I think Plaxico will work out, but you never know. I think Mason still has something left in the tank, but the Ravens were ready to move on and dedicate their money elsewhere. I have split emotions on the situation.
The Ravens didn't need to make many moves this offseason, but they haven't really addressed all the needs, either. Ricky Williams and Bernard Pollard are nice additions and hopefully Jimmy Smith will be a solid replacement for Wilson. I wanted them to add a pass rusher, other than Suggs, they didn't, but Kruger seems like he may be ready to step into that role. As far are the receivers go, I think they would be a lot better off adding a veteran. Smith and Doss are very talented and I think they will pan out, but they are rookies. The Bills have said they are willing to trade Lee Evans, hopefully we will make an offer. Heap's backups are more than capable of starting so I don't think his loss will be that noticeable. Our O-line is our biggest weakness, imo, those guys need to step up.

It's getting to the point where the Ravens need to win a Super Bowl soon. It seems like they've been perennial pre-season favorites for a decade now, but never make it all the way. That defese isn't getting any younger.

I don't know if the Ravens have ever been the favorite to win the Super Bowl. I don't know where you get a decade from. They won it in 2000, but followed that up with 5 mediocre seasons before turning it around. Sure, in the last 3 years or so they have been considered a contender, but they've lived up to those expectations for the most part.
And sure Lewis and Reed are getting older, but they haven't shown any strong signs of falling off yet. And they've done enough for this team where they aren't going to catch any grief from me for getting old. Suggs and Pollard are still young enough, and the corners are definitely young. With a good system and good coaching you can plug guys in and bring them along just fine.

With Sergio Kindle healthy I imagine the Ravens are hoping he will give them the pass rush help. I still don't think their offense is good enough to win a Superbowl, though.

I wouldn't say Super Bowl favorite, it's just that every year the Ravens are one of the teams that everyone expects to do well, but they haven't managed to go all the way in a decade, despite always playing at a high level. And that fact that Lewis and Reed haven't fallen off yet, is why they need to make that run soon. Once they do, things are gonna get much harder. The Ravens have been at their peak for a while. Reed and Lewis acting as established veterans, Ngata & Suggs are playing at their peak. Their offense has weapons, etc. They just need to get past teams like the Steelers and Colts who always seem to stop them.

There is nothing I want more than to get over the Super Bowl hump by beating the Steelers. Part of the reason I think they have had "trouble" in the postseason is the lack of a quality quarterback. Before Flacco the only quality qb's they've had were Testiverde, who was there the first 2 seasons and McNair, who was in the twilight of his career. The Flacco postseason criticism is completely unwarranted at this point, this being just his fourth year. I do expect to see him take a big step forward this year. The offense is about where it needs to be for a championship. The additions of Leach, Williams, and, now, Evans provide enough weapons for Flacco in addition to Rice and Boldin. This team can go as far as the O-line takes them.
I would still say the Pats and Steelers should be favorites over them, but I think the Ravens are good enough to beat those teams. Chargers and Jets are right there, as well. And as long as the Colts have Peyton, you have to consider them a contender. The AFC is so damn tough, making the playoffs is a solid accomplishment in itself.
There is 1 spot open still. I was thinking we should have some sort of prize go to the winner of the league. I was thinking a Roo ticket for next year. I have seen contest on the board before with a ticket prize but don't know how the ticket was provided. So I was thinking if everyone in the league was ok with it, that everyone in the league could contribute $20 to the cause. This would have to be done on the honor system which I hope shouldn't be a problem. League members let me know what you think about this idea. I think it would add a little more excitement to the league.
Also if league members could let me know when they are avaiable for the draft I would appreciate it. I would like everyone to participate in the draft and help everyone avoid autodrafting if possible.
For people who are not in the league, remember there is 1 spot open. So if you want in let me know

$20 dollars for a fantasy league?lil' steep for me cuz I'm poor. But if it's for a Bonnaroo ticket I'm in for that prize!!
Not too worried on honor system just wondering how to get everyone tallied up. (Paypal?)
For the availiability of the draft. I think one week before opening Sunday's games sounds good. Either Sunday night Sept. 4, or Monday Night Sept.5.
I was thinking the same for the draft day but the I noticed that is labor day.
Exactly. I'll be gone that entire weekend, so that's a no-go for me. Anytime mid-week works fine for me, though. And the $20 prize thing works for me, too.
$20 for a prize is a good idea. I think mid-week draft is a good idea too. How about Aug 31 or Sep 1 to beat Labor Day weekend? It might be tough to draft after LD weekend and be ready for opening day on Thursday.
there is another inforoo league that currently only has 7 teams. that's a different one right? i
It must be. I know some people hadn't set up their team yet (accept invite). I will have to check when I get home later. I have sent out 10 invites and still have to send yours and ziggy's. The name of this league is "Inforoo Fantasy League". It is on espn

Right now there are 10 registered teams in the league with two generic "Team #" teams left. I would assume everyone's signed up except for those last two people.
I was gonna do a snake draft. The order will be determined right before the draft. It will be random. The computer will select the order of the draft.
Dammit, no way to strategize or do mock drafts to prepare. This is my first 12-man league. I'm going all-in though if there's $20/Bonnaroo ticket on the line.
