I've been listening to a lot of Roo music this summer. I think I've found my Bonnaroo theme song. From now until I stop going, or Bonnaroo folds its tents, I'll be entering the gates to this one.
What's yours???
MMJ - Wonderful
....I'm going where there ain't no fear I'm going where the spirit is near I'm going where the living is easy And the people are kind A new state of mind
I'm going where there ain't no police I'm going where there ain't no disease I'm going where there ain't no need To escape from what is Only spirits at ease ....
There is people like you, people like me People need to be free. And there's a place in the sun Where there is love for everyone, Where we can be, yeah.
^^for some reason, that last lyric always reminds of George Carlin's bit about airline announcements. "The first time I heard carry on, I thought they were gonna bring a dead deer on board!"
Anyway, this one is easy for me - Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue. The last song I heard on my first full day at Bonnaroo was My Morning Jacket and Kirk Hammett (and Zach Galifianakis) covering this. Now every time I hear it I'm instantly reminded of Roo, and stepping back onto that farm really does feel like coming home in a lot of ways.

Mine's "Let's Get This Show on the Road" by Head, Hands & Feet. I played the crap out of this record for all 2500 miles of my road trip to and from Roo... this song in particular got me goin every morning and it'll always make me think of Roo now.

MMJ "Mahgeetah"... it was on the free Roo disk from 2003. After being blind-sided & blown away by their set we played the living hell out of that song at camp.
My Roo theme song would have to be Goodmornin' Da by the Tossers. Played it every morning turned up to 11. My camping neighbors seemed to dig it or at least tolerated it.

I'm a literal kind of guy. So my choices are Desitively Bonnaroo (Gimme what you got, honey, gimme what you got . . . ) and Tennessee Jed (Tennessee, Tennessee, there ain't no place I'd rather be).
I like all the previous answers, especially mahgeetah. I have many songs that remind me of roo.. I would have to say Rodrigo and Gabriella "Tamucan" or Phil Lesh "Tennessee Jed."

"California Girls" by Katy Perry. We lost the CDs in the mess of the car so we got stuck listening to the radio on the eight hour drive home. I swear to god we heard this song over 1000 times.
My Bonnaroo theme song will always be Neil Young's Roll Another Number.
2003 was my first year at the festival, and I don't remember alot of it. But I will never forget Neil shredding on Cinnamon Girl and Rockin' In the Free World (so much better with Crazy Horse, imo). I was so blown away, I needed some corn to settle down. Ofcourse, the next song he plays was Roll Another Number. It felt like he picked the song out just for me, but I bet the other 70,000 people felt the same way.
I play it every time I leave the campgrounds now, and it always brings a smile to my face ;D
Mine is "Your New Twin Sized Bed" by Death Cab. A couple years ago when "Narrow Stairs" came out, me and my buddy were stuck in line at Bonnaroo for hours having a conversation while listening to music. This song came on while the folks inhabiting the car in front of us were doing some strange stuff. It was easy to freestyle my own song in the Gibbard fashion about the folks in front of us. It was hilarious. We didn't even get to see them at Bonnaroo but this is the first song that pops in my head.

I slit the sheet. The sheet I slit and on the slitted sheet I sit.

The Doobies have a good one for this thread
Don't you feel it growin', day by day People gettin' ready for the news Some are happy, some are sad Oh, we got to let the music play What the people need Is a way to make 'em smile It ain't so hard to do if you know how Gotta get a message Get it on through Oh, now mama's go'n' to after 'while Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music All the time
Well I know, you know better Everything I say Meet me in the country for a day We'll be happy And we'll dance Oh, we're gonna dance our blues away And if I'm feelin' good to you And you're feelin' good to me There ain't nothin' we can't do or say Feelin' good, feeling fine Oh, baby, let the music play
Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music All the time
Like a lazy flowing river Surrounding castles in the sky And the crowd is growing bigger List'nin' for the happy sounds And I got to let them fly
Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music All the time
For me, "Soulshine", for song meaning and the like. "Exit Music (For A Film)"... everytime I hear this song I'm taken back to Roo 06. That was a "moment", damn it.

For a close second place, my Roo Theme song would have to be: Around The World by Daft Punk. Love the beats and the bass in that song and I always hope to be able to dance to that song SOMEDAY at Bonnaroo.

Arrested Development's "Tennessee" (hits everytime I get into the state by car)
"Lord I've really been real stressed Down and out, losin ground Although I am black and proud Problems got me pessimistic Brothers and sisters keep messin up Why does it have to be so damn tuff? I don't know where I can go To let these ghosts out of my skull My grandmas past, my brothers gone I never at once felt so alone I know you're supposed to be my steering wheel Not just my spare tire (home) But lord I ask you (home) To be my guiding force and truth (home) For some strange reason it had to be (home) He guided me to Tennessee (home)"
