Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I posted this in the bands by day thread already, but this seems to be the place for it to be discussed better. It seems the Beach Boys are confirmed for Sunday, leaving RHCP "loosely" as the only headliner. Something definitely fell through or is still being worked on in my opinion.

??? you did not post it in that thread. I think you misunderstood my question. What song (the 80s dubstepish song) does that video above use. Last year's was pretty lights - hot like dime and the 09 video was a mashup of phish, galactic, of montreal, and santigold.

I would say my must-sees are: Radiohead RHCP Phish The Beach Boys Skrillex Aziz Ansari (assuming this isn't in the comedy tent) Black Star Ludacris Mac Miller Young the Giant Bad Brains The Joy Formidable
Ones I would really like to see (I'll see unless they conflict with the must-sees): Bon Iver The Shins Foster the People The Roots Childish Gambino Two Door Cinema Club Yelawolf The Kooks Grouplove Blind Pilot Mariachi El Bronx
Ones I'll catch if no one else I like better is on: The Avett Brothers Alice Cooper Ben Folds Five Flogging Molly NeedtoBreathe Mogwai
Ones I want to listen to more: Bon Iver The Avett Brothers The Shins Dispatch Feist Ben Folds Five The Word Tune-Yards Flying Lotus Umphrey's McGee City and Colour Two Door Cinema Club (really digging them so far though) The Black Lips SBTRKT The Kooks The Antlers Mogwai Grouplove Blind Pilot Moon Taxi
And bands I've already seen: Radiohead (not yet, but will have by Roo) RHCP (^same) The Avett Brothers (solid but wouldn't mind missing them) Foster the People (really, really enjoyed) The Roots (one of the best live bands ever) Alice Cooper (great show, although don't care to see again) Flogging Molly (good show, but I can live with missing them) Childish Gambino (was great at last Roo, and I know more of his stuff now) Delta Spirit (was awesome opening for MMJ, but I'd rather see someone I haven't already)
I've been watching the site for a while though. This will be my first Bonoroo and ever since the line up came out yesterday I can't hardly contain my excitement.
The undercard is absolutely incredible.. Some that I am most excited about are:
Radiohead Red Hot Chili Peppers BON IVER The Shins The Roots Skrillex Flogging Molly Major Lazer tUnE-yArDs FlyLo City and Colour The Civil Wars Battles Kathleen Edwards Alo Mimosa
and so many more! I am definitely going to have a hard time deciding which ones I'll have to miss.
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the great BIG FREEDIA.
I saw him open for Tokyo Police Club and Against Me! back in August, and I was just like..."is this really happening?"
i just found him/her (I'm confused on that part, feel free to set me 'straight', haha, see what i did there) cause of the playlist and saw "booty-whop" as a song title, had to listen. now i can't quacking wait for that, seems like a fun time to say the least

I haven't posted since the lineup release, but I was initially a little let down by the lineup, probably because of the high expectations from all of the rumors. But after a little time looking up some of the bands I don't know (I've probably never listened to 80% of them), I am actually looking forward to this year and discovering some new things. I still hope Jack White is an add And it is good to see Katy Perry bouncing again.

That's why you see a lot of people on here prior to the lineup release date discounting a lot of the rumors. They know it just sets you up for heartbreak.
I'm really blown away at how so many people are disappointed by this lineup. Arguably the best set of headliners this fest has ever seen, coupled with an amazing undercard. The only negatives I can think of is that its a bit indie-focused this year and the well-known names are few and far between...but make no mistake, these bands are incredible for the most part. If you find yourself not recognizing a lot of the names, I would highly suggest listening to the artists on Spotify.
But then again, they could have simply released "Radiohead" and they would have had my money in a heartbeat.
This is kinda of how I feel. I really like the lineup, but don't love it (yet?). Its very indie. When your #4 act is BB, your #5-7 acts are Bon Iver, Avett Bros, and The Shins and RHCP are your big "commercial" act, you that its more of an indie year (not to mention RH as the headliner...who I'm very excited for btw). I kind of just wanted one more bigger, more well-known act in the top 10. I'll probably get killed for this, but someone like Rihanna, more upbeat. Even better, Passion Pit. But I'll be buying my ticket Saturday and I'll love my experience regardless.
just listened to both Bon Iver cd's in their entirety, and cant really say I am a fan...Skinny Love however is really good
Could be a great live act though..any thoughts?
I didn't like For Emma at first either. I eventually fell in love with it. THEN I didn't like the new one at first. I now love that one too. Can't wait to see them live.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

Technically it's a he that identifies himself as a she. There's a huge transgender rap scene in New Orleans from what I was told and Big Feedia is the most mainstream of the acts.

I spent a good half of last night and some of this evening putting together an entire Spotify playlist of 3900 songs... All from this year's line-up. I can't say I regret it at all, honestly. Definitely have found some favorites by the random shuffling. It'll be exciting this year, once again!
Also, if you're interested in checking out the playlist, just look for Custom 'Roo 2012 playlist on Spotify.
Great to see a lot of people taking a liking to the line-up too!

I'm super stoked we got both SBTRKT and Flying Lotus. Is there any way to make sure we get a latenight of SBTRKT -> Flying Lotus? There is no way that they don't book both of these guys latenight is there?
I don't know about you guys, but a sunset into early evening City & Colour set would make my entire damn weekend. Oh, god.
I hope the people involved in booking the acts know that Alice Cooper is only worthy of the ticket if his entire stage show is involved. I'm sure if GWAR had theirs, he can have is.
WHERE IS DANZIG?!
City & Colour shouldn't be allowed to play anything BUT sunset.. It would be a mind-numbing show.

To my knowledge Bonnaroo has never put electronic acts during the day. I think they'll both get a LN, hopefully not conflicting with each other
