I doubt they're as good live as they used to be (I'm pretty sure they're almost in their 40's)
Owned haha .. you're so right though approo I'm not trying to say rappers aren't as good when they're in their 40's, I just don't even know if Tribe were good back in their prime (I'm assuming they were though)

After seeing them a few years ago I can assure you they are still great.

Seconded.
and N.E.R.D. late night actually sounds amazing - it would be nutz in That or This Tent
I think that immortal Technique would kill a bonnaroo set. I personally don't know about busdriver, but I hear good things, where is a good place to start?
^Temporary Forever was the first Busdriver album I got some years ago, and the one that really got me into his music. Personally I suggest starting with that. The new stuff thats up on his website right now is pretty great too.
any chance of N.E.R.D... I dont know how ppl on here feel about them but i think it would be a good late night set. Probably unlikely though
Brutal, absolutely awful when I saw them at Pemberton Fest 2008. Not only were they an hour late for an afternoon mainstage set, they found the need to insult the festival, promoters and fans. They told the crowd, "If these motha-fuckas shut us down I want you to rush the stage and start smashing heads" and so on from there. Did I mention it was a SUNDAY afternoon and they were sandwiched between Death Cab and Vampire Weekend? I've never seen a show that caused me to hate a band like this piece of crap did. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, they also brought some VERY young women (girls) from the crowd to participate in some questionable (for legal reasons, read- statutory rape) behavior.

End rant.
That's funny because Vampire Weekend's Roo '08 show was the only show I've ever seen that caused me to hate a band.

I guess its one of those hit or miss kind of shows. I thought they were great. Technically sound, good energy, total package. Even the jam heads with me thoroughly enjoyed it. N.E.R.D., not Vampire Weekend, never seen Vdub.
Anyone think we get a hip hop repeat this year? I think that j cole is about to blow up. ( no pun intended) If his album does as well as expected, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a tent in the afternoon in 2012.
I can't wait for J. Cole's album! I saw a Bonnaroo interview with him and I think he said they just finished it and they're trying to release it by October. I have a feeling it's gonna be insane, everything he's ever done is amazing.
Also, Raekwon & Ghostface at Roo '12!!! I would also love to have the Beastie Boys back!
They may not be the most popular hip hop acts but definitely put on 2 of the best hip hop shows i've seen. Blackout 2 was one of the more underrated albums of last year.
I also have to say I saw N.E.R.D perform at the final four in 09 and it was an awesome show- so i guess they have their moments

If we do get a repeat hip hop act from this year, I would think it would be J. Cole, but that is contingent on his album seeing the light of day, and having some sort of success.
I wouldn't mind seeing Chiddy Bang coming back. They're a fun show and are dropping a second album sometime before Roo. If they keep improving their talents and keep up the high-energy fun shows, I'd be all for seeing them.
Listened to Curren$y's new tape, "Weekend at Burnie's," and once again he's put out a great product. Right now, I don't know if there's anyone putting out this much quality material - literally everything he's done since "Pilot Talk" has been outstanding.
That said, I have no idea if he's any good live, but I would love if he showed up to Bonnaroo this year so I could find out.
Have you heard Covert Coup? It's even better than Weekend at Burnies.
Has anyone heard Shabazz Places? Butterfly from Digable Planets new band. They are receiving tons of rave reviews on the new, full-length as well as their past EPs. Could see them as a Thurs night act.

I did. I hate to say that I didn't know the name till the Pitchfork line up came out.
