Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I think my number one hip-hop act would be A Tribe Called Quest, but I've never seen live stuff from them and I doubt they're as good live as they used to be (I'm pretty sure they're almost in their 40's) Either way that would be amazing.
saw Tribe in 04,08 and 2010. every time was amazing! last year at rock the bells they killed it. better then wu, snoop and lauryn hill. they should've headlined.
Has anyone heard Shabazz Places? Butterfly from Digable Planets new band. They are receiving tons of rave reviews on the new, full-length as well as their past EPs. Could see them as a Thurs night act.
I did. I hate to say that I didn't know the name till the Pitchfork line up came out.
Love.It.
gotta find this record - any leads? (I love Butterfly and Digable)
Listened to Curren$y's new tape, "Weekend at Burnie's," and once again he's put out a great product. Right now, I don't know if there's anyone putting out this much quality material - literally everything he's done since "Pilot Talk" has been outstanding.
That said, I have no idea if he's any good live, but I would love if he showed up to Bonnaroo this year so I could find out.
Agreed. Best 'new' rapper in the game right now. Has been for a while. I saw him live a couple months ago and it didnt blow me away but I certainly didn't leave disappointed. I would love a set from him at Bonnaroo, kind of surprised he hasn't been there the last 2 years honestly.
Anyone think we get a hip hop repeat this year? I think that j cole is about to blow up. ( no pun intended) If his album does as well as expected, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a tent in the afternoon in 2012.
I could see Snoop Dogg coming back soon. He's not too big, like repeating a headliner or something, but he's big enough that he could switch it up and do something like a LN Which Stage appearance. I think he when he got there in 09 he didn't expect to see as many people as he did. He looked pretty surprised. That was a really really fun show.
This has nothing to do with hip-hop at Bonnaroo, but goddamned if Rick Ross doesn't need to start wearing a f*cking shirt. Christ, guy's like four bills and he just airs it out. Nobody needs to see that.
There's too much power packed-ness in this menu - but I must will it into existence because I mean, I hear it's the end of the world anyway (I'm going off the presumption of 86 relatively well known artists, and that I'm half wrong)
Tribe * The Roots * Mos Def * Ghost/Rae * Curren$y * Brother Ali * PUTS

Curren$y's and Freddie Gibb's new mixtapes are tight as hell. These guys are sooooo goood.
Are you talking about the Freddie Gibbs/Statik Selektah "recorded all in 24 hours" cut? I've heard a couple of tracks, and they were great, and I'm a fan of when Statik did this same thing with Saigon.
Yeah, its great. And Curren$y's "Weekend and Burnies" is probably his best yet.
I wouldn't mind seeing Chiddy Bang coming back. They're a fun show and are dropping a second album sometime before Roo. If they keep improving their talents and keep up the high-energy fun shows, I'd be all for seeing them.
Let's bring Em, Wiz, Atmosphere, the Knux, and Wayne back while were at it.
I guess I like hip-hop too much to promote a guy that does everything possible to keep people stereotyping it as loud and angry black guys rapping about NO NO WORD!!! and women.
Wondering if you're talking about Flocka or Wayne here. If I didn't know any better they are one in the same when I take their names out.
It's funny that you got on be for jumping on people's musical tastes, but you do the same only x100. Your replies are riddled with anger when someone likes an emcee that you loathe.
Hi. I'm absolutely right. People would eat that shit up.
I keep hoping you post a "Just Kidding!" If you're serious about Waka Flocka, your opinion is wrong. And yes, I know I just said an opinion was wrong when that defies the very nature of the word "opinion", but you deserve it.
Instead of Flo-Rida, why not just put a synthesizer and auto-tune machine on stage and let each Roo goer scream one nonsensical gibberish statement into the mic? Seriously. Flo-Rida?
Guys like T.I. aren't good unless they're performing in front of a crowd that really wants to see them. T.I. in front of 80,000 people, 15,000 of which actually like him, would be a trainwreck. That, the fact that he's not that great live and the fact that he'll be rusty (jailtime!jailtime!) leads me to say no to him as well.
Kanye is a spectacle. Jay-Z is Jay-Z. If you can get a Watch The Throne headlining show it would be insane. But since I'm a walking jinx, I'll give that a 0% chance of happening so I don't ruin it for everyone hoping that show gets booked.
The Roots, Wu-Massacre (Raekwon, Ghostface, Meth & RZA), Nas, Rakim, (I'll just say "ITM's throwback hip-hop tent" instead of listing all the old acts I'd want to see), Royce and/or Slaughterhouse, OFWGKTA, and Cunninlynguists. Give me any assortment of that list and I'm beyond happy.
Oh, and for the guy who called Juggs an "idiot" and then went on to say Waka Flocka's hypothetical Thursday late-night set would be "insane amounts of fun" needs to re-think their fun scale.

Hypocrite
wow dude, you need to give this crap up. you look like an utterly butthurt a$$clown
Oh yeah I'm not sure if I've ever pimped Saigon's "new" album on here, but it's great. I'd love to see him at Bonnaroo. Thanks for the reminder juggs.
Yeah, when this was delayed for so long he kind of lost the hype he had and it flew under the radar, but it's a really well-done album. Saigon's not the most technically gifted MC but he rhymes well enough, and it's a great "album," not just a collection of songs, which is something of a rarity in hip-hop these days. I don't know much about him live, but I'd check him out for sure.
Yea, I feel bad for him. He became another victim of the hip hop maching. His hype about 5 years ago was huge. I'm glad to finally be able to hear the album.
And Statik is a quality producer. He seems to be forgotten when talk of the best producers comes up. He has done some really good work over the years.
To anyone who has said no Kanye.. I saw Kanye on the 30th at Milwaukee Summerfest... hands down the best show I've ever seen. I'd be so happy to see that again at Roo next year.
