. Beat UCLA who won the South, and aside from that crap game with Washington in Seattle (always a tough place to play) have done well.

fsu is going to win the acc. they beat us to win the division and whoever they play from the other division in the championship game sucks. clemson will get an at large bcs bid if they beat sc.
