Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I was gonna do a snake draft. The order will be determined right before the draft. It will be random. The computer will select the order of the draft.
Dammit, no way to strategize or do mock drafts to prepare. This is my first 12-man league. I'm going all-in though if there's $20/Bonnaroo ticket on the line.
So right now it lists my draft order as #5. You're saying that could change?

Wow. Somehow I missed this thread. If enough ppl back out for some weird reason, I'll jump in. So if there's a list, throw me on the bottom of it and PM me if I happen to get added!
Online drafts always randomize the order right before the draft unless you choose to pick a draft order (only the commissioner can do this). So don't even bother looking at the order, you won't know where you're picking until the draft lobby opens. If you're really lost you can always use a credible site's ADP list (average draft position) to see if you're over-slotting a guy or not.

Yeah ESPN and NFL.com both have some great tools for that sort of stuff. Normally we use www.random.org/lists/ to determine it, that way people have some time to strategize/do some mock drafts based on when they know they're drafting.
I sent out a league email through ESPN with draft info etc.
From now on all Fantasy League info will be sent through ESPN by email or posted on the league's homepage. Any questions about any league info should be done through ESPN as well. Feel free to talk trash in the thread though.
If anyone wants to follow the league that is not a league member can. The league is on ESPN. The league name is Inforoo Fantasy League.
Also, league spots could open up. If a member in the league fails to responded to emails and seems uninvolved within the league I will drop that team. If this happens I will post that a spot is open in the thread. The first person to respond will get the spot

It doesn't matter how well they play the position. As long as they have size and speed. Jamarcus Russell, Darius Heyward Bay, Terrell Pryor. Davis sure knows how to pick 'em.
On a less cynical note, I'm glad Pryor got an opportunity to play somewhere considering he's handled the suspension with class.

He has some upside. How much, I am not really sure. He will have a chance to play in Oakland and show what he has, so its probably a close to ideal situation for him.

Tressel hardly ever fully unleashed Pryor. Having watched almost all of this snaps I think his accuracy and turnover numbers are misleading. I do think he's a gamer, though, and wouldn't be surprised seeing him succeed at another position.

I think every Bills team has looked like a 6-10 team for about the past 10 years. I mean, why not just tank and go 2-14 and get the first pick instead of being in limbo for a whole decade? Who's their GM? Do they still have that 117 year old owner? Why in god's name do they repeatedly refuse to draft a quarterback? They're probably up there with the Raiders as far as worst team to root for over the past 10 years. At least teams like the Lions will be god awful from year to year and you know you're getting the top pick and a chance to rebuild.

I think Fitzpatrick is the real deal, and the combo with Stevie Johnson is a good one. IMO they are a team that is generally poorly coached, with .500 talent. They also play in a tough division. Have the day off tomorrow. Will be spending most of it doing my draft board.
Edit: What the hell were the Eagles thinking with that Vick contract!?
Post by noeysasquatch on Aug 30, 2011 12:30:56 GMT -5
I'm fine with the deal. It is a hefty sum and more than I thought he would get paid, but this way we have him locked up long term and by extending Vick we got ourselves some more cap room this year. Hopefully with that additional cap space (and maybe even more cap space by cutting Joselio Hanson) the Eagles can get a deal done for Desean Jackson like Cracka said.
Vick's deal stacks up to contracts of other top QBs. Vick will get ~$14 mil this year and ~$16 mil a year in the future. Brady $18.01 mil avg P. Manning $18 mil avg E. Manning $16.25 mil avg Rivers $15.3 mil avg
Judgement of that contract should be withheld until the official financials are released.
Does he get a massive guaranteed bonus next offseason (like Revis' $18 mil bonus he received in March)? If so, then they probably frontloaded the guaranteed money, leaving the team less susceptible to being hurt in the long run in the event Vick's leg gets torn off by Justin Tuck or something.
If they backloaded the contract (which I highly doubt since Philly has one of the best young GMs in the league), than that is an absolute nightmare. It will be interesting to see how this GM fit all these deals under the cap, while still leaving room for D-Jax's pending deal.

We have drafted some quarterbacks and given them a shot, you know them as world beaters Trent Edwards and JP Lispman, I mean Losman.

I don't have much of problem with the yearly numbers for Vick, but the number of years. I just see no way Vick is even close to effect at the age of 37, or many of the years leading up to that. Like what has been said, hopefully this contract is frontloaded. Its true for any player, but truest for Vick, it just takes one play and one injury.

Everyone should know by now that contract length means very little in the NFL. You can be cut at any point, and by that point, I would imagine, most of the guaranteed money will have already been paid. His contract is fair, when Vick is on he is the most exciting and unstoppable player in the league. He has become a much better passer, which I think will increase his longevity in the league. This is really only a big topic of conversation because of who it involves.
