i'm $8.02 short in my checking account because i was counting on getting 1st tier. i went ahead an ordered 2nd tier anyway and i got the "your order is complete, this is your receipt" page. I'm a n00b with checking/visa cards, is it ok that i went over? and is my order definitely in? i havent gotten an email confirmation yet.
I work in financial audit, generally if it's a debit or what's called an ACH "Automated clearing house" payment, your bank will honor it, but you will be charged overdraft charges by your bank if you arent able to deposit the difference. Keep in mind, most banks are closed Monday due to President's Day, so the clearing house transaction wont process til the Federal Reserve is open again Monday at midnight. If you can deposit funds into your account Tuesday before your bank's cutoff, you may escape an overdraft charge. Do you have the ability to transfer money into your checking account online??
To the other person asking about the Bonnaroo site, Im thinking access was shut down to ease the strain on the servers while people are buying tickets with today being the first day.
Very happy the site was working well and got my 2 tickets!
damn. I'd go to the bank now but Wachovia closes at noon on saturdays, can't transfer money online because the only other money I have online is in a stock trading account and I can only get it by requesting a check sent to my house. its the first time I've ever gone over, and will be the only time so I guess its not a huge deal. Thanks for the info.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
My condolences to those who got screwed in the Tier 1 rush. To me, the sheer speed at which they disappeared this year as opposed to years past seems fishy to me.
I'm blaming pearl jam. they have ignored the south for years and some of their fans are insanely rabid. (in an endearing way).

to me, even the $250 tickets are a complete bargain - its 4 days of music and partying. i guess its sort of a lot of money, but i cant think of anything more fun i could buy with that money.
by the way, yes pj fans are insane!!

I work at a bank and standard policy for us for debit cards is to charge a $35 overdraft charge if the debit card is used when funds are not in the account. While an ACH hold is placed on the purchase, the system recognizes the fact that you used your card when the money was not available to you. Your purchase should be honored but you will most likely incur an overdraft fee. Hopefully you have not had too many overdrafts in the past or the bank could opt to charge off your account and not pay for the debit.
You are 100% correct- hopefully his history is ok in his account so the transaction isnt revoked, good to see another person who works with money around these places
Indeed it is good to see somebody else who is in the industry as well. From the people I typically work with I wouldn't expect too many Bonnaroo fans to be among the banking crowd. Maybe I'm just working at the wrong institution!

As one of those Pearl Jam fans, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. I have a feeling it was the scalpers though...
well - looks like we will be buying 3rd tier tickets on Tuesday after paypal moves the money to my account - that's all right just means I need to come up with a little more money
I was on at 1150, hit refresh once a minute or so, site stalled at 1201, and i got in at 1203 and got teir 2. I'm so pumped it's not even funny. I wish roo was tomorrow!

How long do tickets usually stay on sale? How long can you wait to purchas? I have mine but a friend is on the fence and I dont want him to miss his chance.
got my email at 12:06 and i got 1st tier but i had some problems typing as well with the rush but at least it held my ticket while i tried to type my info..
I hope LED ZEP is never anounced ( I hope they play ) and the obvious scalpers take such a beating that they cant afford to crawl back under their rock(s).

EXACTLY. It's rough spending all the money at once but breaking it down, you could see 40 bands conservatively. 40 bands at $250 breaks down to just over $6 per act. I would gladly pay $6 to see any of them. Not to mention how much gas money would be spent to drive around seeing each one individually. That $6 per act also covers camping and meeting great people. What a steal!

well said, one day we will all look back and laugh at this moment in time..

every year the tickets have been on sale untill a few days before the festival starts. but this year seems like its going to be different
I got my confimation email at 11:05 and I got first tier. But i clicked to get the tickets in my "shopping basket" at like 11 or 11:01 and it just took me a bit to fill in my info....
